Fake dating my enemy, The playboy billionaire-Chapter 166: EPILOGUE 2 (Destiny happens)
Jun’s POV3 YEARS LATER
"Yiren," I call out, checking the time on my watch for the tenth time in the last five minutes. "We’re late. Honey has messaged me five times already—threatening to never talk to me if we don’t show up soon. Whatever this dinner is, he’s taking it very seriously."
I grab the car keys from the bowl near the door, muttering to myself about why he can’t just text the news like a normal person. But before I can head back to the room to check on Yiren again, she steps out.
And just like that, the world stops. What dinner?Who is Honey?Where am I?
Yiren is wearing a deep emerald green silk dress that hugs her gorgeous figure. Her long hair tumbles down in soft waves, part of it pinned back with silver clips shaped like cherry blossoms. There’s a glimmer on her eyelids, something soft and golden, and her lips are painted a subtle, glossy rose. Her presence steals the air from my lungs and every thought from my mind.
I forget how to breathe.I forget we’re late.I forget how to think.
So distracted that I take a step back and accidentally stomp on Bear’s tail. The dog lets out a yelp, followed by an offended growl, glaring up at me like I just betrayed our lifelong bond. "Sorry, buddy," I mumble, still staring at my wife like an idiot.
Three years in, and people say the honeymoon phase fades out. Bring those people to me and I’ll punch them square in the face. Mine is welded into my bloodstream. How can it end, when this is the woman I get to spend my life with?
Yiren walks up to me, smirking. She presses a quick kiss to my lips, then leans in to whisper, "Skip the dessert... I’m the only thing you’ll be eating tonight."
Instantly my brain short-circuits and lights my face on fire. My cheeks flush a deep red—probably matching Bear’s coat at this point. She knows what she’s doing, the vixen. "Good. Keep the heels on. I plan to make you ride my face."
She turns around, face as red as mine, pulling her hair forward and tilting her head slightly. "Zip me up."She trembles when my hands brush her back, zipping the dress slowly—slower than necessary. "You’re going to kill me," I drop a wet kiss on her shoulder.
"At least I’ll look fabulous at your funeral," she tosses me a wink over her shoulder as she swings her purse.Ufff!
We arrive at Shishi and Suyin’s place, which is practically buzzing with life. Everyone is here. Xion and Zeng are lounging in the corner. Vivian, glowing and very pregnant, is nestled on the couch with her feet propped up and Zian guarding her as if she isn’t at a family gathering but somewhere dangerous.
Our pets weave through the room, tails wagging. The scent of home-cooked food lingers in the air, layered with laughter and anticipation.
I spot Jianyu and ask, "Do you know what this is about?"He shrugs, sipping from a glass. "Not a clue. Honey’s being dramatic."
I make my way to Shishi and Suyin. "What’s going on?"They just laugh and shrug too. "He swore us to secrecy," Suyin says. Both shake their heads. "Your guess is as good as ours." I’m not convinced. Looks like they’re hiding something.
And then—darkness. The lights shut off, and murmurs ripple through the room. Suddenly, Honey’s sweet voice booms out.
"Everyone, welcome! I know you’re wondering why I dragged you all here. But this news is way too big to be texted or said over the phone. Plus I wanted to take a picture of everyone’s reaction to add it to the family album."
My dad calls out, half-laughing, half-confused. "What news, boy? Where are you hiding?"A pause. Then:"SURPRISE! Mom’s pregnant!"
For a full beat, the room goes silent. And then chaos erupts.
Gasps. Screams. Someone actually drops a plate. I hear Suyin’s laughter—then she’s crying, and Shishi is holding her, beaming with tears in his eyes.
Honey emerges from the kitchen with a six-tier cake, wheeling it right into the center of the living room with the happiest grin I’ve seen on his face.
Hugs fly like confetti. Laughter bounces off every wall. Champagne is popped. Toasts shouted. I catch Jianyu brushing tears from his eyes as he pulls Shishi into a tight hug. Meimei looks overwhelmed, one hand over her mouth. Even our ever-composed parents are dabbing at their faces, noses red with emotion.
I pull Suyin into a hug, careful to be gentle. "Congratulations, doll." She lets out a laugh through tears. Everything is perfect. Yiren’s eyes shimmer as she hugs Shishi and Suyin.
I glance at Yiren, and something tugs at my chest. She’s not just teary-eyed or emotional, she’s sobbing... there’s something else. Something deeper.
"You okay?" I ask her gently. She nods once, voice low. "Destiny."I blink. "What?"She doesn’t answer, just smiles a little. I hand her a glass of champagne, but she shakes her head.
"Dance with me?"Again, she shakes her head. I reach out and wipe the tear trailing down her cheek, concerned. "Talk to me, Bunny. What’s going on?""Destiny happened," she says again, cryptic.
Before I can ask more, she takes my hand and leads me away from the noise, to a quiet corner in the back garden. Then, without a word, she opens her purse and places something in my palm.
I look down.A soft blue stick. And on it, in bold, unmistakable letters:PREGNANT.
The world tilts.I look up at her, eyes wide, and for once, I am speechless. She nods, "Destiny. We got married the same day and we are pregnant at the same time.""Dad? Me? Me? Me?""Yes. You. Dad." She places my palm on her flat tummy. "Mini you, mini me, mini us."
I’m feeling dizzy. But I can’t drop unconscious right now. I’m going to be a dad! DAD!Our little baby is growing inside my wife!
After two failed IVF attempts over the last three years, we are finally pregnant! Yiren doesn’t want our kids to inherit that part of her genes, which is why we opt for IVF—even though we’re both perfectly healthy and capable of conceiving naturally.
The magnitude of our case hits me when 90% of our embryos test positive for the Alzheimer’s gene during genetic screening, making them unfit for transfer.
Countless tears, medications, injections, and tests... I have seen her going through hell. And time isn’t in our favour either. Before Zian could begin her treatment, he asked us to plan our babies as the chances of her conceiving after or during treatment is next to negative.
After all this, here we are.....
With our miracle baby growing inside her.
God, I already want to bubble-wrap her and hide her from the world.
I close the distance and pull her to my heart that’s beating wild. Yiren rubs my back as if trying to stop the shudders, but hell, I can’t stop!
"When did you find out?""This morning. I missed my periods by three weeks and checked.""So, I’m the first person to know?""No. Bear knows. He was with me in the bathroom when I was doing the test."
I pull away just to confirm she’s joking but damn, she’s serious. "Good thing that fella can’t talk. Or I’d be very jealous."She laughs softly, "Should we tell others?"I look at my family through the window, the happiness on Shishi and Suyin’s face. "Naah. This is their moment. We’ll tell them later. Right now, let me soak into this moment.""Right." Yiren brushes her lips to mine, "Congratulations, Daddy Jun.""You too, Mumma. You too," I kiss her back, letting this moment be only ours while our family celebrates inside.
There is a destiny for everyone.Back in that lonely apartment in New York when I was running from my family, if someone had told me about this day, I’d have laughed in his face.
But... destiny happens.Because mine is standing right in front of me.My destiny brings me exactly to the right place, at the right time, and to the right person. And completes my life.
