Chapter 931: Chapter 45: Eye of Omniscience (Part 2)

Bologue suddenly realized this, and for a moment, he didn’t know what to say. Then more thoughts surged up.

"So that’s why the Golden Soul cannot be bound..."

The Golden Soul exists simultaneously in the Material Realm and the Ethereal Realm. When a human’s "body" steps into death and the "mind" perishes, the soul, representing the "spirit," breaks free from the constraints of the Material Realm and returns to the Ethereal Realm, returning to the Secret Source.

All souls are summoned by the Secret Source, and in that Ethereal Realm, they eternally battle with the shadows. Only a Blood Contract with the Devil can truly bind these radiant souls and drag them from their holy light into the shadows.

Bologue suddenly breathed a sigh of relief. He understood the destination of all souls and knew the fate of his friends, gaining momentary peace in his heart.

Countless drifting phantoms are souls not yet fully integrated into the Daylight Core. Every soul Bologue touched, every memory he experienced, was a Mind Projection lingering on the soul.

Just as Aimou would initially dream of Alice.

Bologue couldn’t help but ask, "What exactly is the Secret Source? And you, Devils, what exactly are you?"

"You’ll know in the future."

The Astronaut responded evasively, "More than that, I want to show you this."

He raised his hand, pointing to a massive slope not far away, an enormous crater stretching to the edge of Bologue’s vision.

Just as Bologue was curious about what lay beyond the crater, the Astronaut suddenly said, "By the way, I can’t quite remember, have I mentioned it to you?"

"Mentioned what?"

The Astronaut turned his head, and Bologue’s face was reflected on the golden visor.

"My previous Chosen One was King Solomon."

Bologue stood frozen, recalling the Devil holding a scepter, and the figure gradually overlapped with the Astronaut.

A raspy laughter echoed from under the Astronaut’s helmet. He urged, "Hurry up, Bologue, we’re almost there."

Bologue’s body moved involuntarily forward, struggling to climb. After a long while, he and the Astronaut stood at the summit of the crater. Below was a gradually sinking pit, and huge rocks suspended above the crater concealed all the light, engulfing it in untouchable darkness.

The Astronaut asked, "Actually, you already know where this is, don’t you?"

Bologue didn’t respond, just looked up at the suspended mountains, thinking that few in this world could witness such a sight with their own eyes.

The Astronaut raised his hand, and with a sweeping motion, like erasing a drawing on a blackboard, the heavy mountains parted, allowing light to penetrate and illuminate the darkness within the crater.

Bologue saw the vibrant blue planet beyond the mountains, shining like a colorful jewel, with the sun’s afterglow flickering at its edge.

Cloudy seas, oceans, mountains, cities...

In an instant, Bologue felt absolute tranquility, with all distractions dissipating, his mind fully immersed without a ripple.

Bologue began to like this place. If possible, he could sit here all day, just quietly observing.

A hint of golden light intruded into Bologue’s field of vision, drawing his attention away from the blue planet. He lowered his gaze and saw the massive man-made structure at the center of the crater.

Anyone in this world would be unable to recognize this thing’s existence, but relying on memories from a "past life," Bologue recognized its essence at first glance.

It was an observatory standing in the center of the crater.

Surrounded by golden wings like solar panels, circuits and machinery intertwined, with numerous Alchemy Equipment installed within. Thick ether pulsed within the metal, constructed with Extraordinary Power and modern technology into this precise instrument.

Layers of lenses were raised high, not aimed at the stars but focused on the blue and pure planet, projecting a clear reflection onto the mirrors. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Bologue instinctively looked at the Astronaut beside him, waiting for him to reveal the mystery, to understand what exactly he was plotting here.

"Don’t rush, you’ll know soon."

The Astronaut said, heading down the slope. Each leap spanned several meters, with Bologue following closely behind.

The successive shock had numbed Bologue’s heart. He didn’t understand how the Astronaut built such a massive structure in this desolate place, nor could he fathom the significance of setting his domain here.

Bologue could only follow the Astronaut, waiting for him to reveal the dark secret.

Like the curse of knowledge, even knowing the other is a Devil, knowing the awaiting future leads to darkness, Bologue just couldn’t control himself. He couldn’t suppress the strong surging desire for knowledge, longing to discover the secrets buried in filth, even if it meant entangling himself in the mire.

Bologue felt both astonished and fearful, joyous and angry.

After a brief advance, the two reached the base of the observatory. Under the shadow of the building, there was a temporary camp. The Astronaut seemed to love movies a lot, like Belphegor. Even in such a temporary camp, a simple open-air cinema was set up, with two folding chairs placed in advance, as if the Astronaut knew he would arrive.
