Chapter 110: Chapter 110: The Choice of Enhancement, the Priority Target

Tan Yun Mansion.

Room Geng.

The injured disciples who were brought over weren’t in serious condition. Even those who had come down the mountain with Yang Chan and the others had learned to be on guard after facing the No-Life Evil Cult’s various insidious techniques over the past few days.

They had prepared plenty of protective gear, so the chances of ordinary people succeeding in their attacks were much lower. Few commoners could injure an Official Disciple, especially a prepared one, with the exception of unknown area-of-effect attacks—like the Rainstorm Pear Blossom Needle—or various methods of poisoning.

But now that the Cyan Yuan Sect disciples were all prepared, the chances of such attacks succeeding were dwindling.

With fewer injured disciples, Yang Chan’s workload began to ease up, but only relatively.

If they encountered a member of the No-Life Evil Cult at the Incense Master Level, there would inevitably be casualties.

After all, when cultivators at the External Iron Bone stage clashed, even bystanders could get caught in the crossfire.

Although the Combat Power of such figures didn’t reach the level of someone like Liu Shengyu, it was still not to be underestimated.

As a master of External Iron Bone Refining himself, Yang Chan understood the gap in power all too well.

He and Han Bingyu entered Room Geng. After applying simple bandages to the injured disciples, they sent the lightly wounded ones away. For the most part, all they needed was to drink some Qi Nourishing Soup and eat some Strengthening and Nourishing Porridge.

The Official Disciples of the Cyan Yuan Sect already had strong Physiques, and coupled with their youth, their physical injuries would heal quickly with dietary and medicinal supplements after their wounds were bandaged.

Only those with more severe injuries were allowed to stay in Room Geng for further observation, a policy enacted due to the large number of wounded being sent over.

Of course, if they felt something was still wrong, they could come back for another examination; it wasn’t as if they were abandoned after a single visit.

The treatment for the few injured disciples was completed quickly.

After watching them leave, Yang Chan returned to his room.

He was getting ever closer to Tempering all 206 bones in his body with the Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist. He naturally wanted to reach this stage as quickly as possible, as it would grant him the Nine Oxen and Two Tigers Strength and cause a qualitative leap in his Combat Power.

Although he was currently in the External Refining Iron Bone Realm, after gaining the Power of One Tiger, he could clearly feel the increase in his strength and the change in his Combat Power.

Adding the power of another tiger would be an even greater qualitative leap. He could also combine it with the Nine Oxen’s Strength for an even bigger boost. In such a dangerous place, Yang Chan’s main goal was to improve his strength.

’At this rate, in about ten more days, I can cultivate the Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist to Tier Four Masterful, and the Tiger Demon Martial Seal to Tier Three Mastery.’

Yang Chan mentally calculated the Potential Points he would need.

During his time in Tan Yun Mansion, his daily income had recovered to 2.3 points. He wouldn’t be short on medicinal ingredients anytime soon, and if he needed more, he would let the Medicine Hall know in advance to arrange a delivery to Tan City.

The entire Cyan Yuan Sect was currently sending all sorts of medicinal resources to Tan City in a united effort against the No-Life Evil Cult. As a result, there was no shortage of Cultivation Resources in the city. As a Pharmacist, Yang Chan’s authority to refine and use ingredients was much greater here than back at the sect, and the quantities he could access had also increased.

This was one of the benefits of leaving the mountain; his medicinal expenses had dropped considerably.

Although Yang Chan wasn’t short on money after successfully Refining the Lantian Jade Refining Pill, saving some was still a good thing. After all, Refining better Elixirs would naturally cost more money.

Ordinary medicines didn’t grant Yang Chan many Potential Points; the better the Elixir, the more points it provided. Naturally, Yang Chan set his sights on Elixirs that were more difficult to Refine.

Though such Elixirs were difficult to Refine, their effects were excellent.

The benefits they brought Yang Chan were also much greater.

’Once I reach the Peak of External Iron Bone Refining, should I upgrade my Pharmacist class first, or continue improving the Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist, or another Cultivation Technique?’

Yang Chan hesitated at the thought.

Hoarding Potential Points was the most unwise choice. Upgrading his Pharmacist class meant focusing on Refining Elixirs, which was a solid long-term plan; after all, there was no downside to being better at Alchemy.

Continuing to improve his Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist, however, would increase the potential of his External Iron Bone Refining and strengthen his foundation.

As for other Cultivation Techniques, his options were to focus on life-preservation, a Body Technique, or Swordsmanship.

The first option aligned with his long-standing goal, the second was good for escaping, and the third was for self-defense. While not useless, it wasn’t Yang Chan’s best option.

If he could somehow obtain the Flood Dragon Demon Breath Method, Yang Chan wouldn’t be in such a dilemma. His ultimate goal had always been to reach the level of an Inner Master, but since that option wasn’t currently available, he had to consider the others carefully.

’I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. There’s no use getting hung up on it now.’

Yang Chan’s brow furrowed slightly. He stopped mulling over these things and instead began practicing the Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist in his room.

It was more practical to practice his fist technique than to get lost in thought. It raised his Cultivation, and while the progress wasn’t as obvious as just spending Potential Points, he could still clearly feel himself getting stronger.

The rising proficiency on his status panel was also good feedback.

This was the residence of Medicine Hall Master Gu An.

"Hall Master Gu, our recent efforts have been very effective. The No-Life Evil Cult’s sphere of activity is shrinking. We’ve also found a trail leading to Shen Yuan, the one who first came to proselytize for the cult. We should prioritize dealing with him!"

"I hear his nickname is ’Shen the Runner.’ His cultivation of his Body Technique is supposedly outstanding. We should deal with him first before he gets away."

Lü Zhenghai had come to Gu An’s residence to discuss their next move.

The operation against the No-Life Evil Cult was primarily managed by these two men. One was the Hall Master of the Law Enforcement Hall, the other the Hall Master of the Medicine Hall. Their status as Hall Masters gave them an additional title over other Elders, placing real power in their hands.

Some Elders in the Cyan Yuan Sect held the title without the corresponding duties. They weren’t in charge of any specific affairs—people like Wu Qihao and Luo Zhenhai—and thus held less power.

The others were the Hall Masters of the various halls. They controlled tangible power, had numerous followers, and were the true Stewards of the Cyan Yuan Sect, possessing the authority to allocate Cultivation Resources.

Even Inner Masters required Cultivation Resources—and in far greater quantity and of higher quality than External Cultivation Disciples.

To become a Hall Master meant one was the strongest in their respective hall, although some would voluntarily step down due to old age.

But for the most part, the Hall Master of each hall was the strongest member. After all, with Cultivation on the line, the Elders qualified to challenge for the position wouldn’t just stand by and watch.
