Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 184: Roles Distribution [3]
Chapter 184: Roles Distribution [3]
All the students were again gathered in the very training hall. The next day, everyone seemed a bit tense after the strange events that happened yesterday; the normal students were all a bit apprehensive of the Valkyrie, and Axel, surprisingly.
Today, they would decide on who would be in what division, not that they could select it themselves; they would only be told their positions. If there was a trace of rebellion on their hearts, today there was no trace of defiance in them, even the strongest ones dared not go against her decisions, after seeing that overwhelming power of the valkyrie.
Truly, they had to admit, even though they were fellow students, the difference in their power and status could not be any greater. They should feel honored that they were seeing a legendary figure in the making. That’s right, she was the future savior of humanity, if she could not even dominate a bunch of humans of her level, how could she in the future fend off against the powerhouses of the other races?
Another surprising thing, something which most of them missed for being dazed by the smile of the valkyrie, the fact that Axel Nomrad was able to withstand such a powerful blow from the valkyrie herself, it was something so shocking that it was almost nonsensical to an extent. Something that defied the very essence of the Seeker’s path they knew.
They could accept that the valkyrie was unreasonably strong, since she was a human summoned from a different world; they could also accept that the various princes and princesses had immense strength and potential.
But a runecaster who is supposed to be weak inherently, showing that level of strength is simply nonsense, even if Axel used his berserker aspect, it was but a 2-star aspect, it could not generate too much strength. And the iconic drawback of the berserker aspect was that people tend to become crazy while fighting; they lose their minds to an extent. Even if someone can control the drawback, when the berserker aspect is active, the seeker’s eyes would become slightly cloudy and reddish. Which was not the case for Axel.
But thankfully Lumina came to rescue at that time and explained to everyone that he was using a special sword, something which redirects a lot of the power of the attack, to the attacker. That was why he was able to endure the attack and not get too injured in the process. Because very few in the entire gold section could claim that they would be able to endure the attack and not be blown off to the walls.
Only Lucien might be able to do it if he used all of his hidden strength. Well, Heinz can do it too, but he would have to be prepared in advance and block it through the use of complicated magic. But even if Axel blocked the attack and remained standing through the use of his personally made artifact, it did not diminish his accomplishment. It only made the students look at him with slight traces of reverence.
Except for those who were severely against him, that is. Ken Dusker and Luther Suncrest, in particular, were fuming with rage.
Meanwhile, Axel, Sophia, Heinz, Vyra, Lumina, Lucien, and Thorian were standing in a circular format facing inward at a table where there was a large list, which showed everyone’s aspects and their particular specialties.
It was a summarized list given to Sophia who was their selected fortress commander, or self-appointed fortress commander...correction, it was given to her by the professor since she would be the one to lead the gold section now, it basically contained all the necessary information about all the students of the gold section, based on this she can allocate the positions of each individual Seekers.
She called for them to help her arrange the divisions of everyone, it seems, and....
"So, who will now be the division leader of the fortifiers?" she asked, directing the question equally at everyone.
For a moment, there was a moment of silence, as none of them spoke, then with a sigh, Lumina queried, "You already have someone in mind, right?"
Sophia looked at her friend expressionlessly, then nodded, "I do."
Lumina resisted the urge to sigh and facepalm herself. Heinz’s eyebrows twitched,
’If you already decided on who to put on that position, then say it, why are you asking us?’ they all thought simultaneously.
Lumina looked at her friend as if she were an idiot, then asked with annoyance,
"So, who do you have in mind?"
She placed a hand on her chin, which looked extremely cute at that very moment, but Axel did not look at her, but looked towards Lumina, who was almost looking at him like a hawk, to see if he was casting glances towards Sophia or not. Lucien also looked at him like a warrior about to go to war, but seeing that he was only looking at his sister in amusement, he snorted to himself. Lucien’s eyes became lost in the cute expression of the valkyrie.
Axel also noticed that there seemed to be some spark between Heinz and Vyra, but he did not know too much about it. But he grinned internally, now this was going to be something interesting to roast his friend about.
Thorian seemed to cough to himself in embarrassment, poor guy, too bad he didn’t have an extra chick on the table to look at, except for the valkyrie, Sophia finally revealed.
"Thorian Blackvale, you will be the division leader of the fortifiers."
No one was surprised by her choice, they all pretty much expected it, he was an Arcane spellcaster, perfect for the job, while Thorian himself seemed a bit taken aback by it, after all, Lumina was an Arcane Runecaster, so with those aspects, wouldn’t she be better suited for the role?
But Axel knew that Lumina wasn’t a good fit to be a leader; she didn’t have that mentality, and if the valkyrie wanted to put her in that position, she would have put her as the division leader in the first place, and would not have put Axel as the division leader. Thorian asked with some hesitation, "Miss Valkyrie, are you sure I would be the right person for it?"
She nodded reassuringly, "Yes, most definitely."
The others also agreed to that, and with that done, they all began to discuss which individual should be on what division so that they could perform to the best of their abilities. The three divisions each also needed to be equal in number, meaning 100 members for each division; this was also a requirement that needed to be met.
