Eternal Life Starts from Tai Chi-Chapter 155: The Servant Twin Stars
When Yang Chan left the Medicine Hall Collection Pavilion, he was carrying several new books: *Alchemy Record*, *Xu Yi’s Alchemy Insights*, and *Hu Yu’s Medicine Manufacturing Record*. They were all about insights into refining elixirs. He’d flipped through them and noted they all recorded experiences with the First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pill, which he knew would be helpful.
He couldn’t finish them in the Medicine Hall Collection Pavilion, so he had to borrow them to read, contemplate, and study in detail back at his residence.
Some of the notes were deceptively simple, but they required careful consideration of *why* the author arranged the ingredients or added them at certain times.
The timing for adding different ingredients and the total refining duration could produce wildly different medicinal effects. Some ingredients could even turn into Poison if left too long, so one had to think through all the possible transformations.
All of this required time to ponder, which was why Yang Chan didn’t try to absorb it all in the Medicine Hall Collection Pavilion and simply took the books with him.
Once he got them back to his residence, he would have all the time in the world to read and study them.
"Pharmacist Yang, please wait a moment."
As Yang Chan was walking back to his residence after leaving the Library Pavilion, a man he didn’t recognize called out to him.
Yang Chan was certain he had never seen this person before.
The Cyan Yuan Sect had countless disciples, and he certainly hadn’t met them all. However, as a Pharmacist, he had seen most of the disciples who had been injured, and the man before him was not one of them.
"Are you calling for me, Senior Brother?"
"May I ask what you need, Senior Brother?"
Yang Chan glanced at the disciples passing by. Seeing no other Pharmacists, he confirmed the man was addressing him and continued his inquiry.
Lately, quite a few strangers had been showing him goodwill, so this sort of thing was normal.
Even though the man before him was an Elite Disciple, it was highly likely he had similar intentions. It wasn’t surprising.
"My name is Han Yu. I’m also an Elite Disciple in the Medicine Hall. I’ve heard Pharmacist Yang has some Lantian Jade Refining Pills, and I was wondering if you might be willing to sell three to me?"
"I’m willing to pay twenty percent more than your price on Cyan Fish Street."
Han Yu’s attitude was warm, even humble. He didn’t pull rank as a senior brother, instead inquiring with a modest posture.
This approach easily made a good impression on people.
Before becoming a Pharmacist, Yang Chan had seen his share of arrogant senior brothers with higher cultivation who acted like they were about to teach him a lesson on how to behave.
In the Cyan Yuan Sect, this was actually very common.
But as his own status rose, he saw fewer and fewer of those people.
It was always the ones with little substance, whose own status wasn’t high, who couldn’t see themselves clearly.
Yang Chan wasn’t surprised that someone wanted to buy elixirs, but the man’s name did catch him off guard.
He remembered that a genius disciple named Han Yu had once emerged from the ranks of the Medicine Hall’s Servant Disciples, becoming an Official Disciple in six months and an Elite Disciple in three years. Judging by this man’s age, he was very likely that same person—the legendary figure whispered about among the Servant Disciples, a man they had all but deified to the point of wanting to burn incense in his name. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"I don’t have many Lantian Jade Refining Pills on hand right now. I’ll be refining a new batch in three days. Senior Brother Han, you can come to my residence then, or find them on Cyan Fish Street. Either way is fine, and you can just pay the original price."
After glancing at him, Yang Chan didn’t take out the Lantian Jade Refining Pills he had. The elixirs he kept on his person were for his own use; he naturally wouldn’t sell them to anyone else.
Not even to this figure admired by countless Servant Disciples.
The man was clearly a genius. Even as he stood there, his body was constantly tempering his skin and flesh, which revealed a brassy sheen. He had obviously reached the second stage and wasn’t far from the third, Ancient Bronze.
He had been an Elite Disciple for about two years, and to have reached this stage in that time was a mark of genius, surpassing most in the Cyan Yuan Sect. Many saw him as a promising candidate for becoming a Direct Disciple, but that didn’t change Yang Chan’s attitude.
’So what if he’s a genius? Is he more of a genius than I am?’
"Thank you, Pharmacist Yang. In three days, I’ll be sure to visit your residence to purchase the elixirs."
Even though he couldn’t get the elixirs immediately, Han Yu’s demeanor remained humble. He agreed to the time Yang Chan proposed without a hint of displeasure or any attempt to pressure him.
Yang Chan couldn’t tell if this was Han Yu’s true character or just the face he showed him, but it didn’t matter. For now, the man was just a customer, and that was all.
"Alright."
Clutching the books he had borrowed, Yang Chan continued on his way. If he hadn’t already had an impression of Han Yu, the man would have just been another vaguely friendly face among many.
Whether Han Yu had come over specifically to get acquainted and show goodwill wasn’t important.
’In any case, I plan on staying within the Cyan Yuan Sect. Until my cultivation reaches the Inner Master realm, I’m absolutely not leaving the mountain. And even after I break through to Inner Master, I’ll still have to think carefully about whether it’s worth leaving.’
Therefore, no matter what ulterior motives the man might have, they couldn’t affect his safety.
"So this is the other ’Twin Star of the Servants,’ Yang Chan. Interesting."
Han Yu muttered to himself after watching Yang Chan leave.
Han Yu was well aware that he was famous among the Servant Disciples. Even the Official Disciples knew of him. Not many could rise from a Servant Disciple to an Elite Disciple in just three years—and even fewer could do it without any resources backing them.
Many within the Sect, including several Elders, were optimistic about his future.
Someone had already promised to take him on as a disciple once he broke through to the External Refining Steel Rebar realm, allowing him to enjoy some of the privileges of a Direct Disciple ahead of time. This was within the authority of an Inner Refining Elder, and Han Yu was, of course, thrilled.
No matter how great one’s Martial Arts Talent was, you still needed a vast amount of Cultivation Resources to advance your Martial Arts Cultivation quickly. That was an undeniable fact.
His awareness of Yang Chan, however, had begun when he accidentally overheard a shared nickname.
Someone in the Medicine Hall had started calling him and Yang Chan the ’Twin Stars of the Servants.’ It wasn’t meant as a joke, but as a term of respect.
Anyone who could rise from the ranks of the Servant Disciples naturally faced far greater hardships than those from Noble Families or Sect lineages who started as Official Disciples. The obstacles to overcome were innumerable.
He was proud of his own achievement—going from an obscure Servant Disciple to an Elite Disciple in three years. But he was also keenly aware of his own disadvantage: with no Noble Family to support him, he had to rely on himself. He had no intention of selling his future to a Noble Family, either, as he had more faith in his own potential.
So when Yang Chan suddenly emerged as the other ’Twin Star of the Servants,’ Han Yu naturally took notice. After learning about Yang Chan’s history, he was utterly shocked.
It had taken Yang Chan two and a half years just to comprehend Power. But after becoming an Official Disciple, he had rapidly become a Pharmacist’s Assistant, then a full Pharmacist, and had then leveraged his position as a Pharmacist to break through to the External Refining Copper Skin Realm and become an Elite Disciple.
That whole process had taken only about a year—even faster than his own rise.
Although Yang Chan’s Martial Arts Talent seemed average, his gift for Alchemy was so great that it left many other Pharmacists in the dust. And that meant Yang Chan would never lack for Cultivation Resources.
After learning of Yang Chan’s story, he had taken the initiative to come and build a good relationship.
