Chapter 1265: Chapter 816: The Most Miserable Abyss Myth in History (Part 2)

The Shadow Demon looks quite decent and is resilient, making it a good addition to the Demon Maze’s luxury package. Recently, player levels have skyrocketed, and the demand for advancement is high. A dozen or so BOSSES are barely enough, and we’re short on people.

The rest of the matter is quite simple.

An Abyss Myth that hasn’t yet recovered its strength enters the Divine Country of a powerful Divine Power True God, completely easy prey.

Eve didn’t even have to take action herself. Just by the Elemental Elf King Fenrir’s power, with the aid of the Divine Country, the opponent could be sealed.

"Goddess."

Speak of the devil, and he arrives. When Eve arrived in front of the Shadow Demon, the Elemental Elf King Fenrir also appeared here.

He respectfully saluted Eve, his expression full of admiration.

"Did you find out everything?"

Eve asked.

"Interro...uh, I mean, yes, inquired thoroughly. His name is Nai’er, an Abyss Myth sealed at the end of the Titan Era by an ancient god named Surt."

Fenrir replied.

Surt...

Eve lightly raised her eyebrows.

An image of a minstrel wearing a felt hat appeared in her mind.

Fenrir didn’t know this name, but she had dealt with him before; he had once visited her in the Fengyue Free Territory.

Of course, having fully merged with the World Tree, Eve acquired many memories from her predecessor; she knew he had another name—the Fire God.

Or rather, the Ancient Fire God.

"So it’s him... In that case, this Shadow Demon must be one of the first demons to descend into the Segis World after the Abyss appeared in the Segis Universe..."

Eve muttered to herself.

Hmm... this guy is even more unfortunate than she imagined.

As one of the first Abyss Myths, he probably hadn’t left behind a terrifying legend in the Segis World before running into the Fire God Surt.

Otherwise, her predecessor’s memories should have mentioned him.

And now, just as he managed to escape, he’s fallen into Eve’s hands.

Truly unfortunate...

Thinking this, Eve once again looked at the struggling Shadow Demon.

Feeling her sharp gaze, the Shadow Demon shuddered slightly and quickly shrank back, giving off a vibe of being weak, pitiful, and helpless.

Making Eve feel like she is the real villain instead.

However, now knowing the Shadow Demon’s background, Eve lost interest.

She had originally hoped to pry some ancient secrets from his mouth.

A poor chap like this, sealed as soon as he emerged from the Abyss, likely knows less than the average adventurer.

"By the way, Goddess, after fighting him, I found this on him."

Fenrir’s words interrupted Eve’s thoughts. Eve slowly turned her head and saw the Fairy King presenting a black crystal with both hands.

It was a crystal resembling black crystal, like a fragment of some sort, emitting a faint glow.

Eve waved her hand lightly, and the crystal flew into her hand. By looking through the True God’s Eye, she was surprised to find she couldn’t identify the material.

This surprised Eve; after all, the True God’s Eye already has an appraisal function.

Eve’s curiosity was piqued; she attempted a mythical-level appraisal, but still couldn’t identify what this thing was...

Just like the golden divine blood from before.

Moreover, when Eve touched the crystal, she inexplicably felt a sense of familiarity and closeness...

"Interesting..."

Eve narrowed her eyes.

A mythical identification would borrow the Original Law of the cosmos, which should theoretically be able to glimpse anything observable.

That this remains unidentified signifies its level is on par with the Original Law of the Segis Universe.

If it relates to True God matters, it likely pertains to the level of great divine power.

Although she couldn’t identify the crystal’s origin, Eve became aware of some of its qualities.

One is its durability, very durable, perhaps in the rule sense indestructible.

Even for Eve, destroying it is vastly challenging.

Eve made a rough estimate and realized that if she wanted to completely destroy it, it might take wholeheartedly exerting effort for decades, possibly even centuries.

She is already of great divine power and possesses Dharma’s Sword, which theoretically should easily overturn a dimension with a mere gesture.

Yet, facing such a small black crystal requires such immense effort.

It’s truly astonishing...

In other words, the material of this crystal surpasses any True Divine Artifact known to Eve.

And besides being firm, it has another quality.

No Magic Conducting Ability.

In Eve’s perception, this crystal lacks even the slightest bit of Magic Conducting Ability, and elemental power cannot penetrate it at all.

It’s worth noting that in the Segis World, any material without magic conducting ability is merely difficult to observe and utilize because its magic conducting ability is too weak.

Magic Power is an active element, and the basic composition of the Segis Universe is the element.

Here, truly non-magic-conducting materials do not exist.

Theoretically speaking, a True God might be able to create a material with almost no magic conducting ability, but it’s only infinitely close to non-magic-conducting, unlike this crystal in front of us, which is completely devoid of such ability.

In other words, this crystal likely does not belong to the Segis Universe.

"Outer realm?"

Eve pondered.

Beyond the Segis Universe lies a broader, mysterious world.

The World Tree, it is said, comes from outside.

This makes Eve conjecture that perhaps this crystal comes from the same place as the World Tree.

Eve doesn’t know much about the outer realm, but from various clues, she suspects that beyond the Segis Universe lies the universe where Blue Star is located.

This suspicion is not without basis.

After acquiring more memories of the World Tree, Eve has seen some fragments from the Ancient God Era, the Titan Era, and the Age of Giant Dragons in memories.

She discovered that some civilizations’ murals depict symbols resembling celestial bodies and the universe.

Coupled with certain cultures in Blue Star’s history that are similar to those in the Segis World, it is hard not to draw a connection.

With this thought, Eve looked at the Shadow Demon Nair before her.

"Tell me, what is this crystal and where does it come from?"

She inquired.

However, the Shadow Demon did not respond, merely continued to roar at her.

Eve slightly furrowed her brows.

"Your Majesty the Goddess, I have already tried; no matter what, it will not speak of the origin of this crystal. Of course... it might also be that it doesn’t know either."

Fairy King Fenrir said.

Eve nodded, indicating understanding.

Looking at the fearful yet tight-lipped Shadow Demon, she found herself at a bit of an impasse.

Unlike other Abyss Myths, Shadow Demons are essentially spiritual bodies; forcibly reading their memories would only lead to their self-destruction, without yielding any information.

In other words, if one wishes to get information from a Shadow Demon’s mouth, it can only rely on them speaking willingly.

Looking at the anxious but lively Shadow Demon, Eve felt that it still didn’t quite understand the dangers of society...

Perhaps it should experience the joys of the Demon Maze.

With this in mind, Eve gave up on further communication and directly summoned the Gate of Reversal, opening the passage to the Demon Maze.

Then she threw the struggling Shadow Demon in, placing it in the vacant Evil God Palace.

Maze BOSS+1

After doing this, Eve pondered again, and with a flash of her form, she arrived at Azazel’s palace.

Azazel seemed to have just finished a battle, collapsing on his throne, panting.

Compared to two months ago, he seemed to have lost weight, his spirit withered considerably, as if drained dry.

It made sense; with the increase in traffic through the Demon Maze, he, as a Demon God, faced more pressure to provide Power of the Abyss, and on top of that, he had to fight personally day after day, naturally leading to exhaustion.

Ultimately, he possesses moderate divine power and isn’t as enduring as Samael.

Seeing Eve appear before him, the Seventh Demon God quickly leaped from his seat:

"Lord God—! I was wrong!"

With a thud, he knelt to the ground.

Eve:...

Can’t you have a bit of a Demon God’s dignity?

She glanced at Azazel and took out the black crystal in her hand:

"Azazel, do you recognize this?"

Seeing the black chip, Azazel was slightly stunned:

"Original Barrier?"
