Exploring Technology in a Wizard World-Chapter 1321 - 1319: Calling for Help
In the dining room.
Bi Bi reached for the jar filled with herring sauce with the bread in her hand.
Outside the dining room.
A concealed figure silently jumped over the courtyard wall of Richard’s temporary residence and entered the estate.
An unfortunate servant was passing by, and with a wave of the intruding hand, a gray light shot out and hit the servant right on the neck.
"Thud!"
The servant collapsed without any ability to resist, life or death unknown.
The intruder checked the servant briefly to confirm whether he was pretending, dragged the servant to a corner to hide him, then glanced around to ensure no one noticed before hurrying deeper into the estate.
...
In the dining room.
Bi Bi reached the jar with the bread, about to enjoy a bite of herring sauce.
Suddenly sensing something, she withdrew the bread, frowned, and ran to the window to look outside.
Her eyes slowly widened with surprise. She glanced at the bread in her hand, the jar of herring sauce on the table, and then outside, looking hesitant.
Through the touched invisible guardian magic, Bi Bi sensed someone had broken in, remembering her promise to Richard to stop any disturbances.
But here’s the dilemma: should she finish the grand meal first before taking action, or eat first before moving?
After hesitating for a few seconds, Bi Bi realized that if she didn’t eat now, she might miss this grand feast, but if she insisted on eating first, it could be her last meal.
Fine.
Bi Bi made up her mind, exhaling a slightly fiery breath from her nose, shoved the bitten black bread stick into her mouth, took another fierce bite, stuffed the rest in her pocket, and ran out while chewing.
In no time, she arrived at an inconspicuous room in the estate.
She could sense the intruder inside carefully rummaging through things, as if searching for something.
Bi Bi pursed her lips and approached the door, preparing to break in and subdue the intruder. Suddenly, she turned her head in another direction, sensing someone else stealthily entering.
Hmm? More than one?
Bi Bi frowned.
She was less worried about losing the fight than causing noise that could scare off the others—after all, she was alone.
How could she boast to Richard then?
What to do?
Bi Bi thought for a few seconds and came up with an idea, then turned and quickly ran back.
...
In Eden.
Bi Bi rushed into Eden without delay and ran to Pandora’s room, knocking urgently at the door.
After knocking for a while, hearing movement inside, Bi Bi moved on to where Eight-Armed Skeleton Anan usually hung out. Pandora, stepping out of her room, only caught sight of Bi Bi’s retreating figure, much like a mischievous child fleeing a crime.
If it were the old Pandora, she would surely have chased Bi Bi down immediately for disturbing her study. However, as she learned more, Pandora had become calmer, just raising an eyebrow to ask, "What’s the matter?"
Determined to base her response on Bi Bi’s answer.
"There are many thieves outside; I can’t catch them alone, need your help... hmm, Richard asked me to do this," responded Bi Bi, continuing to speak as she ran to the destination, failing to locate Eight-Armed Skeleton Anan.
A bit puzzled, she dared not waste too much time and quickly ran to the Witch Demon Elder’s room, pounding the door.
Seconds later, Pandora arrived, and the Witch Demon Elder opened the door grumpily, asking Bi Bi, "What’s going on?"
"Thieves are here; Richard asked you to help me catch them," Bi Bi quickly explained.
"Catch thieves?" The Witch Demon Elder frowned, then asked, "Why doesn’t that kid Richard do it himself?"
"Because Richard is very busy," Pandora interjected before Bi Bi could answer.
Bi Bi quickly nodded in agreement, "Yes, yes."
"But I am busy too," the Witch Demon Elder protested, brow furrowing deeper. "Besides, why not call that dead skeleton? He’s the greatest thief alive! If I left him behind in Eden while I went, I’m sure he’d rob my place blind."
"I looked for him but couldn’t find him; maybe he’s busy too..." Bi Bi added in a small voice.
"No way, I won’t leave until that dead skeleton is found," insisted the Witch Demon Elder.
Bi Bi felt helpless and looked at Pandora with wide eyes.
Pandora paused for a moment, then turned and stepped aside. As the Witch Demon Elder and Bi Bi wondered what she was doing, Pandora reached a spot near the door, punched the ground, pulled out the hidden Eight-Armed Skeleton Anan like a chick, shook off the dirt, and gently placed him on the ground.
Eight-Armed Skeleton Anan glanced at Pandora in annoyance, then provocatively at the Witch Demon Elder.
The Witch Demon Elder’s face turned green, nearly jumping, accusingly pointing, "I said so! Leaving him behind, he would rob my home blind! He’s hiding by my door, ready to act at any moment. It’s too much!"
"Alright, let’s go help Richard; you can settle your differences later," Pandora said.
"Fine, we’ll settle accounts then," agreed the Witch Demon Elder, glaring at Eight-Armed Skeleton Anan.
The group quickly left Eden.
...
Outside Eden, intruders continued their rampage in the estate.
A red-nosed intruder climbed into a room full of books through the window, eyes gleaming as he quickly searched, believing he’d find clues.
But before he could delve much, footsteps loudly approached, followed by the door creaking open to reveal a girl with purple hair and eyes.
The red-nosed intruder was momentarily stunned before reflexively trying to strike.
Unexpectedly, the purple-eyed girl moved faster, closing the gap in a rush. A fist filled his vision, then everything went dark.
"Bang!"
The red-nosed intruder dropped to the ground stiffly.
Pandora withdrew her punch, shook her head disdainfully, grabbed one of his legs, and dragged him outside.
