Alice Conley watched as Indigo Quigley got into Dorian Howards’s car, and as the car drove away, a pain hit her chest. It was supposed to be a happy day for her, after all, the biggest issue between them was no longer there. She thought she could be happily together with him, she thought that even if he was angry, he would still forgive her for the hurt she had caused him.

However, she was too naive. She had hurt him too much, too harshly, leaving no room for herself, so much that he treated her this way.

She had nothing to blame him for; it was all her own doing.

Lowering her head, her tear-filled eyes looked at her still-flat stomach, murmuring softly, "Baby, don’t be afraid, Mommy will tell Daddy about your existence, Mommy will definitely clear up all the misunderstandings with him. Daddy is just too angry with Mommy now, it’s going to be okay, it’s definitely going to be okay."

She kept using these words to comfort herself, and also to give herself courage.

Meanwhile, in the car, Indigo Quigley was still feeling grateful for getting so close to Dorian Howards so smoothly. She was thinking about which topic to start with to comfort him when suddenly, the car abruptly stopped by the roadside.

Dorian Howards’s voice came out coldly, "Get out of the car!"

"No, no need for a gastroscopy, my stomach is fine. Mom, Dad, I’m going to my room now!" With that, she hurried to her room, closed the door, and finally exhaled wearily.
