F-Rank Soul Eater-Chapter 185: Change A Stubborn Future
Soren realized that it was just as he feared.
According to his calculations, there were exactly at the spot that they had been the last time.
With the speed Cynthia moved, they had gotten to this point earlier than before.
Meaning that Bloodshine was not supposed to have arrived with the other parties. At least not yet.
"Its the hounds." Sorem muttered to himself.
This spot was already predetermined for battle to take place.
And the hounds were used to control the pace of the pieces, such that they fell in place at the right time.
Just then, Li stepped forward "I believe," he said lightly, "I was the first to show interest in that commoner."
He gestured lazily toward Soren.
"So both of you..."
The same lines from before.
The Mohawk Party had not arrived yet because of Aegon’s speed. But they would soon be here.
Regardless Soren could clearly tell that they were not the target. Just side dish to the meal.
"Stop." He spoke up, interrupting Li, which made the noble frown.
He gestured to be let down and Cynthia let him down. "Stop." He struggled on his feet with his walking stick.
"Its a trap."
"Of course, its a trap." Aegon spoke up. "You have no idea how meticulously I planned this." He gestured to Soren with a greedy grin.
However Bambi suddenly spoke up. "Boss Li has spoken his desire. A second hand trash like you should disperse." She waved her hand dismissively.
This made Aegon grit his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead in barely restrained anger.
"No..." Soren’s gaze darted between Bambi and Aegon.
’Why is she pissing him off even more?’ This was a thought process that Soren never had in the previous loop.
But now, knowing what would happen, he could not help but...
’Wait a minute...’ Soren’s gaze tightened on Bambi.
At such a time, a few figures landed behind Aegon.
The Mohawk Party had arrived.
"Boss.."
"Boss.." They panted hard. "Boss, we have your back."
On seeing them, Aegon smiled even more. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
However, Bambi spoke up again, "second hand trash of a second trash party leaders."
’Shit’. Soren cursed as he stepped forward. "Stop! Stop it!! You guys cannot fight. If you do, it will end in..."
Boom...
Aegon’s soul energy went in waves, and a part of it hit Soren’s back.
He staggered forward, nearly falling, but Cynthia was fast, catching him in time.
It seemed like Bambi’s words had gotten to Aegon.
"Li, you bastard!!!" Aegon screamed.
Soren tried to talk again, but clearly no one would listen to him. Also, his chest wss beginning to hurt.
It hurt so much, he found himself passing out in Cynthia’s hands.
The next time he opened his eyes, it was because of a shock.
Again.
Cynthia had died protecting him from that blast.
Her thick partially dried blood leaked unto his body in drops.
He frowned as he pushed aside her corpse. "I’m sorry." He muttered, as he struggled to rise.
He had alos been stabbed by her broken bones.
Again, the Triplex Rot Hounds gathering Glasshearts and taking them tk the Shade Stealer.
However, this time around, Soren was not surprised and allowed his eyes the opportunity to look, observe, record.
What was he missing?
What was he not taking note of?
Aside the corpses, there was smoke everywhere.
Soren was searching. Searching for someone.
The Shade Stealer suddenly turned to him. "Waterfell..."
[You Died]
....
Soren jolted awake.
Like the last time, he rushed into the false Glass as fast as he could.
Once again, another Shade excited his body.
This time around. The Shade was a more familiar one.
Vass’s shade before achieving the first Form.
Soren panted hard.
Cynthia helped up.
Soren gritted his teeth. If he continued like this, he would surely lose all the Shades Chronovore had consumed.
Even more, the wound seemed to be getting wider.
He gritted his teeth. He had to try again.
This time around, he was able to get his point across, telling them that the Shade Stealer was nearby and they would all die if they fought.
But...
[You died]
.....
Soren jolted awake.
He lost another Shade. In his mind, he kept number.
This was really frustrating. If he ended up losing a Shade like the Bulb, he would greatly hate himself.
To do this, he had to be smarter.
