"Scare me?" Tong Keke raised an eyebrow. "I’m not someone you grew up scaring, you won’t scare me!"

"Tong Keke, are you trying to defy gravity?" Gu Qianxi turned and glared at her angrily. "Stop testing my limits. Get out!"

Tong Keke could tell that her uncle was genuinely angry. Reluctantly, she climbed off his bed with tears welling in her eyes and walked toward the door with her head lowered.

Gu Qianxi looked at her; she seemed truly hurt. His brow furrowed deeply, and his thin lips pressed into a tight line.

Just as Tong Keke reached out to push the door open, Gu Qianxi suddenly spoke: "Come back!"

Tong Keke turned her head, staring at him with a hint of confusion.

"You sleep on the bed, I’ll sleep on the sofa," Gu Qianxi said, pointing at the bed and then at the sofa.

Tong Keke paused in surprise. "Why not sleep together on the bed? Your bed is so big; you can sleep on one side, I’ll sleep on the other."

Now that she seemed re-energized, Gu Qianxi couldn’t help but chuckle resignedly. "Keke, do you know that your little tricks to wear me out are becoming more frequent? Someday, they’ll drive me insane."

Tong Keke blinked her eyes, then smiled shyly. "Uncle, be honest with me. I’m actually not as casual as I appear. I’m still very conservative and traditional!"

"Doesn’t look like it!" Gu Qianxi lay down on one side of the bed.

Tong Keke mumbled under her breath, "Then I’ll restrain myself a bit in the future! Uncle, do you prefer me to be more reserved?"
