Endless Debt-Chapter 976 - 67: Crimson Armor
Life is such a marvel, in an unguarded moment, intertwining two fates together, in this wretched moment, in this bloody, out-of-control zone.
The Shadow King straightened his back with effort, his deep gaze extending from beneath the mask, meeting Bologue’s eyes. Both fell into an eerie calm, as if they were bearing an unspeakable shock.
Palmer wasn’t sure who this mysterious figure at the end of the corridor was, but from Bologue’s reaction, it was definitely not a simple person. He prepared his Ether, ready to swing the Invisible Blade at any moment.
In the midst of heightened tension, Palmer noticed some stains appearing in his vision.
He blinked, and the stains not only failed to disappear but became clearer. It wasn’t an illusion, but some bizarre entity continuously materializing, truly appearing in the Material Realm.
Palmer’s pupils shrank, as if he had seen something terrifying.
Umbilical cord.
A black umbilical cord, covered in sticky tar, fully materialized, growing from Bologue’s abdomen and extending beneath the Shadow King’s dark robe.
Chilly breezes rose in the narrow corridor, stirring the umbilical cord. The scorching tar dripped into the pool of blood, emitting a sharp hiss, like strong acid corroding the floor.
Bologue opened his mouth, a repressed, grotesque sound coming from his throat, like muttering a vile curse.
"Shadow King..."
At the moment of seeing the other party, Bologue instinctively guessed their identity, and he was certain he hadn’t guessed wrong.
"Second Seat!"
Bologue then shouted angrily. Facing the mysterious Shadow King, Bologue showed no fear and made no plans to retreat; he decisively raised the Rancor Bite, furious Ether filling his chest.
Just when Palmer thought Bologue had lost his mind, an extremely rational voice echoed in his mind.
"Don’t worry about me, find a way to escape, Palmer!"
Through the connection of the Whistle, Bologue’s voice clearly entered Palmer’s mind.
"You... you’re nuts!"
Palmer responded. He guessed almost simultaneously what Bologue intended to do; it was madness, but calming down to think, it indeed was something Bologue would do.
"Honestly, I’m tired of the rules and red tape."
Bologue’s own Ether reached its peak, like a sudden flash of lightning, an enraged beast.
"Whether it’s infiltration actions or everything we’ve previously done, it was all to reduce the threat of the King’s Shield Guard. Now that the Shadow King has appeared, killing him can end the conflict all the same."
It sounded like an absurd quirk, but for those who knew Bologue well, it fit the style of an expert.
Rejecting all the twists and turns, aiming for a direct and decisive assassination.
Before the words were finished, Bologue had already shot forward like an arrow, the ground under his feet shattered instantly, and rolling dust enveloped Palmer.
"Such a simple and efficient choice... but what about you!" Palmer didn’t leave, "Do I have to think of a way to retrieve you?"
Palmer knew Bologue’s thought process. He planned to use the powers of the Negative Power User to attempt a forcible assassination of the Shadow King.
Before the blood battle with the Silent Ones, Palmer might have doubted Bologue’s abilities, but after witnessing the terrifying eroding power of the Secret Energy·Commanding Decree and that strange siphoning, Palmer had nothing but absolute trust in Bologue.
These two forces, one enough to tear apart the Rectangular Soul Critical with the Armor-Piercing Blade, the other like a soul-reaping hook, combined with Bologue’s Undying Body, allowed him to achieve a true meaning of fighting to nourish the fight, perpetuating a cycle of blood.
What could be more terrifying than a violence maniac approaching a Perpetual Motion Machine? 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"I’ve already prepared an escape plan."
Bologue’s voice was incredibly firm. Hearing such an answer, Palmer couldn’t help but find it somewhat darkly humorous.
What escape plan? Truly worthy of an expert, even running sounds so sophisticated.
"I’ll go find Church, the rest is up to you."
Palmer trusted Bologue, trusted his partner and the leader of this impromptu action group.
There was nothing to doubt.
Their exchange happened in a fleeting moment, the violent power vanishing in an instant. As Palmer disappeared into the rolling thick smoke, Bologue was already crossing pools of blood.
When Bologue swung the sword toward the Shadow King, not only the Blade and Ether obeyed his command, but all within his domain.
With fierce lamentations, the corridor collapsed completely, as if gravity had reversed, all the rocks hurled toward the Shadow King. Scarlet blood forged into Blood Spears, like the tips of rapidly growing bamboo, spreading in clusters at the Shadow King’s feet. The Deceitful Snake Scale Liquid returned, transforming into a roaring swarm of snakes, weaving through, trailing countless silver gleams.
Under Bologue’s command, all matters launched a desperate charge at the Shadow King, stretching and twisting into vortex arcs.
The Rancor Bite approached the Shadow King endlessly, but just as it was about to decapitate him, multiple Ether reactions rose around Bologue, and then the roaring Ether tore apart the charge wave under Bologue’s command.
First was the Silent One, the one closest to the Shadow King, wielding the Ethereal Blade to unleash a torrent of energy, severing Bologue’s offensive. Another shattered through the rock mass, the armor bright, was a Silver Knight.
Another Silver Knight.
Just as Bologue curiously wondered how much more stock the Third Seat had, more Silver Knights stormed the battlefield from behind the breached barrier, exceeding Bologue’s expectations. He didn’t expect the Third Seat to control multiple Alchemy Puppets simultaneously, so why had they done what they did before? To deliberately numb him?
