Chapter 205: Chapter 205: Hello Uncle, Uncle Knows How to Take Care of People
Bella Woods didn’t immediately answer Calvin Marshall’s question but finished her ice cream in her arms before sitting up.
She looked at Calvin and said, "I had originally decided to go our separate ways when we left the Woods Family. But now, I don’t want to."
"Hmm?"
"There’s still some time before I go abroad. I want to spend this time well with him."
Create more memories in this city.
After all, once she goes abroad, she won’t come back, and the withdrawal won’t be so intense by then.
"If..." Calvin hesitated, "If you’re willing, you could go abroad with him."
"That would mean falling too deep. Parting would be very painful in the future."
The longer the ties, the more places experienced, the harder it is to let go.
It’s better to have a deadline. Both are fine on their own, which is good.
Originally, Bella Woods had planned it this way, but Nina Sutton’s appearance disrupted her plan. To avoid trouble for Ashton Marshall, she mentioned the breakup in advance.
However, after what Nina Sutton and Ethan Marshall said, Bella felt uneasy.
She really thought, even if she was a stand-in, why should she step aside just because Nina returned?
She had her own demands too!
"But if he doesn’t want to, there’s nothing I can do," Bella shrugged.
"He should be willing. He’s been looking for you," Calvin added.
"Probably wants to clarify things," Bella smiled bitterly.
Calvin didn’t know how to respond.
After all, she wasn’t Bella Woods, nor Ashton Marshall, and didn’t understand their emotional dynamics.
But deep down, Calvin also believed what Bella said, that one day she and Ashton would part ways. After all, no matter their identities, ages, or personalities, there was still a significant gap.
The two didn’t chat, just silently sat together, watching people pass by.
It was calm and comfortable.
Not far away, Ashton Marshall opened the driver’s side window, held a cigarette in his right hand, and silently watched Bella quietly looking at the passersby.
After about half an hour to almost an hour, Bella suggested, "It’s late, will you take me home?"
"Sure," Calvin said.
She parked her motorcycle outside, helped Bella get on, and took her to her house near Peace University.
When Bella got home, she thought it should be quiet, thinking Ashton wouldn’t come here.
But when she pushed the door open and saw the bright lights inside and Ashton sitting on the sofa, clearly waiting for her, she was a bit dazed.
Ashton still wore the suit from the Woods Family, evidently not long back.
"You’re back?" He looked back at her calmly, as if it was a scene repeated countless times, Bella coming back from outside.
Bella nodded numbly, "Hmm... just sat with Sixty for a while."
After saying that, she raised the balloon string still wrapped around her wrist, the little pig balloon swaying along, "A gift from Sixty."
"Hmm, very cute."
Ashton stood up from the sofa and walked to Bella, untied the string from her, and the pig balloon instantly floated up to the ceiling.
Bella looked up at the pig balloon, suddenly a little lost.
"Are you hungry?" Ashton asked.
Bella refocused her gaze, "A little hungry, I want to eat something, and I also want..."
"Want what else?"
"Have a drink," Bella looked straight at him and said, "I want to drink with you."
"Hmm, okay." Ashton nodded, gently cupping Bella’s face, leaving a kiss on her forehead, "You go shower first, I’ll fix up some snacks for you, okay?"
Bella nodded.
Ashton took off his jacket and gave it to her, loosened his tie and shirt buttons, and rolled up his sleeves, heading to the kitchen.
Bella hugged Ashton’s jacket tightly, watching him walk to the open kitchen and open the fridge, clearly contemplating what dish to make with some alcohol.
Bella was engrossed, until Ashton turned around, making her quickly shift her gaze and return to her room.
Half an hour later.
Bella came out after tidying up, her hair simply blown due to laziness, half-wet and half-dry.
"Why didn’t you blow your hair properly again?" Ashton frowned, pulling Bella towards the bathroom, grabbing the hairdryer to dry her hair.
Bella was reluctant, "It’s troublesome, I’m hungry..."
"It’s night now, if your hair is wet, you might have a headache. Be good," Ashton kissed her lips coaxingly, "It’ll be over soon."
"I’m hungry," Bella protested.
Ashton held her cheeks gently, denying her any chance to protest and using the hairdryer on her hair.
Bella watched herself and Ashton in the mirror, she barely reaching his chest, and he easily handling the hairdryer, her black hair entwining his long, beautiful fingers, loosely falling.
"I just don’t like drying my hair," Bella muttered.
The hairdryer wasn’t loud, her mutterings easily audible to Ashton.
He merely curved his lips with endearment, "Alright, I’ll always help you dry it from now on."
’From now on’ is such a beautiful term.
Bella didn’t speak anymore, her hair dried quickly, especially since it was already half damp, and in a few minutes, it was completely dry.
Ashton tidied up the hairdryer and guided Bella to the dining area.
"I want to go to the living room, eat while watching shows," Bella pointed to the living room.
Ashton agreed, "Hmm, then go ahead first, I’ll tidy up and bring it over."
"Need help?"
"No, go on." He nudged her.
Bella obediently headed to the living room.
She disliked sitting on the sofa, preferring the carpet, turning on the TV and selecting a comedy show.
Ashton placed the meals he had prepared in front of Bella one by one.
Bella watched TV while sneaking glances at Ashton being busy.
She really loved this feeling, feeling cared for by someone, like a child.
The missing childhood joy was all being filled.
"Where’s my drink?"
Everything was set, but not the drink Bella wanted, so she had to look up and ask Ashton.
"Do you really want to drink?" Ashton asked with a smile.
Apparently, he hadn’t planned for it, even taking Bella’s earlier suggestion as a joke.
Bella frowned unhappily, "Of course I want to drink. Don’t you let me drink, Ashton!"
"Alright, alright, I’ll get it now." Ashton patted Bella’s head soothingly, "What type of drink do you want? Fruit wine or beer, or red wine?"
"Can you mix?" Bella’s eyes sparkled.
Ashton: ...
"Little Bella," he laughed helplessly, "you treat me like I can do anything."
"So can you or not?"
"I can."
Bella immediately cheered up, "Great, good uncle is considerate."
