Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch-Chapter 41: First Incident (5)
Three of them came behind the half-broken building. They finally saw it.
There was a huge fight going on.
Behind the building was an open space, basically a large lawn area. It was big, stretching all the way until it ended at the huge wall of the academy’s compound.
ROOOOAAAAARRRR!!!
A huge roar came from there.
In the middle of that open area stood a massive monster around twenty meters tall.
Its body was covered in thick black skin that looked more like armor than flesh.
The surface of its skin was rough and cracked like some burned stone, and faint red lines glowed between those cracks as if lava was flowing inside its body. Its arms were enormous, long enough to touch the ground even while standing.
Each hand had huge claws like curved blades. Its head was slightly elongated with a wide mouth full of jagged teeth, and two horn-like structures grew from the sides of its head. Its eyes glowed a deep red, full of rage and killing intent.
And fighting against that monster were familiar figures.
A blonde-haired man with tanned skin was standing in front, holding a huge greatsword almost as tall as himself. He was Leonard.
He swung his greatsword with both hands, and every time the blade hit the monster’s body, sparks and flames burst out.
His sword was covered in fire, while the ground beneath the monster kept rising in spikes and walls, showing he was using both earth and fire elements together to fight and control the battlefield.
Not far from him stood Arisha, holding a bow. She stayed at a distance, constantly moving and shooting arrows one after another. Her violet hair flowed behind her in the wind as she jumped and slid across the ground.
Each arrow she shot was surrounded by wind, making them faster and sharper. Some arrows even split into multiple wind arrows mid-air before striking the monster’s body.
In the middle area of the battlefield was Lyria. Her golden blonde hair was tied in a high ponytail, and her pink eyes were focused and serious. She was holding a golden-colored spear and fighting at close range.
Light element surrounded her spear, forming glowing trails every time she attacked. Sometimes she cast light spells that formed small glowing magic circles around the monster, which exploded into flashes of light and pushed the monster back.
Then lastly, there was Damien. The main protagonist of the game.
He was holding his sword with both hands, standing directly in front of the monster along with Leonard.
His hazel eyes were sharp and focused completely on the monster. His sword was glowing with golden light, showing he was using the light element wrapped around his blade.
Unlike the others, Damien focused more on pure sword fighting. His movements were fast, precise, and clean. Every swing of his sword left a trail of golden light and cut deep into the monster’s thick skin.
Among all of them, Damien was clearly the strongest.
He moved the fastest, attacked the most, and every time the monster tried to attack, he was the one who blocked or redirected it.
The four of them were fighting the giant monster together, perfectly coordinating their attacks, but even then, the monster still stood tall, roaring and swinging its massive arms, shaking the ground with every step.
BOOM!
GROOWWLLLL!
The monster roared in pain as Damien landed a sharp cut on its chest.
Leonard moved near its leg and slashed it.
While Lyria’s spear, covered with light, thrust inside another leg.
The tip was hot because of the light element, giving the monster more pain.
Meanwhile, Arisha had put her bow back in her storage ring and had pulled out a wooden wand. It was waist-length in size, with a blue crystal attached at the top.
It started to shine brightly as a huge magic circle appeared in front of her.
A huge sphere of water started to form in front of her.
The water circulated at intense speed while maintaining a spherical form.
It slowly compressed into a sphere big enough to be twice the size of a football.
It shot forward in the direction of the monster’s face.
BOOM!
It perfectly hit the monster’s face and exploded with high pressure.
GROOOOOWLL!!!
The monster’s mouth opened wide as hot lava shot out in all directions.
"Get away!" Damien yelled at the top of his lungs.
He lunged back, away from the place where the hot lava had just fallen.
Lyria and Leonard as well moved away from it.
Arisha, who was supporting from behind, conjured a water spear spell and shot them at the lava, trying to cool it.
While away from them,
Noah, Regnar, and Draven watched the battle.
"Let’s go! Fight! And kill that monster!" Draven declared with determination.
Just when he was going to step into the battle with his huge axe,
Noah stopped him.
"Wait, don’t go!"
Draven stopped. He turned to look at Noah with confusion.
Regnar, who was also preparing to enter the battle, looked at him with a frown.
"Why not?" Draven asked.
"Yeah Noah... why shouldn’t we go and help them?" Regnar also asked him the reason to stop them.
Noah looked at the ongoing battle and said, "Listen... those four don’t need our help. They are strong enough to handle it and kill it without getting much injured."
Regnar frowned further. "And how do you know that? How could you say they are enough to kill that giant?"
Noah replied immediately, "Because they are my classmates. I know just how strong they are... also Damien... the man with black hair and hazel eyes is the rank one student of the first year. He’s fighting there without any problem. I think he is still holding back. You could just guess by watching them. They don’t seem to have any problem while fighting."
’Fuck! That monster is so strong, yet those four are fighting without taking a single damage on themselves. No wonder they are main characters,’ Noah thought bitterly.
"Okay... I guess you are right." Regnar nodded in understanding.
He could see that those four were clearly stronger than Regnar himself.
"Then what should we do?" Draven asked with a confused face.
Noah remained silent for a while.
’We need to find the guy who is behind all this...’ Noah thought gravely. As the fight between Damien and his friends against the monster continued some distance away from the trio.
