Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress-Chapter 378: Mission
Liora stood in front of a giant tablet and pressed the Killer Medallion on it as a long list of missions emerged in her mind.
The difficulty and content of these missions varied.
Some had a rating of 1 Star and were safe for even recently-advanced True Devils to accept, while some were rated as 6 Stars and even Greater Devils would struggle to complete them.
As for the missions with a rating beyond that?
Liora did not have access to them, limited by her 4-Star Killer rank.
If she wished to accept higher-rated missions, she first had to increase her Killer rank.
And to do so was quite simple: by accepting and completing more tasks.
Thinking of this, Liora’s consciousness wandered in the sea of information.

...
There were countless missions available for Killers to choose from.
Most of them were about killing people, wiping out families, or destroying cities, and it was very rare for any task to require something different.
Clearly, the word "Slaughter" in the organization’s name was not an accident, but clearly pointed to the force’s main theme.
In fact, if Liora were asked to choose, she would have rather named it the "Assassins Guild".
While these inexplicable thoughts were going through her mind, she did not stop searching through the tasks.
She continued reading them one after another, looking for a mission that suited her needs.
Soon, she discovered something that piqued her interest.
...
[Mission: Help the Universe Chamber of Commerce control a medium-level world]
[Rating: 5 Stars]
[Reward: A fifty percent discount while buying products from the Chamber of Commerce. The coordinates of a lower-level world suitable for development. Clues about a Soul-related Greater Devil Technique]
[Participants: A maximum of five]
[Requirements: Sufficient Strength. The participants will be judged before the mission begins]
...
Liora’s eyes scanned through the mission, and she felt nothing at first, planning to skim through it just like the rest of them.
However, when she saw the rewards near the end, her eyes suddenly lit up.
She didn’t care about the discount, but the coordinates of a lower-level world were quite tempting.
Since it was stated that it was a world suitable for "development", it meant that it was a world that could provide help to powerful Devils.
Whether it was for testing power systems, conducting experiments in foreign lifeforms, or even using it as a pasture to cultivate beings to devour, such a world was quite useful, and many Devils yearned to obtain one.
However, though interested, most of Liora’s attention was not on this. Instead, her eyes shone as they landed the final reward.
A Soul-related Greater Devil Technique.
Obtaining this was exactly the purpose of Liora joining the Slaughter Tavern, and it was something she required for her plans to deal with the World Devourer ancestor.
Although the mission only offered a clue as a reward and not the entire technique, Liora was not disappointed.
Compared to other techniques, those that enhanced the soul were quite rare and precious, mostly in the hands of True Spirit Greater Devils.
Don’t be fooled by the fact that Demonforce could be used to temper one’s soul.
The effect of doing so was minuscule, barely better than nothing.
Its main function, just like the name would suggest, was to temper the physical body rather than the soul.
Therefore, even though it was just a clue, Liora was quite tempted.
While keeping this mission in mind, she went through the rest of the missions, fearing that she might miss a better opportunity.
However, even after she was finished reading them, she found nothing of similar value.
Although there were missions with a similar reward, they were many times more difficult and troublesome to complete.
From the description, Liora knew that the first mission would only take a few days at most. On the other hand, the other missions required months, if not years, to complete.
After pondering for a while, she finally made her decision.
Instantly, her consciousness communicated with the Killer Medallion and the giant tablet, showing her intent to accept the mission.
Information instantly poured out of the medallion and into her mind.
Part of it was a more lengthy description of the mission, while the rest was the location agreed upon with the Universe Chamber of Commerce, as well as the time that they and the participants would meet.
Liora counted the time and realized that the time was approaching. Obviously, the mission had not been added just recently, but had been there for quite some time.
By now, the time for everyone to gather was near.
For this, Liora showed no dissatisfaction. If anything, she wished that the mission would start even sooner.
She wanted to get this mission done and obtain the Soul-related Devil Technique as soon as possible.
Placing away the Killer Medallion and taking a final look at the tavern around her, Liora finally turned around and exited the building.
She didn’t immediately rush to the place agreed upon with the Universe Chamber of Commerce. She wanted to return to the mansion first and deal with some things.
Most importantly, Liora was planning to let Alpha accompany her during the mission.
--
Half a day later, two women walked into the building of the Universe Chamber of Commerce, one walking half a step behind the other.
The guards at the entrance did not dare to stop them. They bowed respectfully and let them pass, not even checking their credentials.
They were familiar with this by now. Several Devils had gathered within the building over the past few days, amounting to more than a few dozen.
At first, the guards were truly scared, fearing that these people were going to attack the Chamber of Commerce and kill them.
Fortunately, the person in charge comforted them and let them know:
These people did not have any bad intentions. In fact, they were hired by the owner to complete a great mission!
