Everyone's Class: One Effort, 10,000x Bonus Reward!-Chapter 269: The Swarm Artifact? Chaos in The Black City
Trouble?
Aiden’s pupils shrank instantly. Even though he saw nothing, he was ready to activate his Legendary Rank skill, Shadow Stealth, right away.
But at that exact moment, the Radiant Blade suddenly emitted a soft white light.
These rays quickly formed a semi-transparent film, covering both Aiden and himself.
"Stay quiet! Don’t make a single sound, or we’ll be in big trouble," Bella’s voice rang out again.
Aiden was about to nod when he suddenly felt a terrifying pressure crash down from the sky.
He looked up and saw that somewhere above, a mass of red clouds had appeared out of nowhere.
The sky of the Abyss, which was pitch black, had now strangely turned a dark crimson, looking just like the end of the world.
Just then, those red clouds began to plummet rapidly.
Aiden soon realized they weren’t clouds at all—they were countless mosquito-sized red bugs.
What was even weirder was that each bug’s abdomen bore a pattern resembling a human face, making them look utterly creepy.
At this moment, the Abyss creatures in this area also sensed the danger approaching and started fleeing in a frenzy.
Buzz!
Countless red mosquitoes flapped their wings in unison.
Aiden instantly felt his ears assault, an indescribable ringing filling his head.
Then, he felt his legs lose all their Strength, nearly collapsing to the ground. Fortunately, he quickly summoned the Abyssthe Flame Demon staff to lean on, saving himself from falling.
The Abyss creatures around him, which had been fleeing in a panic, suddenly stopped dead in their tracks, frozen in place.
Next, those red mosquitoes with human faces on their bellies swooped down like lightning, rapidly engulfing the Abyss creatures.
In just one or two seconds, the ground of the Abyss was covered with white skeletons.
"Irene, there’s no escaping! Hand over the Swarm secret treasure, or face the consequences!" Suddenly, a black figure flashed into the air above the swarm.
Aiden caught just a glimpse and instantly froze, slightly stunned.
It was a unique white Skeleton. Its empty eye sockets held no flesh or blood—only two faintly flickering black flames.
Buzz!
The red mosquitoes gathered quickly, their wings vibrating furiously to produce a screeching sound.
"Allen, you’re just dreaming!"
"You Skeletons are merely a subordinate race of the Swarm. Now, you dare betray us while the Swarm is still reviving?"
"Even if I die, I will never tell you where the secret treasure is hidden!"
Allen, the Skeleton, watched his black flames dance in his sockets and spoke calmly:
"Betray the Swarm?"
"You red mosquitoes are just a branch of the Swarm. Besides, this time, our Skeleton race is simply following orders from ’Him’."
"Irene, stop your futile struggle."
Hearing these words, Aiden’s eyes widened in shock.
He had heard of the Skeleton race before; they were similar to the Abyss Demons.
Humans had some knowledge of them, but terms like "the Swarm" or "the Crimson Mosquito Clan" were completely new to him.
However, if the Skeletons were just a subordinate race of the Swarm, then the Swarm must be incredibly powerful!
Aiden wondered: Could the Swarm be the King-rank Abyss race he had heard about earlier?
"So, this swarm led by Irene knows the location of a secret treasure from a King-rank Abyss race?"
"Is it a Mythic-rank treasure? Something like a fragment of a holy artifact? Or maybe a complete holy artifact?"
The best equipment Aiden currently owned was the Mythic-rank "Bane of All Races" ring and the blessing of the High Miko.
As for holy artifact fragments or complete artifacts, he had only seen them in passing. He had never handled one up close, let alone owned one.
At that moment, another realization struck him. No wonder the Abyss Demons were constantly trying to invade Earth, while the Skeleton race, much like the Demons, had remained silent.
It turned out the Skeletons were actually busy fighting a branch of the Swarm known as the Crimson Mosquito Clan!
Demons, Miko, Wraiths, Skeletons, the Swarm...
Honestly, the crisis facing Earth was unimaginable. Just one Abyss Demon race had made every nation and all Reclassers on Earth feel helpless.
If even one or two more Abyss races like the Demon invaded, humanity would be doomed!
"I have to get stronger! I need to increase my power as fast as possible!" Aiden’s eyes hardened with determination.
Just then, Skeleton Allen let out a cold snort and shouted, "I’ve already given you your chance, but you clearly didn’t know how to value it!"
