Exploring Technology in a Wizard World-Chapter 678 - 676: Plant the Seeds, Reap Heaven
"Crazy woman! A complete lunatic!" White Mist City’s "Water Spirit" Gall looked at Muse and exclaimed, the whole person transforming into a cloud of white vapor. Countless shards of ice, spinning at high speed within the vapor like a blade storm, swept towards Muse, ready to grind her into pieces, "Crazy woman, go die!"
Muse just snorted disdainfully, "Overestimating yourself." She moved her body, approaching the white vapor proactively.
The next moment, the white vapor enveloped Muse and thousands of ice shards, like countless little knives, frenziedly sliced at every part of Muse’s body, turning her flesh blurred with blood gushing profusely.
Gall’s voice came through, "Crazy woman, do you realize how formidable I am now?! I will make you bleed to death!"
"Is that so!"
Muse’s voice was cold as she was engulfed by the fog. Suddenly, she thrust her elbow violently into a section of the white vapor.
"Bang! Crack!"
It was as if she had hit something solid. With Muse’s elbow strike, the white vapor instantly dissipated, and the "Water Spirit" Gall’s body was flung out at high velocity, his ribcage collapsed, with who knows how many ribs shattered.
"You’re the one who’s dying."
Muse glanced at Gall and said, chasing after him while speaking. At this moment, Black Evil Castle’s "Source of Resentment Curse" Triss rushed up, blocking her path. He spread his arms wide, and a thick black mist sprayed out from his sleeves, quickly forming into a towering, three-meter-tall ghastly fiend, roaring ferociously as it struck at Muse.
Muse took the hit from the fiend head-on, her body vibrating, but without a sound of pain, she crouched the next second, grabbed the fiend by the ankles with both hands, and gave a vicious pull, tearing the fiend apart with a "rip."
"Pfft!"
The fiend dissipated, collapsing back into a black mist, all returning into Triss’s sleeves.
Triss’s face turned pale, clearly affected by the fiend’s destruction. As Muse drew closer, he gritted his teeth, the black mist spraying out from his sleeves again, quickly wrapping around his entire arm, solidifying as he reached for Muse.
Muse countered, seizing his hand. Their hands met and the black mist twined around Muse’s hand, which began to visibly shrivel at a glance. Muse, looking unfazed, suddenly twisted and pulled.
"Crack, splurt!"
Triss’s entire arm was torn off.
"Ah!"
Triss screamed in agony.
"Smack!"
Muse casually tossed aside Triss’s arm and advanced once more towards him, looking as if she was ready to tear Triss in half just like the fiend before.
A flash of red light, and behind Muse, Rose City’s "Golden Rose" Aphrodite appeared, attempting a rescue.
Aphrodite held a silver spike, thrusting it fiercely into Muse’s back. Muse frowned, turned around abruptly, grabbing Aphrodite with plans to use her in place of Triss.
However, her arm trembled, she lost grip, allowing Aphrodite to break free.
Hmm?
Muse’s eyebrows shot up, looking into the distance, she saw Death Valley’s "Killing Bone" Huo Mu, with a thirty-centimeter long White Bone Wand, pointing it at her.
Wherever Huo Mu pointed the White Bone Wand at her arm, she involuntarily released her hold; targeted at her solar plexus, she felt a piercing heartache.
The next moment, Huo Mu swung the wand directly at her eye—her only eye—intending to blind her.
Muse, upon seeing this, let out a low grunt, glaring fearlessly and directly at Huo Mu’s White Bone Wand.
"Bang!"
An invisible energy wave erupted fiercely in midair.
"Pfft!"
The corner of Muse’s eye split open, a trickle of blood flowing out, but she did not go blind.
"Smack!"
On the other side, Huo Mu’s situation was far more dramatic, the White Bone Wand he was holding suddenly exploded, shattering, and along with it, Huo Mu’s right hand.
"My hand!" Huo Mu shrieked miserably.
Muse let out a cold snort, "Wrong, that’s no longer your hand!"
"I..." Huo Mu’s breath caught, overwhelmed by Muse’s imposing manner, he actually went silent.
"Ha!" Muse saw and immediately burst into loud laughter, her gaze sweeping over Russell, Andrew, Crystal, Triss, Aphrodite, Huo Mu, and the rest, laughing uncontrollably, "Hahaha, hahaha!"
"Trash, a bunch of trash!" Muse scolded unceremoniously. "I thought you might be a bit more formidable, but that’s it, nothing more. Not a single one of you can pose a challenge to me; none can satisfy my desire for battle. Trash, all trash!"
Russell and her companions exchanged glances, looking at Muse with odd expressions on their faces, their hearts filled with complexity.
Faced with Muse’s insults, they would normally have been outraged, but now they were left speechless because what Muse said was fact.
These leaders of the various Wizard Organizations had joined forces, yet not even together could they defeat Muse. What else could they be but trash?
Admittedly, they had managed to injure Muse, but it was to no avail. Muse was like a monster; the same injuries that they could barely support, Muse seemed to not take seriously at all.
