Chapter 100: Under Watchful Eyes

I wondered what would have happened if I hadn’t showed up when I did.

When I arrived, a large portion of the land beside the train was covered in either human being blood or Calamity Creature blood.

Both heroes sent to take care of the situation were badly injured and Bakuzan as he said his name was — The Hero Hunter was no where to be found.

There still wasn’t any lead as to where the Calamity Creatures came out from, it was unwise to think that they’d just come out of thin air in the forest.

Although I did harbour the thought the creatures were directly summoned by Bakuzan. But, after listening to what Thunderlash said about his fight with him it was simply unlikely.

So, Bakuzan. I had a name now, but no face and no lead to his whereabouts aside for the massive snow flake imprint on the ground.

And it wasn’t a coincidence that the wolf-like Calamity Creatures showed just immediately he retreated in escape. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

We are still at square one. No idea as to the origin of these creatures and no whereabouts of the Hero Hunter.

I have to stay on top this this end this whole charade one and for all.

Seeing that Bakuzan was adept on killing Thunderlash first, it would be no surprise if he comes back to finish the job.

And, I still needed to search the forest around the train site for any leads that would take me straight to him.

To do that, I would have to be in more than one place at once which is not possible — at least for now, because you never know what the Forever Core can come up with in the future.

But, I do have one skill in my arsenal that would help me accomplish my goal—

"Skill: Tactical Swarm..."

Tti-ring.

[Active Skill: Tactical Swarm]

[Tactical Swarm Lvl 1]

[Composition: Deploys a swarm of microdrones from internal compartments within the suit. These autonomous drones function as multi-role units—handling recon, crowd control, sabotage, or short-range assault depending on real-time battlefield conditions.

Primary Functions:

Recon Mode: Drones map enemy positions via thermal, motion, and acoustic scans, then feed the data to Masters POV.

Suppression Mode: Emits blinding strobe pulses and directed sound bursts to disorient targets.

Assault Mode: Equips select drones with micro-tasers, acid capsules, or high-velocity needle projectiles.

Disruption Mode: Targets enemy electronics and systems with EMP bursts or signal jammers.]

A Skill that deploys however number of micro drones as I wish, equipped with instructions that are directly communicated to them by me and can accomplish numerous tasks if used properly.

This is the exact moment to test this skill out.

They came out silently and hovered in the air around me, waiting for my command. They had no propellers, no engine, no rocket boosters — nothing. They were just balls made out of the same material as the Forever Armor with a large circular opening in the middle which I assumed to be their ’eyes’.

There was no need to say anything, they were directly linked to the Forever Core’s system so I could transfer information to them without opening mouth to speak.

Without a sound, they dispersed.

Ten of them, one followed the throlly which Thunderlash lying on top and pushed up the first aid ISA aircraft.

One followed Ice Blast who was limping on crutches on her way to the same aircraft.

Two followed random ISA officials around as they cleaned up the area full of corpse and blood.

The rest scattered into the trees ahead.

And just like that the information they were gathering began flushing into my mind like a water fall.

"Amazing... Now I can monitor whoever I want without using the Internet..."

I glanced once more at the aftermath of my assault on the Calamity Creatures, I didn’t hesitate to show mercy. Upon my arrival, they were all dead in seconds and everyone witnessed my freakish abilities.

Then—

Boom!

I blasted into the sky.

"Oh my God! Blondie! Those reporters are still outside the building!"

My mom spoke while looking out of the window in the living room.

It was already late in the evening. Reporters who hadn’t given up yet were still gathered around in the front of the apartments entrance like a swarm of ants.

"Look!!! Someone up there!"

Someone shouted from below after discovering the silhouette of my mother’s body.

Camera flashes followed as they thought it was me looking through the window.

Click! Click! Click!

Seeing all the camera flashes suddenly erupting from here and there below startled my Mom causing her to jump in fright and quickly shut the curtains. She turned around and sighed softly like a scared baby.

"Whew..."

Having returned from my heroic intervention today, I was thinking of taking a bit of a well deserved rest, taking out that Shrimp looking Calamity Creature at the airport and then flying across continents to Sector B at the speed of sound, then taking care of the situation there was a lot for a couple hours.

"Should I go downstairs and say something?" I said back to her.

It was fine for these new found fame to disrupt my peace. However, I was more worried about my Mom’s peace being disrupted. Sge worked a lot and deserved to come home to peaceful and tranquil environment.

Just as I was preparing to step forward—

"No no no... Don’t do that!"

She waved her hands frantically in protest.

"Blondie you are already being bashed on the Internet, so I don’t think you can say anything nicely that would chase away the reporters..."

I raised a confused eyebrow.

"Bashed?"

"Since when did I do something worthy to be bashed for?"

My Mom tilted her head this way and that before speaking.

"Well you see my boy, no matter how good you are there will always be people that see your bad side... Two sides of a coin..."

"Two sides of a coin?"

"Hold on..." She took out her phone and pulled up a couple news articles before pushing it to me.

On the screen, I could see a sharp photo of me standing in front of Tower D, nonchalantly tugged my hands in my pockets while being surrounded by a sea of reporters.

I won’t lie, I don’t know if it was because a professional snapped that photo but it came out looking pretty good. However, when I glanced a bit lower down—

"Who does he think he is not joining a guild?!"

"He already doesn’t care about the reporters... How can he be the strongest hero!?"

"There’s no way he’s better than The Guardian! He’s a joke!"

"I bet anyone 5,000 Units I can kick his ass!..."