"DIE!"
In the next instant, the black flames in his eye sockets leaped out, hovering in mid-air.
Immediately, the corpses and skeletons on the ground of the Abyss began to vibrate. Like lightning, they shot toward Allen.
Allen absorbed these bones and remains, growing rapidly until he formed a massive Skeleton standing a hundred meters tall!
Seeing this, the cluster of red mosquitoes didn’t hesitate for a second. They fled directly into the distance.
"Hmph, running away? Let’s see where you can go!" Allen sneered.
Suddenly, black flames erupted from most of his giant bones, burning furiously.
Boom!
A massive explosion of energy rocked the ground, instantly creating a huge crater hundreds of meters wide beneath Allen’s feet.
Then, his body shot upward like a rocket, chasing after Irene’s fleeing direction.
"Alright, they’re gone. We should be safe now," Bella’s voice suddenly spoke up.
Aiden watched the direction where Irene disappeared and asked, "How strong are those two Abyss creatures? They don’t feel like Abyss Demon Gods."
The Radiant Blade turned back into a woman the size of a fist, looking slightly annoyed at Aiden as she said coolly:
"Both of them are equivalent to a human Great Venerable, reaching the level of a Demon Grand Duke."
"Weren’t you wondering why I didn’t step in?"
Aiden nodded slowly. Earlier, at the front line, the mid-tier Abyss Demon God, Theodore, had been defeated—the Radiant Blade had even severed his arm.
Logically, the Skeleton and those red mosquitoes shouldn’t have been a match for her.
Bella fell silent for a moment before explaining, "I am just an equipment. Even though I am very special, my tier is only Mythic Rank."
"If I were alone, I could at most defeat a level 90 Abyss creature."
"Plus, you’re here. If that fight had broken out, I wouldn’t have had the energy to protect you."
Bella sounded clearly annoyed, her patience wearing thin.
She didn’t want to admit it, but it was true: without her soul control, her power was severely limited.
The original plan had been for Bella to control her while they both entered the Abyss together.
But some unexpected event had ruined that, leading to this situation.
At first, she hadn’t taken it seriously. It was just a trip to the Black City; what danger could there be? 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Now, barely a few hours after entering the Abyss, they had already faced two Great Venerable-level Abyss creatures.
Suddenly, Bella thought this Abyss journey might not go as smoothly as planned.
Looking at Aiden before her, she muttered to herself: "Now I realize... this guy is so much like Bella!"
"When I traveled with her back then, we kept running into powerful masters, and danger seemed to follow us everywhere."
"Sigh, we’d better just hurry to the Black City. With the Black City’s lord and Wraith Jack there, it should be safe enough."
...
Two or three hours later, Aiden stood on a high ridge with Bella, silently gazing at the distant Black City.
Below, several massive Skeletons, each towering a hundred meters high, were closing in, surrounding the city.
Allen, the Skeleton Aiden had seen earlier, stood among them.
He stood silently behind another hundred-meter-tall Skeleton shaped like a fierce tiger.
"Last warning!" the Tiger Skeleton roared. "Hand over Irene of the Crimson Mosquito Clan, and we will not attack the Black City. We’ll leave as fast as we can!"
Aiden watched the scene with a helpless sigh and whispered to Bella, "Well, looks like we can’t get in now."
Those huge Skeletons radiated such terrifying pressure; they must all be Great Venerable-level creatures.
Hardly had he finished speaking when Bella stared at him, confused. "What is wrong with you? Why does every moment with you feel like a disaster?"
Aiden instinctively rubbed his nose and shook his head. He hadn’t even used his Twin Coin yet.
"What should we do?" Aiden asked.
Bella sighed quickly. "What else can we do? Just wait."
"That chased Irene is actually pretty smart. She knew hiding inside the Black City would grant her temporary safety."
Aiden glanced at the massive army of Skeletons and couldn’t help but ask, "Safe? Can the Black City even hold out against so many powerful Skeletons?"
"Relax," Bella answered immediately. "The lord of the Black City isn’t your average guy. You’ll see. Even if an Abyss Demon God showed up, he wouldn’t flinch."
Hearing this, Aiden felt a surge of curiosity. He really wanted to see what happened next.
Suddenly, a figure appeared above the Black City, clad in black battle armor and wielding a massive halberd.
"Give you three seconds to leave, or you’ll stay here forever."
