Dual Cultivation: I Summon Villainesses of Mythic Era-Chapter 69: In the footsteps of the Dao Executor
* At the capital*
Several hundred meters above the ramparts, two silhouettes floated in the sky.
The Princess of the Nether Dynasty observed the city below with detachment.
At her side, Hue Qing.
"Look at them, Qing’er," began Xue Ming.
"They sleep, they fuck, they live insignificant little lives while your destiny calls you. "
Hue Qing turned her head toward the princess, her hands hidden in her sleeves trembling slightly.
"Is this... is this really necessary, Madam ?" she asked in a fragile voice. "So many lives for a simple demonstration ?"
Xue Ming seized her by the chin, forcing eye contact. A cruel smile stretched her lips painted in black.
"Pity is a mortal luxury, little one. I will kill them and you will devour them. Start getting used to this kind of feast, because this is how we will reach the top. You need Qi to stabilize your divine physique, and this city is a reservoir of food that only asks to be picked. "
The princess released her grip and stared at the capital again.
"The massacre begins now."
Without a cry, Xue Ming plunged toward the ground.
In mid-flight, she activated her Arts of the Ten Shadows.
The space behind her seemed to tear apart, releasing a darkness blacker than the night itself. From her immense shadow, which now extended over entire districts, emerged creatures made of pure darkness. These abominations, equipped with oversized claws and jaws filled with sharp teeth, let out howls before descending upon the guards on the ramparts.
The carnage was instantaneous. One shadow creature seized a soldier by the head and ripped it off with a sharp tug, leaving a geyser of blood spraying the stone slabs. Another guard was literally cut in two, his intestines spilling onto his boots while he was still trying to draw his sword.
Xue Ming landed with the lightness of a feather in the center of the market square. She extended her hands, and threads of violet energy shot from her fingers, decapitating a dozen civilians who were emerging from their sleep. The bodies fell like stalks of wheat, the sound of severed flesh replacing the silence of the night.
Above, Hue Qing’s face also turned cold. Seeing the blood flow, her restraint shattered. She descended in turn, not to fight, but to harvest. She activated her Emerald Abyss Physique at full power. Immediately, an invisible vortex formed around her. The Qi of the dying was violently ripped from their fleshly shells.
"Ahhh... this sensation..." murmured Hue Qing.
She did not even need to move. The environmental Qi and the vital essence of Xue Ming’s victims were passively sucked into her meridians with monstrous greed. She watched the corpses dry up in a few seconds under the effect of her power.
Princess Xue Ming, for her part, was not idle. She walked through the blood flooding the square, activating her Cadaveric Yin Qi Art.
She absorbed the Qi of the fresh corpses and the warm blood spreading on the ground. Every drop of vital fluid that came into contact with her aura made her more powerful, her violet eyes shining with demonic intensity as her cultivation base skyrocketed.
"More, Qing’er ! Absorb everything !" shouted Xue Ming while projecting a new wave of devouring shadows toward the royal palace.
The massacre spread. Shadow creatures entered the houses, tearing the limbs of children in front of their parents before devouring the latter. The screams of terror were muffled by the crushing spiritual pressure emitted by the two women.
Consequently, the air became saturated with the smell of iron and death. Hue Qing, now floating a few meters above the ground. Her complexion, once pale, illuminated with an unhealthy emerald glow. She felt every spiritual core breaking inside her, strengthening her own foundation.
"It’s... delicious..." admitted Hue Qing, her black gaze fixing on a patrol of Nascent Soul cultivators attempting a desperate charge.
With a simple wave of her hand, Princess Xue summoned shadow spikes that burst from the ground, impaling the cultivators from the bottom of the abdomen and exiting through their mouths. Blood flowed along the black tips, instantly nourishing the cadaveric art.
"Look at them crawling, Qing’er," said Xue Ming while approaching one of the survivors who was trying to hold his entrails with both hands.
She crushed the dying man’s head under her boot, then turned toward her protégé.
"Have you eaten enough ?"
Hue Qing nodded, her aura vibrating with unstable Law Master power.
"I feel like I’m about to break through... the hunger has calmed down for the moment," she replied, her voice having lost all trace of shyness.
Xue Ming smiled with satisfaction.
In one word... it was a perfect massacre. The royal capital of the Purple Mist Kingdom was now nothing more than an open-air morgue, strewn with thousands of dried corpses and scattered limbs.
"Let’s go," concluded Xue Ming while observing the first lights of dawn appearing on the horizon.
....
*Purple Mist Kingdom... Southern Ruins...*
The wind whistled lugubriously between the broken columns of the southern ruins, carrying the corrosive stench of Khao.
Xuan BaiShe advanced with a calm step, hands clasped behind his back, with Yi Lan at his side.
"Darling, why do we have to follow this idiot Executor ?" asked Yi Lan in a honeyed voice but tinged with a hint of annoyance, her slender nails distractedly caressing the handle of a small jade mirror she held in her hand.
"I could kill him in an instant, as well as that envoy from the dao temple accompanying him, and we could recover those treasures without waiting."
BaiShe adjusted his sage monocle, capturing the sound waves transmitted by the tracking pill he had slipped to Huojin.
"Patience is the virtue of predators, Lan’er," he replied calmly.
Suddenly, the air became saturated with a heavy and nauseating spiritual pressure.
"Again these bags of putrefied meat," sighed BaiShe while stopping. "They seem to be becoming more and more numerous as we approach the area."
Yi Lan took a step forward, her Celestial Fox aura beginning to vibrate, although she held back from releasing all her power so as not to alert the two targets ahead of them. She raised her jade mirror in front of her.
"Let me handle it, darling," she murmured with a carnivorous smile. "These insects are starting to bore me."
Three five-horned Rakshasas leaped simultaneously, projecting purple Khao lasers from their masks.
Yi Lan did not move. With a simple flick of her wrist, she activated her Law : The Embrace of Obsessive Illusion.
The mirror in her hand shone with an evil pink glow, and instantly, dozens of translucent projectiles, similar to mirror shards, materialized in the air around her.
The shards flew at a speed defying perception. The first Rakshasa saw his Khao laser literally cut in two by a mirror fragment before the latter sliced his throat.
