Chapter 1082: Chapter 731: Our Homeland (Part 3)

"Sounds really enjoyable, call me next time you play cards, I haven’t played Gwent in ages."

"No, you’re too good at it, playing with you is no fun."

"That’s precisely why you need me to help you improve! I have lots of strategies!"

"Hey, winning doesn’t matter, for me, it’s just a distraction."

The two old friends chatted while drinking beverages and eating snacks.

It looked like you couldn’t tell one was a player and the other was an NPC.

They truly seemed like old friends.

"Of course..."

Gando changed the topic, looking solemnly at the magic wand hanging on the wall:

"If the Goddess needs me, I’m always ready to pick up weapons again, to defend our homeland."

Listening to Gando’s words, Cyber was slightly taken aback, his teacup paused mid-air.

He glanced at Gando’s steadfast eyes, feelings stirring inside:

"You’ve heard too?"

Gando nodded, draining the Elf Flower Tea in his hand, and said:

"Yes, don’t forget this is a tavern, the place most informed about news."

"If even Chosen Ones are aware, of course, this old bag of bones would know it’s no secret the Goddess has issued a Divine Miracle warning to all forces..."

Says, he looked at Cyber:

"When does the war begin?"

Cyber shook his head:

"We don’t know the specifics, only waiting for notifications, but... the main battlefield should be in the abyss."

"These months have been quiet in Segis World, even battlefield quests have lessened, I suppose the abyss side is waiting for us to start first."

Gando nodded slightly:

"That sounds plausible."

"But don’t worry too much, we Chosen Ones number a million, even excluding those expeditioning into the abyss, the rest are enough to defend Elf Forest."

Cyber laughed.

Gando sighed lightly:

"But Segis World is more than just Elf Forest..."

"Cyber, according to Lord Aurora, when our Frost Tribe first entered the Silent Annihilation Wilderness, what was left of the realm still hadn’t sunken into the abyss." 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"We cautiously protected that region, resisting the Black Tide, until the Abyss Evil God appeared, never letting demons set foot in our domain."

"Yet even so, not many years later, aside from the higher grounds of Sorrow Cliff, the rest of the realm gradually sunk..."

"Cyber, the realm is a whole, even if Elf Forest is well defended, if most of Segis Continent is swallowed by the Abyss, it would spell doom for the entire realm..."

"By then, the realm will inevitably slide into the abyss..."

Upon hearing Gando’s words, Cyber’s expression became solemn.

Moments later, he smiled:

"Don’t worry, Gando, should that day ever come, we Chosen Ones will surely unite to protect the world."

"After all... it’s not just your home, but ours as well."

"And don’t forget, we have the mighty Goddess!"

Gando laughed heartily, raising his refilled cup:

"Well spoken! This is our shared homeland, and we’ll surely work together to protect it!"

"To our homeland, and to the great Goddess, cheers!"

Cyber also smiled mildly.

He, Aister, and Hubert raised their cups together:

"To our homeland, and to the great Goddess, cheers!"

Then, they all drank in one go.

Just then, a commotion sounded from afar.

Cyber looked over and saw players gathered around a crystal screen, whistling and cheering.

"Who won?"

He raised an eyebrow.

"Seems like it’s the first legion’s team, today is a team match, five members in a group."

Gando glanced at the screen.

"Team match? Team match rewards are quite high!"

Cyber sighed lightly.

"Of course, I heard even Lord Ling has been invited as an award presenter."

Gando said.

"Lord Ling?! Big Sister?!"

Cyber looked surprised.

Gando nodded.

Afterward, he adjusted his sleeve:

"Hey, truth be told, seeing you all battle in the arena, even this old fellow feels the itch."

"No, you’re Golden Rank, and we can resurrect infinitely, while your resurrection counts as a Divine Miracle."

Cyber shook his head.

"I’m just joking, but if you know a familiar Priest or Mage Chosen One, with decent character, introduce them to me, this skillset of mine should find a student."

Gando squinted his eyes, smiling.

"A student? There’s one right here."

Cyber pushed Aister out.

"Hehehe..."

The Elf Girl smiled sweetly at Gando, tilted her head and stuck out her tongue.

Gando rolled his eyes at her, shaking his head:

"This kid already has Lord Aurora as a teacher, I wouldn’t dare teach her."

Just then, another vague cheer came from the direction of the crystal screen.

Not from players gathered around it, but from within the screen.

The two instinctively glanced at the screen, seeing the victorious team ascended the podium.

Spectators filled the arena seats, including Elves, players, and NPCs.

"The award ceremony has begun."

Gando raised an eyebrow.

Cyber focused his gaze, seeing a valiant silhouette entering the arena amidst players’ cheers.

In a black skirt-armor, with a serene and beautiful face.

She was the NPC, whose popularity temporarily dropped to third in the server following Demigod Aurora’s return.

Divine Favored Zero.
