Chapter 197: Chapter 197: It Turns Out He Knew She Was Unhappy

Bella Woods sat silently in the car, feeling a sense of absurdity and irony at that moment.

She felt like an outsider in a play, witnessing the reunion of people who once loved each other, with an exchange of glances she couldn’t even breathe into.

Bella herself didn’t know how much time had passed until Nina Sutton seemed to come back to her senses, discreetly wiping away the tears at the corners of her eyes, and glanced at Bella.

"You’ve got things here; I think I should just..."

Nina turned to leave when Ashton Marshall suddenly reached out and grabbed her arm, "Wait a moment."

He looked down and dialed a phone number, and soon a black business car drove up and stopped at the side. Tim Season stepped out of the car.

"I happened to be handling some things nearby," Tim explained, pausing when he saw Nina Sutton, "Why are you still..."

His words abruptly stopped as he looked between Ashton and Bella in the car.

Ashton didn’t respond to him but turned around, placing a hand on the car door, "Let Tim take you to Peace University first. I have some things to handle here, alright?"

Bella looked at Ashton, unsure of what to feel at that moment. The only thought she had was that Ashton encountered his ’white moonlight’ and wanted her to avoid causing suspicion.

Her presence made it impossible for him to explain to another girl.

And at that moment, she didn’t even have the right to say no.

"Okay." Bella tried hard to lift the corners of her mouth, aiming to show a calm smile, though unsure if she succeeded. Deep down, she forced herself not to reveal too much emotion.

She had no right.

Bella got out of the car, and Ashton took out her school tools, personally handing them to Tim on the car.

As Bella got into the vehicle, Ashton touched her face and left a kiss on her forehead, "Once I’m done here, I’ll come find you."

"Okay." Bella obediently said, then climbed into the car.

As Ashton closed the car door, he cast a glance at Tim, who was watching nearby.

"I’ll take her over first." Tim quickly reacted and got into the car.

As Tim’s car drove away, Bella just happened to see Nina Sutton shed teardrops and rush into Ashton’s embrace.

It was as if the emotions suppressed for so long finally got released now that ’the outsider’ Bella was gone.

"Cough, cough." Tim pretended to cough, attracting Bella’s attention, "Uh, don’t mind them. Third Young Master and Nina Sutton have some old issues to handle. Back then..."

"You don’t need to explain to me; I’m fine," Bella interrupted him with a smile.

Tim glanced at her without saying anything, simply handing her a tissue, offering an excuse, "Your face is dirty, wipe it off."

"Thank you." Bella took the tissue, pressing it against her face.

She didn’t need to look to know just how embarrassing this was for her.

Thankfully, Tim didn’t expose her.

After that, neither spoke in the car.

Bella once more adjusted her emotions when Tim arrived at the school.

Just as she was pushing open the car door, Tim followed her out, ready to take the tools in her hand, "I’ll carry it inside; it’s quite heavy..."

Tim hadn’t finished speaking when Bella adeptly slung the tool bag over her shoulder and held the drawing board.

"I’ve been painting since high school, carrying it everywhere with me. It’s a habit, not heavy for me, no need for anyone to carry my tools."

The words seemed directed at Tim but felt more like she was reminding herself.

"Thank you for bringing me here, Young Master Season. Sorry for the trouble."

Bella said her farewells to Tim and walked into the school with her things.

Tim watched her resolute figure disappearing, shrugged helplessly, "Third Young Master, you’ve put yourself in trouble now."

Saying this, Tim took out his phone, searched for the contact of a little reporter: Want some gossip?

The person replied immediately: Give me some information first.

Tim: A trillionaire’s love story in mere trifles.

Little Reporter: Hotel address!

Tim sent over the hotel address as wished, a satisfied smile playing on his lips.

As soon as Bella returned to the classroom, she focused on her lessons, forcing herself to push away distractions and diligently paint.

"You can rest a bit; your state isn’t ideal today—you’re fretful and scattered in your strokes," The mentor commented while passing by Bella.

Bella, who had just blended the colors ready to stroke, felt a bit at a loss.

The mentor bent down to communicate with Bella, "Your painting style has always been tranquil, possessing an inner strength with resilience. But your recent state clearly has issues—restless, strokes unstable. I suggest you put down the brush for now and adjust your state."

The mentor stood up, patting Bella on the shoulder, "Don’t think too much of it; emotions come in varieties. It’s normal to feel down sometimes. Putting down the brush during these times isn’t a bad way to cope."

After saying this, the mentor moved on, offering guidance to another student.

Bella sat silently in front of her artwork for quite a long while before she finally put down her brush. She packed up briefly, taking her tools as she left the classroom.

It was still class time, but Peace University, a well-established academy, had an unspeakable sense of composure lingering on its campus paths.

With nowhere to go, Bella simply went to the usual lawn where she painted.

It was also where Ashton used to accompany her for painting.

Resting her chin on her knee, she tapped her phone screen intermittently with her fingers.

The phone was void of any messages, silent.

Especially the chat history with a certain someone, still paused on their last video call.

"Little Bella!"

The sudden call jerked Bella’s thoughts back.

Lifting her head, she saw Calvin Marshall running towards her, always brimming with vibrant, joyful energy. She couldn’t help but give Bella a big hug.

"I’ve been looking for you everywhere, Little Bella," Calvin exclaimed.

"What is it?" Bella asked casually.

"Nothing really, just came to take you for some desserts," Calvin showed Bella the list of dessert shops she had noted down on her phone.

While looking at Calvin’s phone, a message from Ashton popped up: She likes desserts and strawberry milk tea.

Not expecting the message to pop up and let Bella see it, Calvin looked at Bella awkwardly and could only confess.

"I was actually in class when my third brother texted me, asking me to come find you," Calvin said with a grin.

Bella didn’t respond, she merely gave a small smile.

So, he knew she was unhappy.

But either way, she was nothing more than a plaything, to put it harshly, Ashton treated her nicely because she bore a slight resemblance to Nina Sutton.

Now that Nina Sutton was back, all she could do was wisely step back, with no other choice.