Convincing the nobles was obviously impossible.
Aegon was led by his greed, Li was too arrogant, and his Second in command wanted to make a point in his name.
This time around, Soren changed tactics.
He had Cynthia charge through the gathering of the Triplex Rot Hounds.
And I worked. If she dud not care whether he was hurt or not, they could actually push through.
However, they had barely gone a significant distance when a Triplex Rot Hound the size of literal house appeared before them.
"Shit!" Soren cursed.
Of course, as if on command, it let them go once Cynthia retreated to the Spot of Demise, as Soren had began to call it.
[You died]
....
Again, he lost another Shade. Except there were two this time around.
Soren wiped his mouth.
He had to figure another way out. He could not force his way through.
However, there was something he had not tried. Although risky.
Once again, they smashed their cadet issued wristwatch.
A while later as Aegon sat on a cadet, the praises of his party members filling his head.
A low ranking member of the party arrived to give a report.
He had a perplexed look on his face.
"Mmm... why are you here? Have you Killed him already?" Aegon smirked.
"Erm... the thing is that...erm." the party members scratched his head. "...He requested an audience with you."
Aegon raised a brow.
But Soon, Soren appeared before him, bridal style in Cynthia’s arms.
Aegon was shocked at the entrance choice.
And a few of his party members wanted to say something, but Soren spoke first.
"I am going to go straight to the point. You can either believe me, or don’t. Frankly, it will help us all if you did. But today... you and your party are going to die."
At first, there was a pause.
Silence.
Then a burst of laughter from Aegon, and his party members.
Soren rolled his eyes, but suddenly began singing.
Aegon’s laughter paused. Eyes widened in shock as he stared at Soren.
"That’s song... who... where did you hear it?"
"Yeah... your voice is so terrible." Another complimented and they burst into more laughter.
Only the laugh was drier... as everyone noticed Aegon did not join in.
The person that cracked the joke awkwardly kept quiet noticing Aegon’s stare.
Aegon turned back to Soren. He suddenly stood up.
With strong steps, he walked towards Cynthia. "Its either you die for that bounty, or you die for not telling me where you heard... that... song. Pick!"
The song in question was the same one Soren had heard from Aegon’s mother when he saw Aegon’s past.
That song brought very unfond memories, but those memories came with emotions Soren knew Aegon could not ignore.
But Soren knew it was not enough. It couldn’t be.
It was not like he could tell Aegon about his ability.
Instead, he leaned in—a whiper.
"I also know about a certain Soul Ritual involving Eldritch soul meat, in order to..." Soren did not finish his words looking towards Aegon’s mohawk.
Aegon instantly understood. His lips quivered.
’Got you’
"You don’t need to know how I know these things. Right now, it doesn’t matter. All you need to know is that I know more. And someone has their eyes on you to die today..."
Soren looked deeper into his eyes.
Both boys stared at each other for a bit.
Aegon, finally turned to his party members, "leave us alone..."
A few minutes later...
Cynthia had put Soren down.
"So you are saying the Shade Stealer’s plan is for me to use my bloodline gift, and kill Li?" Aegon asked.
Soren sighed. He could tell thatwhat he was saying did not make any sense.
But still, he had to try. After all, he had a very radical plan in mind.
"If i am not mistaking, you were tracking me on my cadet issued wristwatch. Tell me, Senior Aegon. How did you do it?"
Aegon shook his head, "if you are asking if I was the one that hacked it, then know that it wasn’t me.
I simply received a message of your whereabouts for the last two days."
Soren was shocked to hear this. But there was more.
"From what I know, the facilities of the Imperial Soulforge Academy are one of the best in the empire. Regardless of birth status, everybody enjoys that."
Aegon pointed to his own wristwatch, "these things are not so easy to hack. Unless its a person whose Shade gives them a special ability.
Even if, from what I have heard, physical contact with the device is required for such thing as hacking or tracking to happen."
"Physical contact?"
