Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 676 - 703 Negotiation
Alice Conley never expected that Dorian Howards’s mother would appear before her so unexpectedly. This noblewoman still looked as beautiful as she did three years ago, yet also just as unapproachable.
"Miss Conley, long time no see," the woman smiled as she spoke, a smile that faintly recalled the shadow of Dorian.
However, the noblewoman’s smile was icy, unlike Dorian’s, which made people feel warm.
Alice pressed her lips together and took a long time before she said, "Auntie, did you come to talk to me about Dorian?"
Dorian’s mother, Gemma, replied, "Between us, apart from matters about Dorian, there isn’t much else to discuss, right?"
Alice thought bitterly, indeed that was the case.
"Let’s go, let’s find a place to talk properly, I have no interest in discussing Dorian’s matters on the street," Gemma said, already heading toward a luxury car parked nearby.
Alice took a deep breath and followed.
The place chosen for the conversation was a private room in an elegantly styled teahouse club, where the aroma of tea blended with the ancient architecture, making it feel like a place of taste.
However, such taste is mostly something only wealthy people can afford.
Gemma sipped her tea while scrutinizing the woman in front of her, noticing that after three years, not much had changed. She still appeared so ordinary and unremarkable.
Back then, she thought 5 million could solve everything, and initially, it did go as she wished; her son and this woman broke up. But what she hadn’t expected was that after three years, her son would get back together with this woman.
If it weren’t for this year’s New Year when her son caught a flight to J City early on the first morning, she might not have even noticed.
"This time, how much money do you plan to ask for to leave Dorian?" Gemma went straight to the point.
Alice’s eyes widened suddenly, the color draining from her face. To the other, she might just be a woman who could be dismissed with money; it was like this three years ago, and still is now.
"I... I’m not planning to ask for money," Alice said awkwardly.
"Why, do you plan to be with Dorian? But you should have known back then, you no longer have the right to be with Dorian. Unless you want your misfortune to drag Dorian into misfortune with you?" The cold voice was filled with disgust.
Alice’s body trembled violently, her face now even paler, devoid of any color, even her lips seemed covered with a gray hue.
How much strength does it take to suppress the pain igniting in her heart, the kind that threatens to engulf her whole body?
Seeing her unable to answer, Gemma spoke with even more distaste, "Didn’t your parents teach you that when elders speak, the younger should answer properly?"
Alice took a deep breath, stood up, and fixed her gaze firmly on the other woman, "My parents taught me many things, but they didn’t teach me to respond politely to unfriendly elders. Auntie, forgive me for saying, if you weren’t Dorian’s mother, I wouldn’t have needed to sit here, being scrutinized by your disdainful eyes, nor subjected to your contemptuous words."
