Chapter 634: Chapter 632: The Big Shots

"What’s the matter?" Richard asked Teddy.

"She wanted me to tell you that the Revenge Exchange Conference will be held in three days, so don’t forget to attend."

"The Revenge Exchange Conference?" Richard was slightly startled before he remembered what it was all about. Lately, he had been so caught up with the "Destructive Gloves" that he almost forgot.

Looking at Teddy, Richard asked in detail, "Where is the conference being held? It’s happening in three days, and you’re only telling me now, so... it must not be far, right?"

"Yes, you guessed right," Teddy nodded. "It truly isn’t far—it’s at the Jungle Hut."

"The Jungle Hut? Here?" Richard pointed to the ground he was stepping on, slightly surprised.

"It’s not that close," Teddy said. "Although it’s in the Jungle Hut, it’s not in our Dark Forest Gathering Place but in the neighboring Green Wind Gathering Place."

"The Green Wind Gathering Place? Why?"

"Who knows?" Teddy shrugged. "I’m just a Little Wizard, I don’t even have the qualifications to attend the conference, so how could I know more core matters?"

"Are you sure?" Richard was utterly skeptical.

"Well, actually, I did hear some rumors." Teddy took on a secretive air and lowered his voice, "I heard it’s related to Master Russell, the manager of the Green Wind Gathering Place."

"Master Russell?" Richard’s eyebrows raised slightly. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

"You’ve never heard her name?" Teddy was surprised.

"No," Richard was very frank.

"Well, it seems you really don’t care about external matters," Teddy said. "But it’s normal, as Master Russell has always been quite mysterious. Her strength is top-notch throughout the whole Jungle Hut, even stronger than Master Ewa from our gathering place. There’s a theory that if the Jungle Hut hadn’t split, then the leader might very well have been her.

Master Russell is someone both respected and feared, usually not doing much, which is also why the Green Wind Gathering Place seems very friendly. But once she has an idea, she implements it by any means possible, with very strong tactics, and nobody truly wants to oppose her. I guess that’s why the conference is set in the Green Wind Gathering Place.

Master Ewa did consider hosting the conference at our Gathering Place initially, but she must have communicated with the other party and finally relented. That’s about all I know."

"You know quite a lot."

"Just average, after all, as a Little Wizard I can’t participate, so I can only try to find out as much as I can to satisfy my curiosity," Teddy humbly said, then changed his tone, "Alright, I’ve told you what I needed to. Now I have to head back to guard the library, won’t disturb you any longer."

"Well, goodbye."

"Goodbye."

As Teddy turned to leave, Richard watched his departing figure for a long while, then turned his head towards the direction of the Green Forest Gathering Place with a slight frown: "Green Forest Gathering Place, Russell? Seems like, with Deep Blue Castle and the Mysterious Organization causing such a stir, many important figures have been forced out. The conference is not as simple as imagined."

...

Night.

In the Green Wind Gathering Place, inside a three-story wooden building.

Three people were in the room, being Witch Cesi and her two students—the Cat Slave Girl, Heidi, and Justice Girl Naile.

The three didn’t adhere much to the hierarchy of teacher and student; at this moment, they sat around a table, quietly sitting, reading scrolls. Or rather, one person was reading a scroll, while the other two were pretending to read scrolls.

Heidi and Naile, feigning to read the scrolls for a moment, simultaneously turned their heads to exchange glances.

Naile glanced at Heidi and gestured towards Cesi with a slight pout, signaling for Heidi to speak.

Heidi furrowed her brows, shaking her head fearfully, and with a pitiful expression spoke to Narlyd, "Senior, you go ahead, I... I’m scared."

"What’s there to be scared of? It’s just asking a question. The teacher won’t actually hit you, and even if she did, it wouldn’t be hard," Narlyd replied, her facial expressions quickly changing, "We had a deal, you lost the bet to me today, so you should be the one to ask."

"But... Senior, you clearly cheated during the bet, that shouldn’t count."

"How does it not count? If you didn’t notice back then, it counts. Hurry up."

Heidi and Narlyd continued to communicate through expressions. Witch Cesi noticed them, lifted her head, put down the scroll she held, and asked, "What are you two sneaking around for? Have you stirred up some trouble again? If so, admit it now; otherwise, if you really cause a serious problem, I will not be able to handle it."

"Teacher, no, you misunderstood," Heidi quickly explained, looking at Cesi, "I haven’t caused any trouble, neither has Senior. It’s just..."

"Just what?"

"Just, these past few days, I and Senior have been hearing the other Wizard Apprentices talk about a ’conference’ in the gathering place, and you’ve never mentioned it to us. We were just a bit curious and wanted to ask you about it."

"A conference?" Cesi was slightly taken aback, then spoke, "The Joint Revenge Conference?"

"Uh-huh." Narlyd nodded vigorously, her eyes ablaze, "Teacher, is it because Deep Blue Castle attacked us and we are going to retaliate? When the time comes, take me with you. I’ll definitely show them what I’m capable of! Hmph, they ambushed us before, what ability is that? Given a chance, I’d definitely teach them a lesson."

Cesi glanced at Narlyd, didn’t respond, and turned to look at Heidi, asking, "Heidi, do you also wish to retaliate?"

"I..." Heidi spoke weakly, "At first, I didn’t want to, but Senior wants me to accompany her, and I lost the bet..."

"You two really give me no peace," Cesi muttered disgruntledly, stretching out her hand and smacking both Heidi and Narlyd.

"You two, it was all thanks to your friend named Richard last time. With his protection, we managed to return safely, or else who knows what might have happened. Now that you are back, just stay put and stop thinking about causing more trouble. You and your friend are not the same; your abilities are not enough, not even capable of handling the weakest witch, let alone seeking revenge.

The reason I didn’t mention the conference to you was precisely because I feared you’d get ideas. Yet here I am not saying anything, and you two still went snooping around. You really do deserve a beating!"

After finishing her rant, the irritated Cesi again smacked Heidi and Narlyd each.

"Ouch! Teacher, that hurts!"

Heidi cried out, looking at Cesi with wide eyes, "Teacher, we were just thinking about you. You’re definitely going to attend the conference. We can help you with lots of things if we come along."

"Forget it, I won’t be attending this conference, and I won’t be involved in any specific actions thereafter either. I’ll stay in the gathering place," Cesi said sternly, "You should just nicely stay with me."

"Ah? Why, teacher?" Narlyd was shocked.

Cesi looked at Heidi and Narlyd, slowly speaking, "I tell you both, this conference is not as simple as you think, and it’s not just a revenge action. Not to mention others, but the Element Master Russell from our gathering place, the ’Voodoo Heart’ Andrew from Rotten Swamp, the ’Water Spirit’ Gall from White Mist City, the ’Curse Origin’ Triss from Black Evil Castle, the ’Golden Rose’ Aphrodite from Rose City, and the ’Killing Bone’ Huo Mu from Death Valley... these people normally aren’t ones to make an appearance, and yet they will all be attending this conference. They aren’t truly just up against Deep Blue Castle, there’s also something else..."

Cesi paused, shaking her head, then told the curious Heidi and Narlyd, "Never mind, you wouldn’t understand even if I told you. Just know it has nothing to do with you."

"But, teacher, why?" Narlyd persisted, only to be smacked on the head again.

"Ugh..." Narlyd fell silent.

"Anyway, stop thinking about these things. This conference has nothing to do with me or either of you, understand!"

Cesi spoke sternly.

Heidi and Narlyd could only respond, "Okay."

Cesi finally nodded, satisfied.

At that moment, a knocking sound came from downstairs.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
