Eternal Freedom's Ascension-Chapter 93: Semester Break
Time seemed to speed up real fast, and before they knew it, the final exams had ended.
In Class-E, Kaiser ranked first as usual. No one was surprised, as it had been ingrained in their minds that he had transcended them all. The overall result of the class wasn’t too bad. Eric, Logan, and Jose were able to successfully pass the three core subjects with slightly better grades. Compared to the results during the midterm, there was an improvement.
Of course they still lagged behind other classes academically. However, that was none of their concerns right now. The semester break had arrived, and it was the time they could finally enjoy themselves without any worries.
"Let’s visit the pools! It’s been so long!" Kiera cried out, pulling Liam’s arm endearingly.
"Hm. That’s not a bad idea. But it’ll be tomorrow." He nodded, then turned to the others. "How about we make it a group activity?"
Immediately, Astron facepalmed. ’Shouldn’t you know when your girlfriend wants a private moment?’
However, it was already too late. The girls who liked Liam and wanted to spend time with him immediately rushed at the opportunity, agreeing with him.
Kiera was displeased, but didn’t let it show in her mood. After all, she was the leader of the girls group and couldn’t openly call them out for lusting after her boyfriend.
Liam turned to Jose and his friends. "Will you be joining?"
The boy nodded casually. "Why not? It’s going to be fun."
Then, Liam asked Hazel and Mordica if they’d be coming. Hazel indifferently agreed, while Mordica declined as usual. Unexpectedly, Sebastian spoke before Liam could ask him.
"You all should be prepared to gaze upon and worship my perfect body. Don’t take this opportunity lightly."
Several expressions turned weird, but they tactically decided not to retort.
"Well, Kaiser?" Liam turned to him, a light smile on his face.
Kaiser closed the book in his hand, closing his eyes to think. Finally, he sighed.
"I’d have attended, but I wouldn’t be available. So that’s a no."
Liam accepted this, then started trying to get a reservation through the website.
Hazel turned toward her eccentric seatmate. "You said you’d be unavailable. Do you have any plans for the holiday already?"
"Oh well," Kaiser shrugged. "I’d be off campus doing some tasks. Nothing too serious."
"Off campus?" Hazel was surprised, almost raising her voice.
"Hm." He nodded, "You shouldn’t think too much. It doesn’t concern you, after all."
Saying this, he carried his bag and left the class.
’He’s leaving the island? Isn’t it prohibited? Or is it that there are procedures needed?’
She thought cluelessly, very much surprised. She turned to her other seatmate, then asked.
"Do you think it’s possible to leave the academy grounds?"
Ariel replied without looking. "Yes. As long as you have enough reasons. Otherwise, you’ll end up dead if you try it illegally."
......
Immediately Kaiser left the class, he headed straight to Class-C. Standing at the door, his arrival shocked the students still present in the classroom.
One of them immediately picked up his phone to alert Apollo, who had left the class with his gang earlier. Kaiser ignored them all and gently beckoned for Maya to come outside.
The girl was flustered, but complied and came to meet him.
"I came to inform you that I wouldn’t be in the academy during the holiday. I need to return home."
The revelation stunned Maya, and she stared at him blankly for a few seconds.
After she recovered, she lowered her head and said. "It must be very urgent, right?"
Kaiser shook his head. "Not urgent. But just something I should have done before enrolling."
"Oh." She nodded, then gave him a frail smile. "I understand. Good luck with it."
Struggling to hold that smile, she immediately turned around and returned into the class. In her hand, a small paper was tightly squeezed. It contained the plans she had made about how they’d spend some days in the holiday together. Unfortunately, it was all in vain.
Kaiser noticed her state of mind, but didn’t do anything.
’Too much emotional attachment and I might affect her nature—altering her true color before it is revealed.’
Ding!
A notification from his phone caught his attention, and he immediately checked. It was a message from the Chairman.
|C.J: You have been granted access to leave the academy. Your uncle sent quite a luxurious transport and it’s already waiting. Now out of my school, boy. I wouldn’t want to keep the barriers lifted for long.|
Kaiser chuckled at the old man’s humor, then leisurely returned to his room.
He set down his bag, changed into normal clothes, then headed towards the shore. There, someone familiar was already waiting for him.
Gomez stood rigid, his cold eyes sweeping over Kaiser analytically.
"Hm, you don’t look that different."
Kaiser rolled his eyes. "Your portals again? Ugh."
Gomez ignored his displeasure and simply opened a portal beneath Kaiser’s feet. Unfazed, the boy fell through the hole without making a sound.
After closing the portal, Gomez looked into the air. His voice turned degrees colder.
"You should stop peeking like kids, Monarchs."
Then without saying anything else, he created another portal and left through it.
......
As soon as Kaiser felt his environment change, he tilted his head.
Pew!
A small dart shot past him, embedding itself into the wall behind him. The air here was oppressive, very distinct from the casual and light atmosphere of the academy.
"Welcoming me with an attack. Isn’t that too rude?"
Of course he wasn’t offended, as that was the usual thing within the clan. It was their way of greeting each other.
"And look who’s coming unannounced? Brother." Izael said dryly, his expression lacking its usual liveliness.
"You must have been on a lot of missions lately." Kaiser noticed, his smile receding slightly.
"The usual." Izael shrugged indifferently.
Kaiser nodded and then asked. "Your ability?"
The other boy shrugged, then split into six. Looking at him, they all spoke in unison.
"Improving. My current limit is 10."
Kaiser grimaced. "Don’t bring up bad memories. I dislike people saying the same thing at once."
At that moment, Gomez’s portal opened, and he appeared in the hall with them.
"Enough chit-chat. The Patriarch awaits your presence."
