Chapter 95: Bakuzan 2

"Tick... Tick... Tick..." Bakuzan clicked his tongue. "We’re almost there..."

"You wanna go?!" Thunderlash yelled back.

"Tick!"

"I see..."

Crack!

Bakuzan’s knuckles cracked as he carved his palms into a claw shape facing the ground.

Bam!

He slammed his right leg into the ground and spread his other with his other palm slamming directly into the ground as well.

Bam!

A red pulse of energy erupted from his palm and broke the floor around him, spread a couple in all directions from him and carving out an image on the ground.

The lines were sharp, sleek and with pointy egdes. Everything came together to form a snowflake carved directly into the earths surface with Bakuzan standing right in the middle.

"Destructive Technique: Red Death!"

Whooomm!

The snow flake pattern glared an intense bloody red colour and then Bakuzan swiftly shifted, lifting his fist as if ready to wrestle and his fist caught fire, a deep, crimson red fire.

Thunderlash could feel the intimidation of Bakuzan skill activation cripping in from the back of his neck. But he wouldn’t let it show face.

Skrrrrr!

Thunderlash dragged his feet across the ground.

"My turn!"

"Skill: Thousand Volts Ripple..."

Bzzt!

Shiioom!

Thunderlash’s whip lashes spiralled out from his wrist and into his palms, then with a large burst they erupted with electricity coursing through the length of the whips.

"Let’s go!"

Boom!

Boom!

The two warriors launched from the ground again, the earth cracking beneath them from the raw energy unleashed.

Fwoooosh!

Bakuzan’s fists blazed crimson red as he twisted his body mid-air, hurling a wide arc of fire from his right hand. The flames curved like a whip, roaring towards Thunderlash with incredible speed.

Crack!

Thunderlash reacted instantly, lashing one of his electrified whips through the sky. The voltage surged outward, slicing through the flames with a snap, dispersing them into glowing embers.

Before his shoes even touched the ground, Bakuzan spun around in midair like a dancer in flight, planting his foot sharply. He thrust both arms forward, his palms flaring like twin furnaces.

"Red Death: Blazing Arc!"

A semicircle of fire erupted from the ground in front of him, racing toward Thunderlash like a tidal wave of flame. The intense heat distorted the air around it.

BZZZT!

Thunderlash raised both whips and slammed them into the earth, causing a surge of electricity to explode outward in a wide radius. The shockwave collided with the flame arc, dispersing it into steam and lightning bursts.

Thunderlash dashed to the right, circling around Bakuzan. He whipped one lash sideways, sending a lightning bolt that zigzagged through the air.

Bakuzan twisted, pivoting on one foot.

With a fierce exhale and a sweeping motion of his arms, a wall of fire rose in front of him, absorbing the bolt. He followed up with a powerful step and a double palm thrust toward Thunderlash’s position.

"Red Death: Infernal Serpent!"

A stream of fire shaped like a twisting snake slithered across the ground, coiling and leaping toward Thunderlash with terrifying speed.

Thunderlash’s eyes narrowed.

Shiiooom!

He leapt backward mid-air, using his whip to fling himself further up. As he soared, he spun and cracked both lashes downward.

"Skill: Split Voltage!"

Twin arcs of lightning tore through the air, targeting the flaming serpent. One hit the head, the other the body, disrupting its form and causing it to burst apart mid-flight in a fiery explosion.

Thunderlash landed with a hard skid, breathing hard, sweat glistening on his face.

Bakuzan didn’t give him a moment to rest.

Boom!

He launched himself into the air again, spinning in a corkscrew motion as he drew a fiery circle with his hands. The trail ignited and formed a ring of flame.

"Red Death: Flare Halo!"

He hurled the blazing circle at Thunderlash like a discus.

Thunderlash’s whips lit up again. With a wild shout, he flung one whip out, letting it coil around the fiery projectile.

Bzzt—CRACK!

The whip absorbed and channeled the heat before hurling the burning ring into the sky where it exploded in a blossom of red flame.

The two landed, facing each other again—breathing hard, sweat dripping, their clothing slightly torn and charred from the exchange.

"Not bad..." Bakuzan grinned. "But I’m just warming up!"

He slid his foot back, raising both hands in a flame-wielding stance, breathing in deeply.

Thunderlash crouched low, letting electricity surge through his arms and whips again. Sparks danced around his body like wild spirits.

"Same here... Let’s raise the stakes."

Thunderlash exhaled sharply and furrowed his eyebrows intensively, a new sense determination erupted within him as his eyes exhumed a wave of killing intent.

"I have nothing to prove to a murderer like you..."

"I can just take you out and move on with my life... In that case..."

"Supreme Skill: Halo Electric Dragon Head—"

His movements were sleek and spotless, swift and perfect. A multi-directional slash attack that targeted Bakuzan from various angles.

Bzzt!

Sizzle!

Sizzle!

Bzzt!

Bakuzan grinned from ear to ear as he witnessed the hero’s clean and spotless attack.

"Yess! That’s the spirit! Give me everything you’ve got!"

Bakuzan moved swiftly like a ghost living a residue image everywhere he touched. He swerved and swerved until the sequence for the Halo Electric Dragon Head was exhausted.

And just like the technique, Thunderlash too was extremely exhausted.

Ice Blast watched in astonishment as her colleague’s attack failed especially after seeing it flourish against the Calamity Creature.

Supreme Skill is a technique honed and used by few, usually from A-Class upwards. Every individual who’s able to be creative enough to use this technique is automatically perceived as strong.

It is usually designed by the user as the final hit that reassured secured victory in the users favor. But in exceptions like this whereby the hit is avoided or evaded it usually takes sometime before the user is able to regain strength or Meta energy to go on fighting.

Except one. Someone like Bionic has unlimited meta energy so he could conjure up multiple and different Supreme Skill as he so please without loosing stamina, strength or Meta energy.

Thunderlash fell to

the ground, knee first as all his energy depleted. His eyes sank and Bakuzan finally saw his opportunity to finish him off.

"Yes, you’re finished..."
