Chapter 736: Chapter 766: Have You Ever Felt a Bit of Regret?

Alice Conley looked at the time. It was almost 5 PM after all the commotion. She quickly got off the hospital bed and said to Dorian Howards, "Thank you for bringing me to the Hospital. How much is the medical bill? I’ll pay you." She spoke while noticing her bag on the nightstand beside the bed.

"No need. This happened because of the Howards Group’s elevator, so the medical expenses will be covered by them," he replied.

Since he said so, she didn’t insist further. She picked up her bag, ready to leave.

"You’re leaving?" he asked, furrowing his brows.

"Yeah, I’m fine now. Why stay at the Hospital any longer? Besides, if I go home later, my parents will worry," she said, considering the trip back home would require changing buses twice.

He pressed his lips together and suddenly pushed her back onto the hospital bed, "There’s no rush. Let the doctor check you again and make sure you can be discharged, then leave. I promise you’ll get home on time."

Alice was speechless, but she could see that Dorian meant well, so she didn’t refuse.

Dorian left to call the doctor. After a while, the doctor returned with Dorian and, after checking on Alice, said, "There’s nothing wrong, but if you’re worried, come back for a detailed check-up when you have time."

"Okay," Alice replied. After the doctor left, she got off the bed again, ready to leave.

"I’ll take you home," he said.

"No need, I can take the bus," she replied quickly, trying to walk past him towards the emergency room exit.

After walking only two or three steps, he caught up from behind, grabbed her hand, and pulled her forward.

Alice was startled, "You..."

"Since I said I’d take you home, I’ll definitely take you home," he said coldly.

She was almost passively brought to his car, then he got her into the car. Alice rolled her eyes. Fine, if he’s taking her home, they might as well both endure the awkwardness.

He started the car and drove towards her apartment complex.

The atmosphere in the car was silent. She kept her head down, remembering her fear and anxiety in the elevator, fearing that she might really die. She had imagined all kinds of bad outcomes, and in the end, what appeared in her mind was his face.

So, in the moment of crisis and life-or-death, the person she thought of was still him, huh.

"When are you planning to do the detailed check-up?" Dorian suddenly asked, breaking the silence in the car.

"I’ll do it when I have time. There’s really no need for a check-up. I just overthought things and got scared; that’s why I fainted. It’s not a big issue," Alice replied.

He pressed his thin lips together and said nothing more. The car drove all the way to the entrance of her apartment complex. Alice was just about to get out of the car when she heard a clicking sound of the car door locking.

She tried to open the car door again, but it indeed wouldn’t open.

"Dorian Howards, what are you doing?" Alice turned her head to look at the person sitting in the driver’s seat.

He turned his head, fixing his gaze intensely on her, "Have you had the slightest bit of regret these days?" he asked.

Her body tensed up. She turned her head away to avoid his gaze, "I don’t know what you’re talking about." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"Fine, I’ll make it clearer. Since the last time we got a room in the Tavern, have you regretted saying those things to me? Have you regretted the decision to leave me?"
