Evolving Infinitely From An E-Class Hero-Chapter 98: Intercontinental Strike
"Now unto that Hero Hunter..."
Boom!
"Come out!"
My rocket boosters propelled me from the ground and into the air with amazing speed.
Whoosh!
I sliced through the atmosphere until I was about just the same height as the navigation tower on the runway.
So, my aim was to Incinerate the Hero Hunter from my current location in Sector D, while he was in Sector B.
I had calculated everything with utmost precision with the help of the Forever Core’s system.
The air channels which airplanes fly across, buildings like skyscrapers, billboards, any tall structure that could get in the way of the trajectory of the Incinerate blast was avoided.
I needed to have a clean shot, without harming anyone or anything else simultaneously.
It really was a daunting task, but it’s all I could think of at that moment.
I thought of flying there at my top speed, but I just wouldn’t be able to make it in time before the Hero Hunter disappears. And who’s to know how many more Calamity Creatures are still lurking in the corners of this airport.
"Huh!! That’s right! Jake..."
I quickly accessed his vital signs, he still looked stable at least for the moment. I turned towards the main building of the airport and zoomed through the glass windows to see if I could catch a glimpse of what happened.
There was a pool of purple blood clearly visible, I couldn’t mistake it for anything else even if I wanted to.
Right in the middle of the lobby, a heap of red Calamity Creature meat stacked atop eachother, sliced and diced to several chunks.
"That’s a result of his boomerang... And from the size of the chunks, it wasn’t a cheap kill!"
"Ahh, Boomerang Man’s is clearly on another level... So that means my priority now is..."
Kpim!.
I furrowed my eyebrows and stiffened my posture as the atmosphere blew a steady flow of breeze against my hair and face.
This had to work, unless Thunderlash and everyone else there would be in grave danger.
"That Hero Hunter is one who’s always adept on running, If I do it right he wouldn’t know what hit him!..."
"Guess I have to be a little rough..."
Tti-ring.
[Calculating...]
Geographical Link Established!
> Result: Distance between Sector B and the current location point in Sector D ~800 kilometers (≈497 miles)
> [Status: Intercontinental Neighbor]
[Incinerate Travel Time: Approx. 1– 2 minutes depending on percentage output]
Tti-ring.
[Master...]
[Core has adapted...]
[New Reward Granted: Incineration Can Be Upgraded to MAX level...]
"I see..."
The Forever Core adapts to any and every situation it faces, which is very convenient. But the down side is, I have no way of predicting when the adaptation happens; is it before the event, after the event or during the event?.
At this moment, it adapted right when I needed it to. The Incinerate skill will reach my target and be effective so long as the percentage output is sufficient.
And it can’t get more sufficient that MAX level!.
Bam!
I slammed my arms together and almost immediately, a series of cannons manifested and began glinting with hot golden energy.
"Supreme Skill: Ultra-Canon Incinerate — MAX!"

SECTOR B
SOMEWHERE AROUND THE TRAIN EMERGENCY STOP SIGHT.
Blood trickled down his arm, staining the forest floor as Bakuzan hobbled through the dense canopies.
Clutching his disfigured right hand with the last remnants of strength in his left, he staggered through the dust filled sunrays, reeling from Bionic’s brutal assault.
Shreds of his black attire hung by mere threads, burnt and tattered, while his body was a canvas of blood and raw, exposed flesh.
The suns rays illuminated the ghastly sight of his shoulder, now a mere shadow of its former self, hanging loosely by a thread of muscle and tendons and a desperate grip.
Yet, amidst the agony and the defeat, a grin spread across Bakuzan’s face.
"Wonderful... It’s all so wonderful," he muttered under his breath, his voice barely a whisper, yet pulsing with a surprising energy. Limping from tree trunk to tree trunk in retreat.
"I definitely underestimated him, that brat! But mark my words, SSS-Class Hero, I will return. That’s a promise," he vowed, his words a chilling echo in the forest.
"Wonderful... Where did it even come from? It’s like it fell from the sky, so powerful... You’ve truly caught my attention, Bionic!" Bakuzan exclaimed, his eyes glittering with a dangerous malice.
"Argghhh!"
"Tch!"
"I have to get out of here, it won’t be long before that Ice hero comes after me... Especially now that I don’t have the ability to defend myself!"
"Tch! Curse you Bionic!... Come to think of it, he could be here any minute... I have to escape!"
He softly lodged himself against a tree and then proceeded to dip his hand into his pockets using his remaining functioning limb.
He pulled out a phone and with a swift dial he placed the phone against his ear and waited a few seconds.
"Yes, Dr. Kuseno! You were correct, my ego got the best of me..."
"Send backup to my current location, I’ll send you the accurate coordinates..."
"...What type I need?"
"...Haha... They’re civilians here so they would focus more on saving them rather than catching me..."
"Hmm... If I had to choose, how about you send... Wolves!"
Click!
He slammed the phone shut and continued limping onwards through the trees of the forest.
Walking steadily and slowly until he came up to a ridge, then suddenly he stopped dead in tracks as he saw something that put a huge smile across his face.
"Haha! Dr. Kuseno, that was way faster than I expected!" He laughed manically as blood trickled down from the gaping apperture in his left arm.
Just beyond the ridge, a group of men in suits all holding a black brief case in their grasp stood still, staring back at Bakuzan.
"What?!"
He raised an eyebrow at the herd of men, strong in their numbers. Fifteen to twenty of them. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"What are looking at? Go on, finish your task you worthless beings!"
Immediately without saying a word, the herd of men hurriedly opened their individual brief case and pulled out a solid, round shaped, purple-ish substance.
Munch!
They began eating away at the substance with eagerness.
"Haha! That’s the spirit!" Bakuzan yelled.
