Exploring Technology in a Wizard World-Chapter 588 - 586: Heading West
Chapter 588: Chapter 586: Heading West
Muse’s sharp senses picked up on Franklin’s hesitation, and his eyes narrowed into dangerous slits as he watched Franklin closely, asking, "So, are you doubting my strength?"
"No," Franklin quickly shook his head, "I just think the plan is too harsh, maybe we could further adjust it, after all, we still have many other ways to achieve our ultimate goal."
"Of course, I know there are other ways to reach the ultimate goal, but I don’t have the patience or the time," Muse said. "If I continue to stay on the East Coast, I’m afraid I’ll never be able to return to the Main Continent, you know!
You should be aware that the reason why the organization is suddenly speeding up its plans on the East Coast is to make way for the actions on the Main Continent. The situation in the Main Continent is dozens or hundreds of times more complicated than on the East Coast, and in some places, it has even reached a critical point where action must be taken—I heard the Colorful Rings have intervened.
Next, the organization will focus its main energy on the Main Continent, and if the East Coast isn’t handled well, I might have to stay here forever. And I’d rather die than rot in this forsaken place.
As for the people I need to deal with according to the plan, hmph, they’re nothing but slightly bigger ants—ones I’ll crush personally one by one!"
"Uh..."
Franklin was lost for words.
"Do you have any other questions?" Muse asked.
"No," Franklin shook his head vigorously.
"Good, proceed with the plan then."
"Yes," Franklin nodded and quickly left.

Deep Blue Castle Station.
Atop a Stone Tower.
The deputy director of Deep Blue Castle, or rather the acting director, Adolf Siger, appeared here, exuding a chilling and iron-blooded aura that involuntarily inspired fear. The night wind blew, making his long robe rustle, the aura of ruthlessness lingering around him.
At that moment, the space beside Siger distorted, and a Black Robed Man materialized, glancing at Siger and raising an eyebrow as he spoke, "This time I informed you in advance, meeting you in the agreed upon manner, so you can’t complain about anything."
"Hmph," Siger snorted softly, displaying a demeanor of being too weary to argue, and directly asked, "How are things on your side? Now, that old man above me is dead for good, and I’ve cleared out his faction. Deep Blue Castle is completely under my control—I hope there are no mistakes on your part when it matters, or I’ll be very disappointed."
"Of course not," the Black Robed Man said, "Our plan is proceeding smoothly, with all resources and personnel ready, eagerly awaiting the thrilling moment to come."
"Speaking of which, are you really confident about accomplishing this?" Siger looked at the Black Robed Man and asked, "When the time comes, it won’t just be small fry showing up. If some creatures tougher to deal with than the old man I killed attend, even I’m not sure I can handle them."
"Rest assured, everything is under our control."
"Very well, that puts me at ease then," Siger said. "Alright, if everything is in order, let’s proceed as we’ve agreed, and I need to talk with the people who have returned from White Stone Tower now."
"Fine, as you wish," the Black Robed Man shrugged, his body twisted and disappeared into the night wind.
Siger stayed at the top of the tower for a while, making sure the Black Robed Man had left, before turning to walk down from the tower top, heading into the Stone Tower. One of his subordinates approached him.
"Director!" This was a woman in her thirties, having the cultivation of a Second-level Wizard Middle Stage, who couldn’t help feeling nervous seeing Siger, and quickly greeted him. Her reaction was entirely due to some of the actions and tactics Siger had employed in the recent past, which had instilled fear in her.
Siger, however, didn’t pay much mind to his subordinate’s emotions, merely nodding in response to her before asking, "How are the people from White Stone Tower doing?"
"They are waiting for you in the Rocky Reef Lounge."
"That’s good," Sieg replied, "Is everyone there?"
"All here."
"Very good," Sieg said and then thought of something else, "By the way, have they noticed anything about the recent events at the college?"
"It seems... they have discovered something," his subordinate hesitated, "but by their looks, they don’t want to stir up trouble."
"Then they are still quite sensible," Sieg commented, taking steps toward the bottom of the Stone Tower.
...
Much later.
A highly important meeting had ended, and numerous figures left the gathering place of Deep Blue Castle, scattering in all directions.
Among them, three people left Deep Blue Castle and headed west, passing through valleys and forests, finally reaching a vast lake—the shore of Taklamakan Lake. These three were Macbeth, Nancy, and Gro.
Under the moonlight, the three rode horses and continued west.
After riding for a while, Gro, who could hardly contain himself, asked, "Hey, Macbeth, Nancy, have you noticed anything off about Deep Blue Castle?"
Nancy spoke up, unusually not clashing with Gro, her face serious as she recalled, "Indeed, something is off. The atmosphere at the Deep Blue Castle Station is tense compared to before. There are many new faces among the wizards, and many buildings show signs of damage that seems to have been caused by spells."
At the end, Nancy turned to ask Macbeth, "Professor Macbeth, do you know what’s going on?"
"..." Macbeth remained silent for a long time before speaking, "There’s really nothing much to say. The dean of Deep Blue Castle has died, and Vice Dean Sieg has taken over as the highest authority. Deep Blue Castle, unlike our White Stone Tower, does not operate under a wizard’s council but leans towards a monarchial governance. Thus, many wizards were loyal to the late dean of Deep Blue Castle.
After Vice Dean Sieg took office, he naturally would ostracize, subdue, and assimilate these people, which invariably led to conflicts and even battles. However, it seems Sieg has now stabilized the situation, so more talk is pointless."
"Is that so," Gro nodded, "So this is an internal struggle within Deep Blue Castle? It indeed seems unrelated to us."
Nancy, however, disagreed, looking at Macbeth and asking, "Professor Macbeth, do you think it’s possible that Sieg killed the previous dean and everything is being orchestrated by him? If that’s really the case, is it safe for us to collaborate with such a person?"
"..." Macbeth was silent once more, showing even more prolonged silence than before, and finally sighed deeply, "It’s not safe, but what can we do? We have no better options. You both have been following my actions all this time, you’ve seen it—many wizard organizations are either distrustful or lacking in strength. It’s quite rare for Deep Blue Castle to fully support us this time; we have no choice but to trust them.
We do not know the current status of the power that destroyed our White Stone Tower. We must promptly hold the council and inform everyone, otherwise, if they reappear, it will be difficult to stop them, which would be disastrous for the entire East Coast. frёeweɓηovel_coɱ
That being said, making this decision was not my doing alone, but that of all the surviving wizards of White Stone Tower. So at this point, considering more is futile, the decision has been made, we must go and endeavor to carry it out."
"Uh..."
"Let’s keep moving," Macbeth urged as he spurred his horse and quickened his pace.
"Right."
"Yes."
Nancy and Gro quickly followed suit.
The three of them moving steadily farther along the shore of Taklamakan Lake.
