Dungeon Raider System-Chapter 380: Shadow infiltration
Nika moved across the building only someone with a trait like hers could. She blinked from shadow to shadow silently, stealthily moving across the hallways and beneath doors taking advantage of the bi-dimentional nature of shadows.
For someone as experienced as her, moving behind enemy lines unnoticed wasn't a big deal, but soon she realized it wouldn't be as simple as she initially thought. The reason for that was that she found a reinforced alloy door that seemed suspicios and although the guards looked completely normal, they emitted an eerie vibe that got her on high alert.
They couldn't sense her while she was in the shadows, but the moment she attempted to even poke her head out they immediately got wary.
"Did you feel that?"
"Yes, maybe someone activated a trait or something."
That short interaction between the guards got her thinking that maybe, just maybe, Uriel wasn't being paranoid and there really was an underground prison made by skinwalkers somewhere inside the building.
'Those guys are weird.' She thought, but couldn't quite put her finger on what was she found weird about them. Still, she decided to remain hidden for a short while and wait for an opportunity to jump to the next shadow.
While she was concealed inside a shadow she was completely immune to any sort of physical harm, but that didn't have anything to worry because she became weak to any skill or trait that channeled flux. In other words, she couldn't afford to being spotted because if the guards possessed a trait capable of harnessing the elements she could potentially die before even realizing it.
Unfortunately for her, while her presence was completely concealed, she couldn't remain hidden for too long since she spent a long time far from Uriel and her flux energy reserves were running low already.
"I'm telling you man, there's something weird in that corner."
"Don't tell me you're afraid of cryptids!" The guard laughed heartily. Instead of replying, though, his companion shifted its appearance into that of a taller man.
"Ah, this is much better... I hate to wear cowards." He said after cracking his neck.
'What the flag!' Nika inwardly screamed, but that wasn't all. What followed was even more shocking.
"I prefer shifting into hot women, like this." As the other guard said that, his facial features became softer, he grew a bit taller, his hair became longer and he went from looking like an ordiniary man to look like a dazzingly beautiful woman. Had that been all, it wouldn't have surprised Nika at all, but she knew that woman.
"How dare you," She muttered as she came out of the shadows with complete disregard for stealth and then continued. "where is she!?"
Both guards were taken aback by Nika appearing seemingly out of thin air and they flinched back thinking it may be a cryptid, at least until they heard Nika speak.
"This is a restricted area!"
"We'll have to arrest you, lady. Don't worry, your safety is guaranteed," The doppelganger mimicking Medusa said with a smirk. Doppelgangers were different from skinwalkers in the sense that they didn't consume the skin of their victim, they only needed to spend a small amount of flux energy to keep any shape they wanted.
There were a few conditions to become a perfect copy, though, which was why the guards didn't attack her no the spot.
"Arrest me?" Nika replied as she began channeling flux energy, her eyes became black voids and all the shadows in the hallway began flickering.
It was at that moment that Medusa's memories started flowing in on the doppelganger's mind. It was a long slow process, but even the first memories of Nika made the smirk on his face disappear and Medusa's copycat attempted to alert the other guard. "Watch out, she's a heavphmf..."
Medusa's copycat received a diresome punch that disfigured her face and Nika followed with a low kick the doppelganger couldn't dodge. Even if the original Medusa had incredible martial arts skills, the doppelganger wasn't able to absorb the knowlege and skills as fast as a skinwalker.
Unfortunately for Nika, the other man had shifted into a quite powerful hunter and had enough time to at least become comfortable on his skin.
The man launched a punch that was only a feint to the powerful gust of wind that followed and Nika hit the wall with so much force she coughed up blood, but the wind didn't stop coming out of the man's fist which gave the doppelganger impersonating Medusa to stand back up.
"What a nice skin suit, I'll do so many perverted things to it." The doppelganger said as it finished copying Nika's appearance.
"I can't believe you atually fell for it." Nika grinned as she merged with the shadows, enduring for an instant the pain caused by the enhanced effect the elemental attack had on her. Then, she appeared directly behind the tall man and placed a silver coin inside his armor.
The man began screaming and trying to remove it as he twisted and turned as though a red hot iron bar had been put in his clothes, but it was pointless. He struggled for half a minute before bursting into disgusting flesh bubbles.
"Now, you and I will have a little chat." Nika said to her copycat.
"Please, no, I'm a human! They did this against my will!" Nika's copycat cried.
"Open this door and I'll let you go."
"we were just guards, we don't have a key. Besides, I'm wearing your skin now so I know you're lying."
"Dammit!" Nika placed a hand on her chin on a pensive manner.

"I have an idea, I'll help you get the key and escape. That will at least give me an opportunity to survive." The copycat proposed.
"How do I know you're not lying?"

"Because that's what you would do, right? Wen you're cornered you comply and then escape at the first chance you get..."
After Nika finished giving her copycat a 'friendly beating' to pass as a copycat herself, she hurried over to the arena where Uriel's identity had already been outed.
