Evolving My Mythic Legion With A Legendary Skill-Chapter 66: The Attack
Inside the settlement, a room was lit unlike most other domains.
In there sat Arlo along with a few of his men, a deep frown on his face.
"Boss, are we really just going to let him continue this business? Not one has come to exchange with us, at this rate all of us will have to go out to hunt too.
Not to mention, he killed one of our own!" one guy said angrily.
Now the other lords no longer feared them like before, it made them feel angry.
They were living like kings in this settlement and suddenly they had become worse than servants, people even kept cursing them.
"We will avenge Gary, he didn’t deserve to die like this! He was just scouting, yet that bastard dared to kill him and that too at my doorstep!!" Arlo slammed his fist on the armrest, his chubby cheeks jiggling.
"Yes boss, Gary had just gone to see him and by killing, he directly disrespected you. We have to kill him and take his domain!!" Jose said, he was the one beaten by Neil before.
"Where is Hiroshima?" Arlo asked cautiously.
"He has gone out with his team, and probably won’t return until late today." Someone answered.
"Great, this is the perfect chance. We have to eliminate him, once he is dead, Hiroshima will not be able to do anything and we will be back in power!!" Arlo announced as he jumped to his feet.
First they gathered enough men, the mission was big so Arlo promised them extra rewards.
Before long, 81 men had gathered outside Arlo’s house, most of whom were at the 2nd Origin.
Their classes ranged from classless to silver. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The sky was still dark, like most of the times, and the two red moons were high up in the sky.
"It is only around 4 in the morning, most people should still be asleep and those guards must be exhausted. We will attack fiercely and clean them up!!" Arlo shouted before adding:
"But we are not killing those guards, just subdue them. As for the subjects in the territory, if they fight then kill them, if not then capture them."
"Yesssss!!" they all gave a loud shout, like bandits who were going to scavenge a village.
After gearing up, they sneaked out of the settlement.
One of them had the ability to create a sort of barrier around them, making them nearly invisible.
After walking more than a hundred metres they paused, many were shivering in the cold.
"Don’t you think it’s getting way too cold? I mean the beast wave should still be five or six days away." Someone muttered, his teeth clattering.
"Silence, so that’s Lukas’s territory? Let’s take out the guard first." Arlo ordered, he remained at a safe distance, hidden within the group.
He wasn’t much of a fighter, and had advanced this far thanks to his corrupt father.
The group moved forward collectively, and paused once they were close to the three guards.
Since the territory was covered by the snow they couldn’t see anything, only the top had some space, because of the heat from the campfire.
"Go." Arlo said in a low voice, as several men sprinted forward and before the guards could react they were put to sleep.
"Perfect, now let’s break in!!" Arlo shouted, running forward.
He had heard rumours that a few people had seen a glimpse of a woman so beautiful that she looked ethereal.
This was one of the reasons why he wanted to take over this domain.
They paused outside, looking at the igloo, Arlo wondered how they made this.
He removed the snow and was shocked to see the barrier.
A wooden wall surrounded the domain, and it formed a barrier.
"Are you telling me this is a 1st Origin Domain?! How does he possess all this?" Arlo was flabbergasted and the greed in his heart rose.
"Break in!!" he took a few steps back and pointed forward.
Inside the domain, the bell was already ringing at 2nd danger level and all the troops were already ready to defend in Neil’s absence.
Nemo held the elemental bow, Leon commanded the entire army.
There were only 25 troops in the domain currently, with 10 being giants and twelve elven archers.
The giants couldn’t move freely inside the domain all at once, so most were still inside the barracks.
Nemo was ready, the two archers on the watch towers were ready as well, and so were the troops.
BOOM
A punch landed on the wall as the snow fell and both sides were finally able to see each other.
"SHOOT!!" Leon shouted as dozens of arrows rained down at the unsuspecting lords.
Many were caught off guard and couldn’t defend against such high speed arrows, getting skewered.
Still, most were able to dodge or parry, barely saving themselves.
But only a few were unscathed, most had received injuries.
"That’s his army?!!" Arlo, who was protected behind several men, stared in disbelief, just who was this Lukas guy.
How could his army be so formidable.
"CHARGE!!" Just then a deafening voice thundered, making the surrounding snow tremble.
THUMP THUMP
THUMP THUMP
Instantly the giants charged out of the domain, this sight scaring the intruders even more.
Their speed wasn’t too fast but their defence and strength was terrifying, even among the mythic class.
SQUISH
A few of the classless 2nd Origin lords were crushed to death, their footsteps sounding like war drums.
KRRIIIEEE
The cloud vultures hid in the sky and struck sneakily, destroying the brains of a couple of weak lords.
"Don’t be afraid, fight them!! They are weak!!" Arlo shouted, he held a bow and kept shooting arrows.
Many of the lords were killed because of the initial surprise.
But there were even 2nd Origin silver class lords among them, which easily overpowered the giants and couldn’t be killed with arrows.
More than fifty lords were still alive and the tide of the battle started to shift.
BOOM BOOM
Four large circles suddenly appeared on the four sides of the domain, it was the trap, Pressure Disc Trap.
The lords suddenly felt as if a heavy weight was crushing them, slowing them down greatly.
The ten giants shielded most of the attacks while the elven archers supported them from behind.
Still many attacks descended upon the barrier, and soon thin cracks started to appear over its surface.
Bob, Ileana and the others could do nothing in this situation, they possessed no fighting capability.
Ileana could control plants to some extent but there weren’t even any plants around in such weather.
Despite their high defences, the giants started to accumulate heavy damage, deep wounds on their bodies as blood flowed continuously.
"Keep at it, victory is close!! Kill them all!!" Arlo shouted, constantly attacking the barrier.
CRACK CRACK
He was overjoyed as the barrier started to crack rapidly, it couldn’t hold against so many powerful attacks.
The giants had slowed down greatly, even their metal-like skins were torn, blades and arrows plunging into their bodies.
’There are so many buildings inside?!! This is not a normal domain, a jackpot, I have hit a jackpot- hmm why is the core building burning with black flames?’
Arlo wondered, a strange feeling settling into his heart even as he kept shooting arrows.
Seeing that they were close to victory, all men fought madly, so many 2nd Origin Lords bombarding a 1st Origin Domain, the result was evident.
BANG
The barrier finally cracked...
