Chapter 1302: Chapter 1300: Contributing Effort

Bi Bi blinked her eyes, took a step back, gently placed the bone on the ground, and said to the Witch Demon Elder and the Eight-Armed Skeleton: "I’ve left the thing here for you. Whoever wants it, just take it, don’t involve me."

She’s really smart... Bi Bi thought proudly, taking a small hop, savoring the squabble behind her between the Witch Demon Elder and the Eight-Armed Skeleton, while walking away.

"Pop!"

Just a few meters away, she was tripped by an unseen force, losing control and tumbling. Curious, Bi Bi turned her head to see the Witch Demon Elder and the Eight-Armed Skeleton having stopped their quarrel. The little piece of bone she had placed on the ground had snapped in two, with each holding a piece, giving her a rather peculiar look.

"This..." Bi Bi’s expression changed, feeling wronged, "Don’t look at me like that, it has nothing to do with me, I just put it there, I really didn’t mean to... Ah!"

"Bang!"

Before Bi Bi finished speaking, she exclaimed, followed by a muffled sound.

...

A while later, after being scolded, Bi Bi, lying on the ground, patted the dust off her body, covered her slightly swollen forehead, stood up, and made a face in disdain toward the direction where the Witch Demon Elder and the Eight-Armed Skeleton had left.

Hmph, two old geezers, what kind of skill is bullying her, why not bully the Golden Yellow Dog if they have the guts, do they really think her status is lower than a dog’s?

Uh... well, actually, her status really is lower than a dog’s.

She’s gradually coming to terms with reality, in Eden, the rankings go something like this: Pandora, the Witch Demon Elder and the Eight-Armed Skeleton, the dog, and then her.

Pandora naturally takes the undisputed first place, being the earliest arrival with the most seniority. The Witch Demon Elder and the Eight-Armed Skeleton, backed by power, are tied for second. The Golden Yellow Dog, supported by Pandora, comes in third. Being weak and helpless, as a defector, she ranks fourth, behind the dog.

She doesn’t have much complaint about this, after all, while she is fourth, she’s not last—there’s a whole bunch of Magic Puppets in Eden she can still bully, and if she’s careful not to get caught by Pandora, she might even bully the third place dog.

Thinking about it, life isn’t so bad: unlike the loneliness of the underground chamber, she’s gotten to know several people and a dog here, and she can bully them at will or get bullied at will. She even helps the Eight-Armed Skeleton steal the Witch Demon Elder’s bones, or helps the Witch Demon Elder steal them back, thrilling and exciting, how wonderful!

When she doesn’t want to act, she can pester Pandora to play with those strange symbols on paper, like playing chess.

Pandora initially despised her ignorance, even in complex math, and was unwilling to teach her, but it didn’t take long for her to learn, softening Pandora’s demeanor a bit.

Lately, Pandora said she wanted to teach her something about triangles, the Hundred Ox Theorem, Dog Bone Theorem, who knows what those are.

Hundred Ox? Need a hundred oxen? Sounds interesting.

Dog Bone? Need to pry apart a dog’s bone while it’s alive? Sounds fun.

Could it be that Pandora’s been protecting the dog all along to prevent her from bullying it, for fear it might be killed too early to have its bones pried apart for teaching?

Very possible!

So, should she go and see now?

Bi Bi blinked again, made up her mind, and jogged towards Pandora’s study.

She felt incredibly happy now; this was the life she wanted.

...

In the study, Pandora was contemplating a sheet of paper full of numbers, with the Golden Yellow Dog quietly lying at her feet.

Not far away in the storeroom, the Witch Demon Elder was cautiously assembling a new Magic Puppet, which appeared to be somewhat different from the ordinary ones, with its bones glimmering faintly.

The Eight-Armed Skeleton was pacing outside the storeroom door, eager to give it a try, but the Witch Demon Elder didn’t give him a chance to steal any bones, so he reluctantly returned to his room, huddled in a corner piecing together a pile of bones he had stolen earlier, who knows what he was making.

On the ground, in Grey Stone City’s Command Room, Soron continued his work.

All in all... everyone has their place.

Quite nice.

...

Just like that, time passed day by day, and in the blink of an eye, two weeks had gone by.

Two weeks later in the morning, Richard was in the garden of his temporary residence, still testing an improved spell based on his recent thoughts, when a subordinate rushed in to report that Commander Soron had come for a visit and was waiting in the reception room.

That was somewhat surprising, Richard raised an eyebrow upon hearing it.

Ever since he officially stepped back, apart from occasionally going to the Command Room to meet and talk with Soron, the latter had never sought him out.

What’s going on today?

Is it possible he’s unhappy because Richard hasn’t been to the Command Room’s for a while? It can’t be, he was just there the day before yesterday.

So then...

Pondering, Richard left the garden’s external Magic Testing Field, entered the reception room, and met Soron, as well as Kun Dalci in a white robe, Soron’s chief advisor.

After a round of exchanges, Richard understood the reason for Soron’s visit. It turned out he was here to notify about another Command Room relocation.

"Relocate to where?" Richard asked, intuitively sensing that this relocation was different from the previous ones, given that Soron had never visited him with such formality before.

"To in front of Kasha City," Soron replied.

"Kasha City?"

Kasha City, the "Ka" in the Sika Kingdom, its name alone reveals the city’s distinctiveness.

Having coordinated with Soron in past battles, Richard was not completely unfamiliar with this city, knowing it’s Sika Kingdom’s second largest, second in status only to the Royal Capital.

"So..." Richard blinked, confirming aloud, "next is to fight Kasha City?"

"Yes." Soron nodded.

Even though he had already guessed, Richard was still taken aback upon hearing Soron’s confirmation.

After all, this is Kasha City, located at the center of the Sika Kingdom. Capturing it would basically mean seizing half of the Sika Kingdom, essentially dividing the Sika Kingdom in two, which is undeniably significant.

Richard knew very well that Soron had been planning to take this city for a long time, but he never expected it to happen so swiftly — counting from when the war began to now, it had only been two months.

It seems that during the time Richard has stepped back, under Soron’s direction, the Soma Alliance’s army advanced with astonishing speed, facing practically no resistance.

If this pace continues, within a few months, the Sika Kingdom might not exist at all.

"So do you need me to do anything?" Richard asked thoughtfully, knowing full well that Soron wouldn’t have come just to inform him, he must need something.

Sure enough, the next moment, Soron got straight to the point, "I hope that in the upcoming battle for Kasha City, Lord Richard can lend a hand."
