Chapter 163: Full Moon

Rowan realized that Aleister was heading towards the prison and he caught up to him.

’’I forgot to tell you....’’ He was a bit cautious while speaking. Aleister did not seem to be in a great mood earlier this day and now he was eerily calm after his father’s death.

It seemed like the calm before the storm.

’’What else?" Aleister asked without sparing a glance at him.

’’The Norwell Family... they reached out to me today...’’

’’Your Highness.’’

Aleister’s footsteps came to a halt.

Marcus Norwell walked towards the man followed by his children.

Lucian narrowed his eyes at his sister who was admiring Aleister’s back.

’’It was not our intention to disturb you at a time like this,’’ Marcus Norwell said as they stood in front of Aleister, ’’I heard about the King and we should have given you some time alone...’’

’’You are already disturbing me,’’ Aleister said indifferently, ’’Speak!"

Luciana glanced at Aleister. He looked impatient and there was a fleck of anger in his eyes. Way more desirable in this state. She had never seen anyone talking to her father in this tone. And even she was showered with attention wherever she went, partially because of her origins. Because she came from the mysterious and powerful Defire Kingdom and she was both beautiful and powerful, she never lacked anything. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

But this man didn’t want her. More of a reason for her to pay attention to him.

’’We can help you,’’ her father said.

Aleister did not say anything.

’’We know everything that has been transpiring in the Castle lately. We can help you in dealing with the witch.’’

’’And?’’ Aleister raised an eyebrow.

’’We want your fiancee in return,’’ Marcus Norwell said with a straight face.

Luciana tilted her head to look at her father and she mentally rolled her eyes. Why did they need to coax or trick that woman? If they wanted to trick her, they can easily force her. She did not know why her father and her brother did not want to consider such a simple thing.

Aleister stepped towards him looking somewhat curious about it, ’’Is this the reason why you came here? Is she the reason?’’ He asked.

Marcus lowered his head for a moment. Now that the Kingdom was in chaos, even if he knows about it, there was nothing he could do and this was the right time to take the reins of that woman. They were ordered to not harm her and forcing her did not seem like the right idea. She looked weak and delicate. If they accidentally broke an arm or two or if she inflicted self-harm then it would be difficult to explain themselves.

So this was the best way out of it. ’’If words spread that Prince Aleister sacrificed his lover to save his Kingdom from the witch then you’d be hailed as a great King amongst your subjects. Your future would keep flourishing,’’ Marcus said. And then, the abandoned lover would be heartbroken, at the lowest point of her life after being betrayed by her lover, ’’We will get Esmeray Reis, and you will be the King, a warrior who would be admired in centuries to come for defeating the witch to save his kingdom.’’

It would not be so hard to coax her into leaving with them. Just a few words will do.

Marcus Norwell had the utmost confidence in his calculations.

’’Hah~" Aleister scoffed as he stepped closer to the man, his body towering over his in an intimidating manner, ’’For her, I’d burn the entire world. Take her name once again and watch your mouth being ripped off,’’ his voice was threateningly low but everyone heard him, loud and clear.

Marcus stood rooted to his spot, a chill crept down his spine just when he opened his mouth to speak. He saw something in the man’s eyes... That bloodthirst, that aura that made him retreat a few steps.

Aleister did not spare the family another glance as he left in the direction of the prison.

’’You just had to mention her...’’ Rowan clicked his tongue before he followed Aleister while rubbing his arms to soothe the gooseflesh that popped on his skin earlier.

Lucian and Luciana snapped out of their daze and they rushed to their father.

’’Father, why didn’t you stop him?’ Lucian was confused, ’’We had decided that we will coerce him to do it if he doesn’t agree to our proposal then why did you let him go?"

’’Father...’’ Luciana patted his shoulder to wake him up from his reverie.

Marcus curled his fingers into a fist to stop them from trembling, ’’Do you think I didn’t want to?" he snarled at both of them.

Lucian was taken aback.

Luciana was quiet for some time, ’’Father, are the rumors true...? Is he really different?" Her father seemed to be intimidated earlier.

’’He is....’’ Marcus lowered his head, ’’He has special powers. I saw a flicker of gold in his eyes.’’

’’Gold...’’

’’Yes. I don’t know much about it but I have seen it somewhere...’’ Marcus raised his head, ’’...Somewhere in the history books of Defire Kingdom. I have seen its mention,’’ he has never felt so weak in front of anyone but it was as if the burst of his aura left him motionless.

Luciana lowered her head. Golden. Divine.

She knew what it was and she wanted to tell them about it but she can’t. If she told them then her father will find out how she discovered the secrets that barely anyone was aware of. Eventually... that person will come to know about it. Then, she will be gravely punished for it.

In the end, she clenched her fingers into a fist and decided to keep mum about it.

’’Then, what are we going to do about her?" Lucian asked his father.

Marcus tilted his chin, ’’Don’t forget what day is it today.’’

Lucian frowned.

’’You... How could you forget this day? The most important day for us, the day when we are vulnerable.’’

’’Full Moon,’’ Luciana said, ’’Full moon will appear today.’’
