Master Feng looked at him deeply. His gaze seemed to pierce through Kael's disguise. Through his calm exterior, reading something underneath.

"Kael," the elder said. Using his name directly. "I'll give you a piece of advice. Do not leave the boundaries of the capital anytime soon."

The words hung in the air, heavy with meaning. This wasn't just friendly advice. This was a warning from someone who knew things. Who had information on something about to happen.

Pa!

The window closed immediately after those words were spoken. It meant that the conversation was over. The Cloud Horses moved and he carriage flew up into the sky.

Their speed was incredible. Comparable to peak-level Primal Master Realm experts flying at full power. Within seconds, it vanished into the clouds above.

The entire exchange had lasted maybe two or three breaths. It was quick, efficient, and professional.

Whether Kael listened to the advice or not, the news from the Azure Sky Pavilion had been delivered. Their responsibility was fulfilled.

Kael stood still for a moment, processing what he'd just learned.

He somewhat understood the intentions of the Azure Sky Pavilion now. The faction and several groups in Mei Kingdom had strained relationships. Including the Clearstar Estate, that was probably their top enemy in the Mei Kingdom. That much was obvious from context.

If the talented Kael were to be killed by Clearstar forces, the Azure Sky Pavilion would lose a potential future asset. Someone who might become powerful enough to matter later.

If Kael were captured and roped into the Clearstar Estate through threats or bribes, he might become an enemy of the Azure Sky Pavilion or its allies. That was worse than him just dying.

So they warned him and gave him information, for him to see the clear picture of power struggles and balance in the Mei Kingdom. They tilted the scales slightly in his favor without directly intervening.

He acknowledged that they were smart and efficient. This whole episodes in the bigger series was at best, low risk for them.

The interruption soon passed from Kael's mind.

His decision didn't change one bit. He would leave the capital to train for the Silver Rankings after the auction ended. The warning was noted and appreciated even. But it wouldn't stop his plans.

He just needed to be more careful and more prepared. And maybe leave the capital from a different gate or exit. Or take unexpected routes whilst using his Eclipse Step to avoid obvious pursuit from them.

Well, those were problems for later. Right now, he had an auction to attend.

---

An hour passed as Kael walked. The streets grew even more impressive.

The buildings here were ancient, truly ancient. Some looked like they'd stood for thousands of years. Their architecture was different from the outer districts as they looked more elaborate and powerful.

The inner eastern part of the capital finally came into view. The enormous ancient city section had an archaic aura surrounding it. History pressed down from every surface. This place had seen royal families rise and fall.

At the entrance to this district, Kael saw something that made him pause.

Portraits of himself.

They were posted on walls, handed to guards, and displayed prominently at checkpoints.

The image showed a youth with black hair and sharp features. But the most distinctive element was the eyes. They were coloured silver and unmistakably bright. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

The silver eyes of the youth in every portrait were extremely eye-catching. Impossible to miss. Anyone who'd seen those eyes would remember them.

Kael's current appearance still had silver eyes. That was a problem.

He stopped walking and stepped into a small alley between buildings while making sure no one was watching closely.

The bloodline power in his body circulated as he focused his will and directed energy toward specific features. Faint power entered his eyes and hair, responding to his intent.

Kael's control of his bloodline had become much better recently. With just a thought, changes began.

The midnight-black color of his hair changed and became lighter. It turned blue. A deep ocean blue that looked natural and unremarkable.

The silver color of his eyes changed next as they darkened and became black. Completely black with no unusual color at all.

Through some simple adjustments using his bloodline abilities, Kael had transformed. He was now a cold-looking blue-haired, black-eyed youth. Nothing like the portraits at all.

He stepped back onto the main street and walked toward the entrance to the inner eastern district with confidence.

Guards stood at the checkpoint. Their uniforms bore the Clearstar Estate badge. A star symbol on gray fabric. They were clearly stationed here specifically to watch for him.

The guards' eyes swept over everyone entering. Checking faces against the portraits they held and comparing features.

When Kael approached, one guard's gaze locked onto him immediately. He studied his face. Then looked down at the portrait in his hand.

The youth in the picture had black hair and silver eyes.

Kael had blue hair and black eyes.

The guard shook his head and dismissed him entirely without a match.

The second guard barely glanced at Kael before waving him through, thinking that he was Just another random cultivator entering the district. Nothing special.

After Kael's eyes had turned black, his entire aura had changed too. The bloodline alteration affected more than just physical appearance. It shifted the energy signature he gave off and made him feel different to spiritual senses.

Like this, Kael openly entered the inner capital. Walking past guards specifically hunting for him. He was — in every literal sense, right under their noses.

His lips curved slightly, not quite a smile. But from pure satisfaction.

The Clearstar Estate had resources, connections, and power.

But they didn't have enough information on him. They didn't know about his bloodline abilities or realize he could change his appearance at will.

That ignorance would cost them.

Kael walked deeper into the district. The Azure Sky Pavilion was close now, just a few more streets. The auction would begin soon.

And tonight, he would acquire the tools he needed to become even stronger.

The hunt could wait. Let the Clearstar Estate waste resources searching for a black-haired, silver-eyed youth.

That person didn't exist anymore.
