Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 749 - 779: Encounter
Dorian finally turned his head away, lifted his footsteps, and walked toward the restaurant entrance, no longer looking in Alice Conley’s direction.
That woman, he shouldn’t think about her anymore!
Having dinner with Daxton, Alice Conley was quite happy.
Daxton’s personality was gentle and polite, yet with a bit of humor. Chatting with someone like him didn’t feel dull. And as they talked, Alice found that they actually shared quite a few experiences. For instance, they both used to live in an old house and later moved to an apartment complex. They played in the alleys with friends during childhood and rushed to catch buses for school, and so on...
They were both from J City, and their various experiences were quite similar, which gave them a lot of common ground. Sometimes, when discussing a topic, they both felt a strong sense of connection.
This dinner left Alice Conley genuinely happy, easing some of her suppressed emotions.
Just after the meal, when dessert was served, Alice suddenly turned pale. She covered her mouth with one hand and made an apologetic gesture to Daxton with the other, then rushed to the restroom.
The feeling of nausea surged back, making her unable to stop wanting to vomit.
She ran all the way to the restroom and leaned over the sink, vomiting for quite a while, feeling that she had thrown up everything she had just eaten.
After a long moment, she finally stopped. Alice rinsed her mouth and wiped her lips with a tissue. What was wrong with her today? She had vomited twice. Could it be some aftereffect from being trapped in the elevator last time? Or was it because her diet had been off in recent days, causing an upset stomach and making her vomit?
Questions swirled in her mind as she shook her head, planning to go to the hospital for a check-up over the weekend to be safe.
As she walked out of the restroom, Alice suddenly stopped in her tracks because she saw a familiar figure standing not far away, staring straight at her.
Sometimes, when you wish for fewer coincidences in life, there are just so many coincidences, leaving you feeling utterly helpless.
Looking at Dorian Howards, Alice Conley felt her mouth fill with bitterness, as if she hadn’t properly rinsed after her mouthwash.
She lowered her eyes and quickened her pace, trying to leave.
But just as she passed by him, he suddenly reached out and blocked her path.
"Dumped me, and now you’re with someone else?" Dorian said coldly.
Alice paused, not answering, intending to bypass his hand.
But he grabbed her arm and pulled her closer to him, "What, do you like that type of man? He seems quite ordinary. What do you like about him? His looks? His appearance? Or is it that he’s the kind of person you call a small-town man, matching your social status?"
Alice felt pain in her arm from his grip and wanted to shake off his hand, but the more she struggled, the tighter he held, as if deliberately opposing her.
"Yes, I like that kind of man. Is that not okay?" she said, trying hard to keep her eyes wide open, glaring at him, "I told you long ago, I’m looking for a man who matches my social status, with an ordinary job, living a simple life. Dorian Howards, whatever kind of man I like, is none of your business."
