Chapter 592: Chapter 590: Your Lord Richard

After the caravan continuously moved forward, they left Taklamakan Lake and traveled several dozen miles to reach the Deep Blue Castle Station.

People had been waiting at the entrance of the Deep Blue Castle Station. Seeing the group from the Dark Forest Gathering Place arrive, they actively went up to greet them.

After some polite exchanges, they led everyone into the station, eventually stopping in front of a large area of Stone Buildings where they arranged places for everyone to rest.

According to the receptionist, the people from the Dark Forest Gathering Place arrived relatively early; many from various Wizard Organizations were still on their way. The conference would take place in five days, and the people from the Dark Forest Gathering Place would temporarily stay here until then.

The people from the Dark Forest Gathering Place didn’t raise any objections.

For one, as Wizard Tifeng had said, Jungle Hut and Deep Blue Castle had historical ties, and they had to maintain a good relationship no matter what.

On the other hand, the services provided by Deep Blue Castle were indeed satisfactory: accommodation-wise, each wizard was assigned a private suite, and wizard apprentices shared double rooms, with the rooms fully equipped and furnished. Furthermore, each Stone Building, on every floor, was specially staffed by students of Deep Blue Castle to assist, and any issue could be addressed to them—Deep Blue Castle would satisfy any feasible request.

In a way, it felt like home service, making the attendees from the Dark Forest Gathering Place feel not like they were here for a conference to discuss the dangers of lunatic wizards, but rather like they were on a trip, and all the wizards felt they had scored a good deal.

Wizard Richard, however, wasn’t too affected by this, as his reason for coming wasn’t merely to attend the conference—that was just a surface reason. His true aim was to try locating Yadisi Village.

After reading materials at the Dark Forest Gathering Place, he had confirmed that Yadisi Village indeed was near Deep Blue Castle Station, but the exact location remained to be discovered by consulting the materials in Deep Blue Castle Library.

After being settled in, he didn’t stay long in his suite. Instead, he went out immediately and approached the student responsible for his floor.

The student, a girl with twin ponytails and large eyes, seeing Wizard Richard approach, took the initiative to smile and ask, "Do you have any instructions for me, Master Wizard from Jungle Hut?"

"Um, yes. I wanted to ask if I could access your library to look up some information."

"Access the library? To look up information?" The girl was momentarily stunned. Truth be told, she had anticipated various tricky requests, but this was a first for her.

After pondering for a moment, she seemed somewhat unsure, and spoke, "Master Wizard, I would need to consult my teacher about this—could you please wait a moment?"

"Sure, I’ll wait here."

"I’ll be right back," said the girl, turning and running down the stairs. She soon returned with a woman in her thirties—a witch.

The witch, already briefed by the girl about Richard’s request, looked at Richard and said, "I am Roland. May I know your name?"

"Richard."

"Richard, then. Hello, Wizard Richard," said Roland, getting straight to the point. "I heard you want to look up some information. What exactly are you interested in?"

"I’m interested in the past few hundred years of the environment around the Deep Blue Castle Station," Richard replied. "The founder of our Jungle Hut, Master Yatis, seems to have been from the area near your station, and I’d like to learn more about her life. Could I access those materials?"

"Oh, I see, that’s entirely fine," the witch relaxed, visibly relieved as she had thought Richard might want to access some confidential materials and had been pondering how to tactfully refuse him. Now that she heard he only wanted to access some normal materials, the pressure was off.

Pulling out a palm-sized rectangular metal badge from her sleeve, the witch handed it to Richard and said, "This is a guest ID. With this, Wizard Richard, you can enter the first three floors of our library and peruse any materials you require, which should be located in the first-floor corner. The information might be a bit dated or incomplete; I hope you won’t mind."

"Not at all," Richard took the badge, "Thank you, Witch Roland."

"You’re welcome. Goodbye."

"Goodbye."

Richard waved to the other person and asked for the library’s location, then left the Stone Building where he had been staying, and quickly headed towards the library.

On the way, he passed by students and Wizards of Deep Blue Castle. Each person furrowed their brows, looking troubled, and the atmosphere was strangely tense.

However, in his heart, he only intended to quickly find out the location of Yadisi Village and unlock the ultimate secret of the Black Spirit King. He was uninterested in conferences, and even less so in the internal affairs of Deep Blue Castle. Thus, without much care, he quickened his pace and finally entered the majestic, five-story Deep Blue Castle Library.

...

At about the same time, Nancy and Gro were walking on a stone path in front of the library.

Previously, the two had been running around with Macbeth in the Northern East Coast, delivering invitations to various Wizard Organizations, exhausted to death, and they had only just returned to Deep Blue Castle a few days ago.

Their initial plan was to rest properly, but whether they were too sensitive, they felt something was increasingly amiss in Deep Blue Castle. Even though Macbeth told them it was an internal matter and best ignored, they could not help but want to understand more.

As a result, a simple walk within the confines of Deep Blue Castle Station made them acutely aware of the oppressive atmosphere. This atmosphere not only filled among the weaker students but was also palpable amongst some Wizards.

This puzzled them both.

They continued walking while whispering to each other.

"According to Master Macbeth, that deputy principal, Sieg, has taken charge, and all matters should have been sorted out. But it doesn’t seem any different now, everyone still acts weird," Gro frowned. freewebnoveℓ.com

"Indeed," Nancy’s brows also knit together as she looked at a few students walking by not far away, and said, "It feels like they are scared, which is a lot worse than at White Stone Tower."

"Should we talk to Master Macbeth again?" Gro asked.

"Are you really naive or just pretending?" Nancy glared, reproaching sharply, "Master Macbeth has already said not to meddle with these matters. If you go and talk to him, he might just scold you."

"That can’t be, Master Macbeth isn’t such a person."

"Why don’t you try?"

"Well... I’d rather not."

"Hmph, knew you were a coward."

"I... It’s not about being a coward, okay? It’s being rational, rational! Lord Richard has been teaching me how to be rational for a long time."

"Psh! You learning to be rational? If you really learned to be rational, then I would—" Nancy sneered, but the next moment, as if spotting something, she suddenly stopped talking and sharply turned her head to look aside.

Gro, puzzled, followed her gaze toward the library entrance but didn’t see anything, and asked puzzledly, "What are you looking at?"

"Nothing," Nancy responded, "Just thought I saw someone familiar, not sure if I was mistaken."

"A familiar person? Who?"

"Your Lord Richard?"

"Ah?!"
