Evolving My Mythic Legion With A Legendary Skill-Chapter 140: Shen
The person in the black outfit tapped over the sphere of energy, and a light tap was enough to break it.
’That’s a lord at the 5th Origin!’ Neil thought, between them there was such a huge gap.
All the other lords beside him also looked up in awe, their eyes wide open.
Though most could barely see them so high above.
Xander and Arnold were engaged in a bloody battle but paused as the domain around them broke.
Neil narrowed his eyes, he didn’t try any of his phantom skills, lest he get caught by the government itself.
"These bugs are still alive and roaming?" a female voice sounded in his head, sounding very arrogant.
’...’ Neil didn’t engage in any talk, instead focusing on the events above.
The protector asked something, and both the guys calmed down, reverting back to their original forms.
Even Xander seemed pretty tame right now, it was the ECO that even made them the wardens of those settlements after all.
After the question was asked, both Xander and Arnold answered.
The protector seemed to give a warning to Arnold, then he took Xander away.
’This guy is going to be trouble, I should quickly contact teacher first.’ He thought, but remained completely calm unlike all the other lords around him.
Even though he was the reason it was all happening.
BOOM
With a loud sound, Arnold landed on the ground, his battle suit was still perfectly fine.
So battle suits could further be upgraded to match their abilities so they don’t get destroyed.
Neil’s battle suit would easily get destroyed by flames and had literally no defensive power.
He might need to upgrade it, but he was too poor.
"Don’t worry, he won’t be creating such a ruckus here again. Just be careful when going out though." Arnold spoke with a big smile.
He was quite proud of his big muscles and loved showing them off.
But Neil knew the threat of Xander was not gone.
If he asked the other lords, it wouldn’t be hard to find out that Neil was the one Arlo last fought with.
Then Xander would target him directly, it seemed Neil would have to do things quickly.
"Anyway, start with the questioning session. These young guys must be very tired, we shouldn’t hold them up for too long." He ordered.
All the officers quickly began to note the entries of the remaining lords.
The officer who scanned Neil’s face seemed a bit confused, he felt he had seen Neil somewhere but just couldn’t remember.
Then into the various domains, they were being called one by one for questioning.
Neil was sure his name would appear many times, but others didn’t know much about him, so it was fine.
Unlike Neil, the other lords didn’t care about the questioning, they were just excited to start a normal and safe life.
"You can enter." An officer spoke while gesturing towards Neil.
The domains were only at the 2nd order, their conditions worse than Neil’s domain when he had just obtained it. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
They were all mostly silver classes, a few were bronze and even fewer were gold.
Those gold must be the higher position officers.
Neil entered the wooden domain, there was a table and two chairs where one of the officers was seated.
"So, you are Neil Yates..." the officer looked down at his details.
A frown appeared over his face, he felt he had heard that name, then continued to read.
Neil had become very famous on the Zoratian planet for some time when his real synergy was revealed.
His story became quite famous but it had been several weeks, so people were already forgetting about that.
’He came from Earth a few months back but was... killed? Oh wait, it’s him!!’ the officer finally remembered as he quickly pulled various news articles.
He stood up abruptly, knocking back his chair, his eyes wide.
"Are you really that Neil Yates? The one whose ship exploded and got abducted by the Lizzard race? The one with 99 percent synergy, the one who was missing when other lords returned from the Lizzard race?"
He asked one question after another.
"...Yes, I am." Neil shrugged his shoulders, there was no point in hiding his real identity.
And with Analyzer, he didn’t need to worry as much about those hidden enemies of his.
’Right, I still need to find out who was behind this whole thing.’ He thought.
"W- What?!! So after escaping from the Lizzard race you were trapped in the Carceral Citadel? Ohhh no wonder you couldn’t be found." He was really surprised.
"P- Please take a seat, let me inform the warden about this matter." The officer stood up quickly and ran outside.
He was at the bronze class of the 3rd Origin and seemed to be in his thirties.
"..." Neil sighed and sat down, it seemed his identity would be revealed sooner than he expected.
