Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 747 - 777 Blind Date
"If you don’t want to, it’s okay. I’ll just tell them you’re busy with work lately. Anyway, you’re still young, and there will be plenty more." said Alice’s mom hurriedly.
"Mom, I’ll go meet him, okay?" Alice Conley replied, simply to stop her mother from worrying too much. But this lifetime... can she really get married again?
With a body that can’t bear children, maybe there will be a man who also doesn’t want kids, someone she can be with. But her heart... after all this, can it love another man again?
If she can’t love again, then perhaps it’s better to be alone for a lifetime, to avoid hurting others and herself. But how should she tell her parents this? After all, with their love for her, knowing such a truth would break their hearts.
But if she doesn’t say anything, time will drag on year after year, and sooner or later her parents will find out.
Alice was conflicted. During work, Mabel Quinn noticed her friend’s poor complexion and couldn’t help but ask, "Are you not feeling well?"
"I’m okay, it’s nothing..." Before Alice could finish her sentence, a wave of nausea hit her, making her cover her mouth suddenly and rush to the restroom.
In the restroom, she vomited for a good while before catching her breath and rinsing her mouth with clean water.
Looking up, Alice gazed into the restroom mirror, thinking her complexion was really awful right now.
"Alright, pull yourself together." She slapped her cheeks with some force while speaking to herself.
When she returned to her desk, Mabel asked with concern, "What happened to you just now?"
"I think my stomach’s a bit upset, felt queasy, but I felt much better after throwing up." Alice said.
"Take care of your health." Mabel said.
"Alright, I know. Health is the foundation of productivity, after all. I’m planning to work on the new project with you." Alice replied.
In the afternoon, Alice received a message from an unknown number. It was from the blind date her mom mentioned in the morning, a guy working at the vehicle management office. It was a simple self-introduction, followed by asking when she would be free to meet up.
After thinking for a bit, Alice replied directly, "We can meet today." The sooner, the better.
She agreed to the blind date merely to reassure her parents so they wouldn’t worry she’s still caught up in her past relationship with Dorian Howards, still wallowing in sorrow.
She hoped her parents would think she had moved on from that heartbreak.
However, she did feel a bit sorry for today’s blind date partner, so Alice was determined to host dinner tonight.
In the evening, Alice arrived at the agreed-upon restaurant, a very nice spot in the city center. Her blind date was seated by the window, dressed in a suit. Appearance-wise, Alice thought he could score over 80 points, the tall and slender type. If she didn’t still have Dorian in her heart, she might have been pleased about having such a blind date partner.
"Hello, you’re Alice Conley, right? I’m Daxton." The other party stood up and said.
"Hello." Alice replied quickly.
They sat down, and Daxton asked, "What would you like to eat?" as he courteously handed her the menu.
