Chapter 700: Chapter 729: Will Not Love Again

Mabel Quinn didn’t know how long she had been crying. By the time she finally stopped, the soup she had prepared had already gone cold, so she had to reheat it. Luckily, the porridge was still warm, thanks to being kept insulated.

After bringing the porridge and soup to the dining table, Mabel noticed that Kyle Kinston was looking at her with evident concern. So she pulled herself together and smiled, saying, "I’m okay now, let’s have lunch."

"Why were you crying?" he asked.

"Because I thought of someone who once proposed to me, but we can never get married," she replied.

"Why is it impossible?"

"Because there’s no love anymore." They broke up, fell out of love, and over time, even the past can fade away. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"It’s okay, I can propose to you too, I can marry you," he said, "I won’t let you cry again."

She was taken aback, overwhelmed by an indescribable complexity. "Let’s talk about it after you get better," she murmured, hoping that by the time his fever subsided, everything would reset to zero.

After finishing lunch, Mabel tidied up a bit and then gave Kyle his medication.

After taking the medicine, Kyle started feeling sleepy. Mabel asked him to lie down on the bed for a nap, but he insisted on holding onto Mabel, wanting her to sleep with him.

She wanted to sternly refuse, but faced with his pleading eyes and pitiful expression, she couldn’t bring herself to say anything.

Fine, he was only in the mentality of a 6-year-old Kyle Kinston, not the adult Kyle. Right now, he was just a child. She could only comfort herself with such thoughts, and lay down with him on the bed.

Under the influence of the medication, Kyle fell asleep quickly, but Mabel did not sleep. She looked at the familiar sleeping face in front of her, her heart heavy.

Yesterday, he had stormed into her room, and then left like that. Who would have thought today they would be interacting like this?

The relationship between her and him was completely over, and she didn’t want to keep entangling in this mess. Only by forgetting him as soon as possible, completely turning the page on their past relationship, could she truly start afresh.

"Kyle, I won’t love you anymore, I won’t..." Her fingers lightly traced his brows and eyes as she murmured, her eyes slightly moist...

Dorian Howards looked at Francine Howards, who had barged into his office, feeling a bit of a headache, "What are you doing here?"

"Did something happen to Kyle? He didn’t come to the Corporation today, yet you helped him take leave," Francine said bluntly.

Dorian raised an eyebrow, surprised at how well-informed his cousin was. "I had a few drinks with Kyle yesterday, and he couldn’t get up this morning, so I helped him take a leave. Is there a problem?"

"Is it that simple?" Francine questioned suspiciously.

Dorian spread his hands, "What more do you think there is?"

"Where is Kyle now? I want to see him," she said.

There was no way Dorian would actually let Francine go see Kyle, knowing that Mabel was still involved.

"Don’t trouble yourself over this, I’ve told you before, it’s impossible for you and Kyle to be together."
