In a beautiful and modern office in one of the tallest buildings on the city, a meeting was being held. Sitting at the table, Uriel, Nika, Medusa and Sam discussed matters just like in the old times.

It was early in the morning and the sunlight breached through the spotless windows, there were fancy snacks on the luxurious table, all sorts of hot and cold beverages and people at the sides waiting to serve them.

"Did they finish the hospital on the north district?" Sam asked.

"Yes, a couple days ago thanks to the help of the Cryptid hunting association. I have to say it, I can't believe our numbers, welfare is quite the business." Medusa replied.

"It's not just welfare, it's people's approval what earns us money. We need to continue the charity work, every coin spent in the slums is an investment." Uriel added.

"I have nothing to report about security, I just wonder, why did we let the originals raid our hideout and kill so many of our kin? Why don't we just kill them? Don't get me wrong, I love how I look, but I really dislike my personality." Nika's copycat broke character, something that earned her a glare from the Lightbringer.

"It's because we needed to get samples from their skin to gain access to their knowledge. Uriel knows about dungeons, Medusa is great with numbers and has access to a lot of secrets from the Mapple corp and Nika..." Sam wondered why did he even need Nika's copycat, not knowing why he felt so attracted to her was because of Water warlocks' influence.

"But they're so incompetent! If they weren't their company would be thriving. We could kill them now and no one will even know we're here." Medusa's copycat added.

"You guys clearly don't get humans," Sam let out a sigh and continued. "It's getting increasingly more difficult to me too. What can we do if things don't go our way? We need their expertise to succeed and we might need the real ones to figure out the next steps after creating a dungeon. Besides, I know them well. They might be capable of figuring out our plans, but they won't intervene.

It's too risky and they know there's nothing in it for them other than saving strangers that mistreated them."

"Yeah, all the people on this girl's life are assholes..." Medusa sighed.

"I just wish we had Luna's copy too." Sam let out.

"I'm deeply sorry, my lord, but for some reason she's immune to our ability."

"Isn't it obvious? It's because she's a hybrid. From my understanding, skinwalkers and doppelgangers can only mimic humans, we... I mean, they can't imitate the wolfish side of Luna." Uriel's copycat explained.

"Anyway, I doubt it's going to make a difference. We don't need that midget..."

"Watch your mouth!" Nika's copycat growled. Even if she wasn't the real Nika, it still bothered her that people insulted Luna.

"I think we're done here," Sam sighed rubbing his temple annoyed and then continued. "Oh! Don't forget to call that guy over, he's the only one who can help us deal with the Celes company."

"Yes, my lord." Nika nodded.

The Fallen corporation was founded by Sam with the sole purpose of creating a dungeon on their city and most of its employees were either cryptids or hybrids. The reason for that was simple, after securing Water Warlock's blessing, Sam became way stronger than Uriel ever was.

Even if his stats were lower before, his control over flux energy was higher and he was able to maintain the blessing active for as long as he wished making him impervious to all sorts of damage.

Even if the cryptids wanted to rebel, they had no chance against him. But that wasn't the only reason why they obeyed him, as long as Sam provided them with enough 'food' they had no reason to go against him and even the horror level cryptids were happy with their arrangement.

Everything was going according to Sam's plan, but there was an annoying thought at the back of his head. Something that told him none of what he was doing was actually his own decision. He felt like a marionette attached to unseen strings coming from within his heart and not even his thoughts were his' anymore.

Killing thousands of people, murdering in cold blood, destroying a city, betraying his friends. All of that bothered him, but not enough to go back on his plan. The megacity of Texas was his dining table and he was hungry for power and riches, but more importantly, he wanted revenge for what was taken from him, the chance to have a beautiful future with his cryptid wife.

In his current state, Sam was unable to see the error of his ways, he did't measure the consequences of his actions. He didn't realize how, even if everything worked just the way he wanted, as long as Water Warlock remained inside him everything would feel empty.

"Did you call for me?" Mark showed up to the meeting room, his expression filled with fear but he carried a servile attitude. Even bullies knew how to behave when they didn't have the upper hand.

"Yes, the preparations have been made. You may proceed with the plan." Sam said and then dismissed him with a wave of his hand.

"It will be my pleasure." He said as he retreated without showing his back to the Lightbringer.

Sam remained on the meeting room, intertwining his fingers as he leaned forward knownig he had the upper hand in every aspect. Allowing Uriel to find Medusa was only a scheme to grab a skin sample from all of his allies in order to gain access to their memories and most inner thoughts.

Thanks to that, he found out all about the dungeon on Easter island, even after he left him stranded on the rock formation. He learned what happened with Manu and the reason why he came back to the megacity.

There was, however, an important piece of information missing. Something happened to Uriel, something not even his copycat was able to 'remember' no matter how hard he tried.