In the midst of the silence, Russell suddenly lifted her head. Her clothes at the chest had been torn, and fresh blood was seeping out, the result of a punch from Muse moments ago.
With a hand faintly pressed to her chest, Russell looked at Muse and said, "Indeed, we are nothing but garbage to you. However, that doesn’t mean we will give up resisting. Even if death is certain, we will fight to the last second!"
"Is that so?" Muse listened, a flicker in her eyes, and said coldly, "Very well, I shall oblige you. I will make you realize clearly that trash is trash, not different in the least."
With that, Muse swiftly moved toward Russell.
Russell took a deep breath, her body covered in a golden energy as she faced Muse head-on. Andrew and the others, suppressing their injuries, joined in once again, fighting desperately.
"Boom!"
Instantly, the sky erupted with brighter light and louder thunder.
The battle grew fiercely intense, but it only lasted a moment. After several screams, it abruptly ended. A few figures fell sharply to the ground and voices called out, "Breakout!"
"Breakout?"
"Breakout!"
With a swoosh, the tight defense lines spontaneously collapsed, and numerous wizards began trying to break through in all directions and flee.
Muse floated in mid-air, watching, and let out a constant cold laughter: "Like I said, trash is trash. A pitiful sort of trash, and that’s just what you are."
Then, turning to the Black Robed Wizards and the Blue-robed Wizards of Deep Blue Castle, he issued an order, "Kill them all, leave none alive!"
"As you command!" The many wizards responded and the fighting both inside and outside the city became more intense than ever.
...
Atop a hill.
Bayer’s story to Dean Sige was reaching an end.
Looking towards the city’s battle in the distance, Bayer spoke calmly, "It’s about time. The higher-level wizards have been almost dealt with; the mid-level and lower-level wizards are still resisting, but it won’t take long before they are all killed. Soon, there will be no Official Wizards on the East Coast; if there are any left, they will be rare and too scared to show themselves, resulting in a gap in the inheritance. The trend across the entire East Coast will shift.
The surviving Wizard Apprentices will not be able to withstand the Human Kingdoms, and, unless something unexpected happens, they will become a part of the Human Kingdoms, vassals to the Nobles. Those Apprentices won’t pursue the exploration of the world’s truths anymore, nor will they have the capability to; instead, their pursuits will be for power and money; they’ll turn into commoners like the Nobles. Filled in their heads will no longer be curiosity, but desires.
Wars, assassinations, every inch of the East Coast will be filled with strife, turning barbaric and chaotic. However, this is also the natural ’soil.’
We’ll clear the weeds named ’history,’ eliminate the pests called ’Wise Men,’ and plant the seeds called ’Hope.’ We’ll water them with the ’Order’ of pure water and fertilize them with ’Balance.’
Eventually, a ’New World’ will sprout and grow in this fertile ’soil.’ With our repeated efforts, it will become perfect, turn into the realm of God—Heaven."
Bayer’s gaze deepened, as he became lost in his thoughts.
At this moment, Dean Sieg, under the influence of a Spell, could hardly control his body, saliva continuously dribbling from the corner of his mouth. Still, after listening to Bayer’s words, he felt an indescribable horror and stared at Bayer, asking with a trembling voice, "Who... who exactly are you people?"
"Who are we?" Bayer came back to reality, glanced at Dean Sieg with a half-smile and said, "We are Envoys of God. All that we do is the will of God. You wouldn’t understand why we do this because you, as a mere mortal, will never grasp the greatness of God. Truth be told, even we have only glimpsed a trace of God’s aura, but it is enough to light the path ahead."
Pausing for a moment, Bayer looked at Dean Sieg, "Now then, Dean Sieg, my old friend, I’ve said all there is to say, and this is where it ends. As expected, some within the city will successfully breakout and escape, and short on hands, I need to lead the chase. So, farewell!"
With those words, Bayer flipped his hand and a blood-red dagger appeared once more, aiming inch by inch at Dean Sige’s heart.
Dean Sieg’s eyes bulged, his body convulsed, and by the time the dagger’s tip pierced through his back, he had stopped breathing.
Bayer waved his hand, and Dean Sieg’s body vanished into thin air. From the direction of the city, a loud boom sounded, and indeed, some wizards broke out, fleeing east.
A group of wizards from Deep Blue Castle pursued them, passing by the hill, they glanced over subconsciously, not seeing Dean Sieg, they felt a brief surprise but did not dwell on it, and continued their chase of the fleeing wizards.
"Boom!"
From the city, more rumbling sounds arose; under the pressure of death, wizards kept bursting forth with astonishing power, breaking out and escaping.
Yet, even so, the overall situation was decided; without a miracle, it was beyond redemption.
Bayer’s gaze swept across the wilderness; standing atop the hill, he stretched lazily and said aloud, "It’s about finished, then. Next will be a return to the Main Continent. Things on the Main Continent are quite a bit more complicated than on the East Coast. But no matter, no matter..."
