Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Little Girlfriend? Do You Think I’m Unpresentable?

Oliver Hughes suddenly asked this question, and Bella Woods instantly tightened her grip on her chopsticks.

"I like it," Ashton Marshall was very straightforward, "Why would I keep someone by my side if I didn’t like them?"

"True," Oliver Hughes felt his question was quite superfluous.

Unable to resist looking at Bella Woods beside him, Oliver couldn’t help but smile. He felt like he was overthinking, always suspecting some relationship between Ashton Marshall and Bella Woods.

But on second thought, Ashton Marshall’s affection for a woman might naturally lead him to help Bella Woods, since she was close to that woman.

Moreover, as Oliver saw it, Bella Woods knew well how to make elders like her. Whether it was Cyan Marshall or Ashton Marshall, it was the same pattern.

"So, Uncle, when will you introduce your future aunt to me?" Oliver’s focus was now on his future aunt.

Yet Ashton merely chuckled, "Introduce what, your future aunt is afraid to let me meet others."

"Why is that?" Oliver didn’t understand.

"I’m not fit to be seen."

"Cough, cough!"

Ashton’s words choked Bella Woods, and she quickly reached for a napkin to wipe her mouth.

Cyan Marshall reached out to stroke her back, "Are you okay? How did you suddenly choke?"

Bella took a moment before explaining, "I ate in a bit of a hurry."

"Eat slowly," Cyan said as she had someone pour Bella a glass of warm water.

"Okay," Bella nodded obediently.

Oliver, however, didn’t pay much attention to Bella’s situation; he was only concerned about Ashton and his future aunt.

Just as Oliver was about to ask again, Cyan said, "Stop chatting with your uncle and let him eat."

Since Cyan said so, Oliver couldn’t say much and had to lower his head to continue eating.

Although still curious about his future aunt, he thought he would ask slowly later.

The rest of dinner passed quietly, without further discussion about Ashton and the little girlfriend, allowing them to eat in peace.

For Bella Woods, however, the end of dinner brought its own troubles.

"Bella, I’ll have Oliver take you home," Cyan suggested.

Oliver was now quite eager to assist Bella, already selecting car keys, "Yes, I was thinking it’s late, I should take you home."

Although Bella didn’t understand why Oliver suddenly changed his attitude towards her, she didn’t want to spend much time with him.

Moreover, Ashton was still there.

Although the man didn’t show much, Bella dared not look at Ashton too openly, yet she was sensitive enough to feel the emotions of those around her.

She could clearly sense that Ashton had been unhappy all evening.

If she really let Oliver take her home, tonight’s issues wouldn’t be resolved.

She didn’t want any unpleasantness with Ashton before she left; she just wanted them both to be happy.

"No need to trouble Oliver," Bella gathered her courage to express her refusal.

This surprised Daniel Hughes.

"Why?" Oliver was dissatisfied, "It’s so late, you can’t just call a car here, nor would we let you do that. It’s normal for me to take you home, isn’t it?"

"I just think it’s too much trouble," Bella said, looking at Cyan for help.

Cyan understood, "I can have a driver take you..."

"No need, I’m leaving too; I might as well drop this kid off on the way," Ashton said casually, turning to Bella, "What do you think?"

Bella steeled herself to respond, "If it wouldn’t inconvenience you, Third Young Master, that would be best."

"How could it be?" Ashton said meaningfully, "My little girlfriend shares the same concerns as you, asking me to take care of you."

"Then I’ll trouble you, Third Young Master," Bella hurriedly accepted to prevent any changes.

She looked at Cyan and said, "Aunt Cyan, since Third Young Master brought me here earlier, it’s only natural for him to take me back, so no need to trouble the family. You can rest assured."

Cyan nodded, "That’s good, then."

Oliver, clutching the keys, was quite disgruntled but suppressed it, eventually not holding back, "You really know how to play this game."

"Oliver," Cyan reminded him.

Oliver, realizing his words were inappropriate, said nothing more, "I’m going upstairs."

He took the elevator directly upstairs.

"He just has that temper. Before, as his fiancée, you had to put up with it. Now as his sister, if you’re unhappy, you don’t have to endure it. Just remember, if you and Oliver argue, both your uncle and I will be on your side," Cyan reassured Bella.

"Yes, don’t be afraid. Any problem will be because of Oliver, not you. Your aunt and I are always on your side," Daniel added.

"Thank you, uncle and aunt," Bella said gratefully.

However, she knew that no matter what, Oliver was their son, and she couldn’t compare to that. Minor issues might be handled with care for her, but only to that extent.

Bella wasn’t so unaware as to think she could do whatever she wanted with impunity.

However, once she left, she wouldn’t need to worry about these things anymore.

"Well, then, I’ll take her with me now."

Ashton stood up, his hand naturally resting on the back of Bella’s neck. After greeting Daniel and Cyan, he led Bella out directly.

Ashton, with his long legs, always had to take long strides, making Bella take two or three steps to keep up with each of his. In the past, he would slow down but now, clearly displeased, he walked faster than before. Bella, pulled along, struggled to keep up and was nearly lifted off the ground.

As Ashton led Bella out, Cyan and Daniel exchanged a glance, their expressions quite solemn.

Some things remained unsaid, but the nature of some relationships was well understood between them.

"I just spoke with Bella, and she hopes I can help her handle the study abroad matter," Cyan said, sitting beside Daniel, "She said she feared trouble from the Woods Family, and wished for these things to be handled secretly, waiting to tell them until she’s on the plane."

After hearing this, Daniel commented, "She’s a smart and obedient girl."

"Yes," Cyan sighed, still very fond of Bella Woods.

However, some things she couldn’t comprehend, and some relationships couldn’t be exposed, so ultimately only Bella was wronged.

"Rest assured, I’ll handle this matter," Daniel said, "Whether it’s the study abroad matter or issues with her school and Woods Family later on."

"Let me discuss with Bella and deal with the Woods Family afterward," Cyan said, "We must ensure that the Woods Family gives Bella her shares, making them realize that Bella’s work has a price, and nothing is taken for granted."

Mentioning the Woods Family angered Cyan again.

"I don’t know what they’re thinking, treating their own flesh and blood so unequally, taking for granted her hard work and finally, breaking her heart."

"It’s all in the past now; Bella will only get better from here on," Daniel comforted his wife as he pulled her into his embrace.
