Drama Queen Reborn as a Top Student!-Chapter 682 - 284
"Scorpio women and Pisces men, both are water signs, a compatibility rating of 100%. Truly a match made in heaven."
Feng Cheng usually loves diving into astrology, and this was right up his alley.
Qi Baotan almost sprayed the tea he had been drinking out of his mouth.
Feng Cheng was still showing off what little astrology knowledge he had, talking at great length and with tireless enthusiasm.
Qi Baotan saw that Rong Xianning’s expression seemed a bit unnatural, and quickly interrupted Feng Cheng: "I’m a Taurus. Could you calculate for me and tell me what my soulmate’s zodiac sign would be?"
Qi Baotan deliberately brought up the question to divert the topic, hoping Feng Cheng would stop focusing on Shen You’an and Rong Xianning, sparing them both further awkwardness. But as she kept listening, she actually found his explanation quite reasonable. It seemed like finding a boyfriend who’s a Virgo might indeed lower the likelihood of breaking up.
Bah, bah, what boyfriend? Men in this world are all unreliable. Falling in love is no match for pursuing a career.
Then she glanced at Feng Cheng’s chattering little mouth and suddenly found herself annoyed.
What exactly fills that boy’s brain all day?
And so, the noisy meal came to a close.
Rong Xianning looked over at Shen You’an: "Let me know when you come to Jingzhou next time, I’ll treat you to dinner."
Shen You’an readily agreed, "Sure."
The night grew deep, but the night market remained bustling with voices.
Shen You’an and Qi Baotan bid their farewells and departed.
Rong Xianning stood there, gazing at their retreating figures disappearing into the darkness.
Feng Cheng waved his hand in front of him, "Snap out of it."
Rong Xianning looked away and gave a light cough, "Brother Hu, why don’t you send Feng Cheng back to the hotel?"
Feng Cheng pursued further, "What about you?"
Rong Xianning replied nonchalantly, "I feel like walking around for a bit."
Xiao Hu furrowed his brows, "I’d better come with you, otherwise I won’t feel at ease."
"With my appearance, no one’s going to recognize me. Besides, I know Qingzhou better than any of you. I could walk here blindfolded and not get lost."
Xiao Hu left with Feng Cheng.
Rong Xianning stood there for a while before stepping into the night market. He walked slowly, as if soaking in the hustle and bustle of human existence, or perhaps reminiscing about something.
Passing by a stall, he stopped.
It was the same place where Feng Cheng had bought fried rice cakes earlier — business was thriving as usual, and the middle-aged stall owner was still busy.
Suddenly, a phone rang from the pocket of the stall owner’s apron.
The owner didn’t have time to answer, so the ringtone persisted.
One of the customers waiting for fried rice cakes couldn’t help but remind him, "Sir, your phone’s been ringing nonstop—maybe you should grab it."
Only then did the owner take out his phone. Whatever the person on the other end said made his face change drastically. "Okay, okay, I’ll head back immediately."
As soon as he hung up, he began tidying up the stall. "Sorry, everyone, something urgent came up at home. I have to close early. I’ll refund those of you who already paid." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
The waiting customers complained mildly but were unable to do anything, grumbling before dispersing.
The owner packed his things and loaded them into a tricycle. In his haste, an iron wok fell off the vehicle, nearly hitting him, but a hand shot out from nearby and caught it steadily.
The owner turned his head, finding the person faintly familiar. "Ah, it’s you. Thanks a lot! Come find me next time—I’ll treat you for free."
After handing back the wok, the man secured it with a rope, mounted the tricycle, and prepared to leave.
But he was too flustered and tied the rope carelessly, leaving the tools in the cart swaying precariously. After traveling only a couple of steps, the tools were about to fall off.
Turning back, he saw the same youth standing beside the tricycle, using his hand as a makeshift rope to keep the tools from falling.
"This will save you some time. Let’s hurry up."
The owner froze before blurting out an "Oh" and resumed pedaling his bike desperately.
Shen You’an put Qi Baotan into Wu Yong’s car and then made his way back to the night market.
Just as he reached the market’s entrance, he crossed paths with Feng Cheng and Xiao Hu coming out.
Feng Cheng, absorbed in looking around, didn’t even notice Shen You’an.
Xiao Hu glanced at Shen You’an, swiftly nodded, then quietly dropped his gaze.
