Chapter 536: Chapter 529: Study Room

Cheng Shishi sat on the sofa, looked around the room, and kept rubbing her hands. In her mind, she was resisting the idea that Wu Chengzu might be Nawa.

She couldn’t believe that a man so clean and elegant could be such a terrifying person. He obviously liked her elder sister; if he really was Nawa, shouldn’t he have killed her sister long ago? How could he have let her live until now?

So, he must not be! It must be that she was mistaken!

"Teacher Xiao Cheng, did you come to see me for something?" Wu Jingjing thought Cheng Shishi had come to see her.

Cheng Shishi shook her head, "I’m here for your dad for a bit."

"My dad..." Wu Jingjing pouted and sat on the sofa, "My dad is not home. Lately, he seems very busy and doesn’t care about me!"

"Oh." Cheng Shishi nodded gloomily, "I’ll wait for him."

Wu Jingjing tilted her head, looking at Cheng Shishi, always feeling she was a bit strange, "Teacher Xiao Cheng, is there nothing between you and my dad?"

"Nothing..." Cheng Shishi shook her head.

Wu Jingjing stayed with Cheng Shishi for a while in the living room. At first, she was very happy since she was quite bored being home alone, and Cheng Shishi’s arrival brightened her up. However, over time, Wu Jingjing noticed that Cheng Shishi wasn’t chatting with her, just sitting silently on the sofa, which caused Wu Jingjing to lose patience. She left Cheng Shishi alone in the living room and went back to her room to play on the computer.

Soon, the sound of games came from Wu Jingjing’s room. Cheng Shishi glanced at Wu Jingjing’s room, confirmed she wouldn’t come out for a while, then carefully stood up from the sofa and tiptoed towards Wu Chengzu’s room.

The door to Wu Chengzu’s room was locked, and Cheng Shishi couldn’t get in. Unexpectedly, she managed to open the door to the adjacent study room.

Inside, apart from a desk and a chair, the space was almost entirely taken up by bookshelves. The shelves were packed with books, so tightly that not a single gap was visible.

Cheng Shishi wandered among the bookshelves, the dazzling array of book titles making her dizzy. She knew Wu Chengzu was a graduate from a prestigious school with a high level of education.

The books on the shelf all had signs of being read, proving he was a book lover.

Cheng Shishi found it hard to believe that a well-educated man who loved books would be involved with drugs.

Her eyes moved along the neatly arranged books inside the bookshelf, finally focusing on the row of photo albums at the bottom.

Cheng Shishi pulled out an album from the bookshelf, her fingers hesitating on the album cover, feeling nervous about the unknown contents inside.

Bam!

A huge noise came from Wu Chengzu’s study, startling Wu Jingjing, who was playing games in the bedroom.

"Teacher Xiao Cheng, is that you?" Wu Jingjing came out of the bedroom, looking unhappy, "Don’t go into my dad’s study, it’s off-limits. He’ll be angry if he finds out!"

The study was Wu Chengzu’s forbidden area. Wu Jingjing had accidentally entered once before, and Wu Chengzu had been furious.

Since then, both Wu Chengzu’s study and bedroom doors had been kept locked. Although Wu Jingjing thought her dad’s behavior was pretty weird, she didn’t say much about it. After all, the rooms were full of nothing but boring books.

Wu Jingjing ran towards the study and collided head-on with Cheng Shishi, who was running out, causing them both to fall to the ground.

"Ouch... that hurts... Teacher Xiao Cheng, my dad’s study is off-limits..."

As Wu Jingjing stood up, rubbing her back, Cheng Shishi had already scrambled away in a panic.

"Teacher Xiao Cheng!"

Wu Jingjing tried to call out to Cheng Shishi, but she had already opened the door and run out.

Wu Chengzu’s study was in a mess, and Wu Jingjing walked in with a troubled expression, wondering if her dad would scold her when he came back in the evening.

Perhaps it was better to call her dad and tell him first.

Wu Jingjing squatted down and picked up the scattered photos, finding a picture of a young Wu Chengzu with a woman she didn’t recognize.

"Huh?" Wu Jingjing’s gaze fell on Wu Chengzu’s exposed ankle, "So Dad has such a birthmark on his ankle? Looks like a snake. But who is that woman?"
