Chapter 401: Chapter 402: Uncle, I Was Wrong, Please Listen to Me

"Tong Keke, that’s enough!" Gu Qianxi’s handsome face flushed bright red as he directly pushed away her small hand and turned to walk downstairs. πšπ«πšŽπ—²π•¨πžπ›π•Ÿπš˜π―πšŽπ—Ή.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Tong Keke propped her hands on the railing, resting her chin on her hand as she looked down into the lobby. She muttered playfully, "Uncle, why aren’t you following the script? You’re no fun at all!"

As Gu Qianxi walked downstairs, his breathing had already gone chaotic, and his handsome face turned even redder. He suddenly realized, no matter what, he couldn’t seem to win against this little troublemaker.

She really had managed to infuriate him without rhyme or reason.

Tong Keke went straight back to her room to take a bath. Afterward, she picked out a pink little nightgown to wear. Feeling slightly cold, she draped a white robe over herself. Her small hands tucked into the robe pockets, and her long black hair was tied up into a bun, with several playful strands falling by her ears. She looked fresh and delicate.

Humming a little tune, Tong Keke walked towards the dining area, immediately catching the fragrant aroma of noodles filling the room.

Her tiny mouth stretched into a smile as she quickened her steps, heading to the kitchen doorway. There, she saw the man wearing a sky-blue shirt with rolled-up sleeves, busy preparing noodles for her.

"Uncle..." Tong Keke, shameless as ever, stood behind him and stuck out her rosy little tongue.

Gu Qianxi kept a blank expression, focusing entirely on the noodles and sauce he was handling, unwilling to pay attention to the smug little girl behind him.

"Uncle, don’t ignore me!" Tong Keke stretched out a small hand, gently clawing at the muscular arm of the man. "Uncle, what kind of noodles are you making for me? Smells so good! Is it beef noodles?"

Gu Qianxi frowned and gave a deep "Mm."

"Uncle, are you really angry?" Only then did Tong Keke realize she might have overdone her joke earlier. Her uncle was still keeping a stern expression, refusing to talk to her.

"No more jokes like that in the future!" Gu Qianxi replied seriously, his rare stern face addressing her directly.

"Okay, I won’t do it again! Uncle, please don’t be mad!" Tong Keke grew panicked and anxious. She was always the most afraid of seeing her uncle angry.

Gu Qianxi glanced at her, and seeing her sincere apology, he wasn’t actually mad at her anymore. Still, his expression hadn’t quite softened yet.

"Uncle..." Tong Keke felt scared and lightly tugged at the hem of his shirt.

Gu Qianxi thought to himself that he should keep his distance from her for a while; otherwise, she’d never learn her lesson.

But as he kept his stern demeanor for a little longer, he noticed she had stopped speaking altogether. He turned his head involuntarily to look at herβ€”and saw her standing there motionless, tears streaming down her face.

A sharp pain pierced Gu Qianxi’s heart.

"Keke, what’s wrong?" He instantly forgot about the whole sulking matter, anxiously asking her.

Tong Keke had already started sobbing. "I’m terrified when Uncle doesn’t talk to me! Uncle, please don’t be like that!"

Gu Qianxi froze. So it was simply because he had ignored her for a moment that she became this frightened?

"No more crying. Uncle isn’t ignoring you," Gu Qianxi quickly reached out with his fingers to wipe away her tears, feeling unbearably distressed.

Tong Keke sobbed, "Uncle, you can yell at me, hit me, but please don’t ignore me, okay?"

Gu Qianxi could only nod and promise, "Alright, Uncle promises you, I won’t ignore you again."

"Hmm. Then... can I eat the noodles now?" Tong Keke stopped crying upon hearing her uncle’s reassurance.

Seeing her childish demeanor, Gu Qianxi couldn’t help but laugh. "Of course, go ahead and eat. You need to eat them while they’re still warm."

Tong Keke instantly brightened up and happily followed her uncle to the dining room to enjoy the noodles.
