Chapter 703: Chapter 732

Mabel Quinn was suddenly speechless. If Kyle Kinston really spent the night at the place she rented and people found out, the entire J City would probably be in uproar.

"No way, where I live... you can’t go there." Mabel said.

"So is my sister thinking of going home with this brother?" Kyle frowned, his gaze holding a certain wariness as he looked at Dorian Howards beside him, as if deeply afraid that this "brother" might take his sister away. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Dorian nearly spat out old blood in frustration. He was wholeheartedly for his friend, yet his friend was still suspicious like this. But thinking again, his friend was now basically the equivalent of a 5/6-year-old child, what was there to argue about?

"No." Dorian said, "Brother absolutely doesn’t intend to go home with sister; sister won’t go today; she’ll stay here with you."

After saying this, Dorian leaned to Mabel’s ear and whispered in a voice only the two of them could hear, "If you really want to leave today, Kyle will insist on following you. Do you really wish for Kyle to spend the night with you in your rented room?"

Mabel was at a loss for words and figured it would be just one night spent here.

"Sister, you’ll stay here tonight?" Kyle asked cautiously.

Mabel nodded with some difficulty.

And at the moment she nodded, he beamed with a smile, and he suddenly lifted her up, spinning her around.

Mabel was startled. She heard his voice, still a little hoarse from a cold yet full of joy, by her ear, "Great, I’m so happy! Sister can stay with me tonight."

She stared blankly at the smile on his face, feeling dazzled. Was it because of the spinning, or was it something else...

After a while, Kyle finally put Mabel down. Mabel said, "You’re still running a fever; don’t spin around like that again."

"Okay." He obediently agreed, turning back into a well-behaved child.

Dorian, seeing this, finally breathed a sigh of relief. Because of Kyle, Dorian gave the servants the day off, so the three of them had a dinner prepared by Mabel.

After eating the meal Mabel cooked, Dorian couldn’t help but praise, "You’re quite good at this; much better than Alice..."

Mid-sentence, he stopped abruptly. Dorian’s face momentarily flashed with awkwardness, then he acted as if nothing had happened, "These dishes are pretty good. If you ever stop being a screenwriter, you could change careers to be a chef."

Mabel naturally knew he didn’t want to talk about Alice Conley. She couldn’t meddle in his emotional matters, nor could she help. After all, her own feelings were still a tangled mess.

But there was one thing she wanted to say, "Dorian, no matter what happened between you and Alice, I hope you don’t hate her. What she thinks about for you is far more than you imagine."

Dorian’s initially smiling lips became a bit stiff, "Mabel, if you still call me Dorian, then please don’t mention Alice Conley in front of me again. I’ve already completely given up on her. From now on, our lives and hers will be two parallel lines, never to intersect."

For a moment, Mabel couldn’t help but feel an indescribable heartache. After all, she’d seen how good Dorian had been to Alice before.