"Master, these people are checking the domains." In an urgent tone, Nemo reported.
Neil’s domain was away from all the others, so it attracted attention easily, as it also looked way better than the other ones.
Unlike what they had promised, these bastards were checking out their domains?
Neil frowned, suddenly he was not in such a good mood.
...
The excited officer hurriedly ran outside, he almost stumbled a few times.
He asked around for Arnold, thankfully the warden was still around.
"What’s the matter, officer?" the warden asked, seeing the lord panting but with a strange smile on his face.
"There HUFF HUFF I just saw him..." he was panting, not because he was tired but because of excitement.
Humanity’s current greatest talent was Jane Aven, and after the clash games she had been progressing even faster.
There were rumors that she had gotten a very powerful teacher.
But Neil’s return changed it all, his talent was unprecedented, he was someone who defied logic.
He obtained two skills unlike all others.
And the officer couldn’t even sense what Neil’s Origin was.
"What’s wrong? Calm down and speak properly." Arnold said, he was quite lenient with his team.
"One should remain calm no matter the situation." He added.
"Haa Warden, just now... I saw Neil Yates, the one with 99 percent synergy, he was abducted by the Lizzard race and then declared dead." The officer finally managed to speak.
"Neil- Oh! Neil Yates? Really? Where is he? Bring me to him quickly!!" Arnold of course knew more than these officers.
And although Neil had been missing for months, how could Arnold as a warden not know such big news?
He instantly became excited, if there was such a talented person in their settlement, then it wouldn’t be long before this settlement could reach the top among all others.
Not only among humans but even among other races.
’No matter what, I have to win him over! I guess it won’t be bad to play favorites and give him some extra benefits. As long as he stays here, we can reach the top!’
Arnold was even more excited than the officer.
He had noticed the young guy earlier and knew he was already at the 3rd Origin.
Arnold was very surprised earlier but now he was completely shocked, as Neil had become a lord only a few months ago.
Yet he was already so powerful. This guy might even surpass his parents, not even they were so special.
"Don’t you dare disrespect him, spread the news for everyone to treat him like you do me."
"Huh? O- Oh okay..." the officer nodded quickly, he knew Neil was special but was he really that special?
’Maybe I underestimated him after all.’ The officer quickly ran the horses of his mind.
If he could befriend Neil now, then once he reached the peak, wouldn’t he receive great benefits?
’Hehe finally, this is my chance, I have to make him my friend.’
"Sir Warden, please follow me, he is waiting there." The officer spoke, quickly leading the overly excited Arnold towards his domain.
’The news of his return is going to explode very quickly, before that I have to make sure he chooses this settlement.’ Arnold thought.
Both had their own interests in mind.
Arriving inside the domain, the officer spoke,
"Here he is, sir warde- huh? Where did he go?"
As the two entered, there wasn’t a sign of him around.
BOOOOM!
Just then they heard a loud noise from outside, making the two frown.
"Let’s go quickly check." Arnold said, his body flashing away, disappearing in an instant.
...
Shen was the head officer of settlement number 69, a person who worked right under the warden.
His strength was at the bronze class of the 4th Origin.
He was very opportunistic and had great ambitions, he had always eyed the warden seat and tried to take it.
If not for his connection in the ECO, Arnold would have long thrown him away or even killed him for his sneaky backstabbing behavior.
He was always looking for chances to dethrone Arnold.
On this day he was just scheming something when he heard the news of the return of over a thousand lords from the Carceral Citadel.
This was a big event and brought great opportunities.
But knowing Arnold, he wouldn’t get the chance to pull those lords to his side just yet.
These lords must possess precious knowledge about that hell, which would be very important.
But since he could not take the information, he went to check the situation and found the perfect opportunity.
And that was to look for the treasures, these people surely must have found a great deal of treasures in that forbidden land.
The greater the risks the greater the rewards, and barely any lord had spatial storages.
Thankfully Arnold put these domains aside, so bringing a team along, he went to check them out.
