Chapter 189: No Next Time

"A giant Soul just appeared over the Dormitories..." A caddt clown screamed as he rushed towards the Admin building.

But some third year students stopped him on the way, looking at him condescendingly.

"That’s impossible, Clown. What the hell are you even talking about?"

" or is it perhaps SHADE actualization?" Another asked him.

"—you know that’s very rare, right?" A colleague interjected dismissively. "And the case that happened in the Arena when the commoner and the Goldsworth kid fought was as a result of corrupted soul energy."

"Yeah... but forget about that—I still remember when Instructor Vandabel released his..." the cadet had a mood of recollection, a smile staining his lips.

He and the others did not notice the look of panic on the face of the cadet reporting.

"Ahhh... yes. He was so dreamy. What was his third form again? Vagabond’s Annoyance." A female cadet blushed at the thought of it.

"Only top nobles with very special bloodline can do Shade actualization like that. Maybe if I do well and graduate, he will actually marry me..."

The other girls swooned along with her could mot help but blush in their gossip.

However, the cadet reporting kept shaking his head, sweat dropping from his brows even though it was clearly winter.

And then—

Uuuuuchhhh!

A loud unpleasant sound vibrated through the atmosphere.

Only then did they realize the gravity of the current situation.

"Quick alert the instructors." Another screamed.

However, as they panicked, Cynthia, carrying Soren, and running fast, passed them without a second thought.

Past the Admin building and straight to the Science reasearch institute.

Getting in was not a problem. The moment Dr kaya saw that it was them from the cameras, they were let in.

Dr Kaya sighed, massaging her brows as she saw the state of Soren’s chest.

"Just wait here, let me go get my equipment." But just as she turned, soren grabbed her arm.

"—wait. Please. There is no time for that."

She turned, eyes motioning to his body. As if to say, "have you seen the way you look?"

Soren did not even need a mirror to know that it was bad. No, it was terrible.

Blood leaking from his chest to soak his body. Those reddish glowing veins of corruption had appeared again, but worse than before.

His eyes looked drowsy. And except for the fact that he was awake, he might as well have looked just as bad as when he first got the injury.

However, like he said, there was no time.

Soren was working with a lean one hour window.

He could not afford to waste time. Also, any more than an hour, abd the advantage he had from knowing the future woukd disappear.

Doctor Kaya stared at him. As a doctor, she was supposed to always put lives first.

Unfortunately, it was not in her nature to do that.

At this point, the title of doctor could be changed to mad scientist, and no one would complain.

But when it came to this boy.

Soren.

He had a way of making her feel the desire to honor the oath of her profession.

However, here he was telling her to go against that instint and trust him.

Even though he looked just a few meters away from death’s door.

And yet, something about him made her trust him.

Maybe it was because, miracles were drawn to him like moth to a flame.

She gave a sigh. "This had better be good. But first..."

She grabbed him by the neck, administering a specially made shot of adrenaline with a syringe.

His pupils widened, heart punping wide as his senses were forced awake.

Soren smiled. "Thank you. I needed that—now... I’ll need..."

Soon later, while the Soul Soren had released caused chaos outside, Soren was hard at work.

Fighting an enemy without having substantial information on them was suicide.

Fortunately, Soren already had knew how this enemy thought.

He knew its plans and goals. He knew where the enemy would be.

Now, he needed to set a good trap that would secure his victory.

The last loop helped him understand that the Shades that had taken over a person’s body had their heads as their weak points.

But like before, if he stormed that place qith just Cynthia, he would lose.

A bold thought came to his head and he smiled as he jotted down.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Cynthia was recording information on the caddts that had been the lastest victims of the Shade Stealer.

A lack of the shade abilities these students had caused him to fall into a disadvantage the last time.

Also, information on their identities was vital.

One particular band stood out to him.

He remembered the One Cynthia had smashed to the wall in the previous loop.

"So that’s why..." Siren massaged his jaw as he took special note of this.

And then there was the Triplex Rit Hound.

Doctor Kaya dropped a huge book on the table before him.

It was a familiar book. The sane one on the physiology of Eldritch souls.

Soren immediately searched for information on the hounds.

His eyes brightened in understanding. "So that’s it... But where can I get that from within the false glass?"

Dr Kaya handed him the ecological information if the False Glass.

The Science Research institute had helped in its creation. Of course they had information on it."

After all was done, Soren looked at his wristwatch watch.

They had been no need to destroy it in this loop because he did not enter the false Glass.

Only two more minutes remaining. If not, he would miss the one hour loop window.

He suddenly took out his Standard cadet issued dagger.

"I really don’t like this part." He muttered lightly, but with no hesitation, ge brought the blade to his neck.

Slash...

[You Died]

.....

Yet another Shade released painfully as he entered the Glass.

His body was weaker than ever and the red glowing corruption had climbed his face, shutting one eye. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Soren knew deep down. If he did not get it this time around, there would be no next time.
