Dragon System: Red Dragon Legacy-Chapter 62: Fragment of The Starforged Class
’Here we go,’ Orion thought grimly.
Anger surged through him as he slammed his fist onto the desk. His aura leaked out uncontrollably, flooding the classroom. Instantly, everyone stiffened, going on high alert.
Orion sucked in a deep breath and quickly restrained himself.
He turned to the guard standing near the door and gave a short nod.
"Alright. Lead the way."
The guard escorted him out of the classroom and toward a secluded area far from the main academy buildings.
Five extravagant structures stood side by side, each resembling a small grand castle.
Normally, Orion might have admired the scenery—but his mind was burning with anger.
’These fucking people think they can order me around,’ he gritted his teeth. ’Just wait,...’
Then he paused.
’Why am I overreacting this much...’ Orion exhaled slowly, forcing himself to calm down.
’Let’s just hear what the headmistress has to say first.’
They soon entered what looked like a classroom—though it felt more like a royal hall. The moment Orion stepped inside, all twenty students snapped their heads toward him, eyes filled with curiosity.
He felt like an animal on display.
"Welcome, Orion."
A woman wearing a witch’s hat approached him with a smile. He recognized her—Rachel.
"So where’s the headmistress?" Orion asked bluntly, narrowing his eyes. "I thought she was the one who summoned me."
"Ohhh... why the rush?" Rachel replied sweetly. "Why don’t you sit in for this class? I’ll take you to her once it’s finished, okay?"
But Orion wasn’t having it.
"With all due respect, Miss Rachel, I’d rather meet her now. I also need to return to my own class." Orion said in an angry tone.
A collective gasp echoed through the room.
"How dare you speak to a teacher like that!" Prince Henry shouted.
"It’s not his fault," Selen said with a scoff. "He’s just a commoner. He didn’t receive the same upbringing we did, so it’s understandable," she added, her tone dripping with mockery.
Lilian immediately snapped her gaze toward Selen, fury flashing in her eyes—But Selen just scoffed and looked away.
Though not everyone in the classroom thought the same as Selen.
"He’s so dreamy..." murmured the blue-haired hero candidate, Josephine.
"I know, right?" Princess Julia giggled from behind her.
"Silence," Rachel commanded.
Princess Julia’s smile vanished immediately.
"I understand," Rachel said, her gentle expression shifting into a cold one. "I’ll take you to the headmistress now."
Orion could tell—she was not pleased.
As they walked down the hallway, Orion slowed his steps.
"Miss Rachel... I’m sorry for my behavior earlier. I’ve been under a lot of stress lately, and I didn’t mean to be rude."
Rachel laughed lightly.
"It’s fine. Though... is your stress related to Lilian, perhaps?"
Orion’s eyes widened.
"Oh, don’t look so surprised," she said with a mischievous giggle. "I saw how you two looked at each other when you made eye contact."
Orion sighed. "Yeah... that’s one of my problems."
Rachel tilted her head. "My, my. So many troubles at such a young age."
They soon arrived at the headmistress’s office.
"Here you go, Evelyn," Rachel said playfully as they entered. "I brought your new favorite star."
The headmistress lifted her gaze from the documents in her hand.
"Oh... Rachel."
Then her eyes shifted to Orion, before flicking back to Rachel with a cryptic look.
Rachel seemed to understand and promptly left the room.
"Why don’t you sit?" the headmistress said, gesturing to the chair across from her.
"So," Orion began as he sat down, "what do you want from me? And is it true you put me in a dungeon expedition with the hero candidates?"
She didn’t answer immediately—only studied him in silence.
"Yes," she finally said. "I did. Do you have a problem with that?"
Her casual tone made Orion’s blood boil.
’Do I have a problem with that?’
’What am I—some kind of slave?’
"I’m sorry," Orion said coldly, "but do I look like someone you can command without explanation? I don’t care if you’re a queen or not. Treat me like that again, and I’ll happily leave this academy immediately."
Disrespecting someone in her position like that was punishable by whatever the queen saw fit.
Yet she didn’t look offended in the slightest.
"If you don’t want to participate, just say so," she replied calmly, returning to her paperwork.
"Thank you," Orion said, standing up. He turned to leave.
"Although..." she added, "you might want to reconsider."
She placed a faintly glowing stone on the desk.
’A shiny rock?’ Orion scoffed internally. ’That’s it?’
Then—
[A Half fragment of the Starforged class has been detected.]
Orion froze.
’A fragment... of the Starforged class?!’
His expression hardened.
"I know what you’re thinking," the headmistress said. "It looks like nothing special, but—"
"What do I have to do to get it?" Orion cut in sharply.
She blinked.
’Does he know what it is?’
Most people dismissed the stone as mere decoration. Few knew it radiated energy capable of healing minor injuries—an item easily ranked A-class.
"What do you know about this item?" she asked, now curious.
"Only as much as you do," Orion replied.
"And what might that be?"
"Why don’t you tell me first?" he smirked.
She rolled her eyes. The item was useless to her anyway.
"You’ll get it if you remain part of the expedition."
"Deal."
"O... oh. Alright," she muttered, surprised by how easily he agreed.
"So are you gonna hand it over now, or after the expedition ends?"
The headmistress’s eyes narrowed.
"Don’t be so greedy," she said, then her expression softened into a thoughtful look. "Tell you what—I’ll give this to you halfway through the expedition. Happy?"
"Yes," Orion said, smiling.
"Now go. And remember, the expedition begins the day after tomorrow."
Orion nodded and left.
Outside, Rachel was waiting.
She smiled as she passed him and entered the office.
"You offered him that stone, didn’t you?" Rachel said, pouting. "Even though it was a gift from me."
"It wasn’t useful to me," Evelyn replied. "Besides, it made things easier."
Rachel sighed. "Why are you going this far for that boy anyway? What are you trying to see? I thought His Majesty already had people watching him."
Evelyn leaned back in her chair, eyes dark. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"You know my relationship with my husband," she said quietly. "And secondly... I have a hunch about him."
"What kind of hunch?"
"I won’t say—until I’m sure."
Then Rachel’s eyes lit up.
"Wait... don’t tell me you actually believe he’s the one who’ll break the Queen’s seal?"
Evelyn sighed.
"You’re right."
"What? Just because he was able to kill a B-rank beast alone? I mean, that’s not exactly a unique feat for someone his age," Rachel said, sitting across from Evelyn.
"I know," Evelyn replied. "That’s why I said it’s just a hunch."
Then Rachel let out a sigh.
"That boy has the potential to become one of the kingdom’s strongest assets. So whatever you do, be careful not to scare him away to another kingdom."
"I know," Evelyn said as they began to plan how to monitor Orion without him noticing.
