Chapter 54: Sofia’s Obsession

Sofia bumping into Orion wasn’t a coincidence at all. She had been stalking him since morning.

When she learned that Orion and Lilian were living in the same house, she made up her mind to go all in and pursue Orion. She already knew there was some kind of chemistry between Orion and Lilian, and if she waited too long, it might be too late for her.

And the thought of Orion and Llian living under the same roof made her blood boil. Every time she imagined the possibilities, irritation burned in her chest.

She decided she wouldn’t wait any longer.

She knew it was ridiculous to develop feelings after just one meeting. But that meeting hadn’t been normal—it had been intense, overwhelming, and unforgettable.

That was the root of her obsession.

Sofia had never felt genuine excitement in relationships. She had dated handsome, smart, and talented men of all kinds, yet she never felt anything beyond boredom. No spark. No thrill.

That was why she always broke things off after just a few meetings. Watching their devastated expressions as they realized they had lost her was the only satisfaction she ever gained from those relationships.

But when she first met Orion, she was caught off guard by how attractive she found him. Curious, she decided to approach him

When they finally interacted alone, she could feel something inside her growing stronger with every second.

Then, without warning, a flood of emotions crashed into her chest, as if a dam had burst inside her heart.

But that wasn’t all.

When they shared their first kiss, a message appeared in her Power Codex—her class had leveled up.

Her B-rank Alluring King class was already terrifying. It didn’t just charm humans; it could also influence monsters and even command them to a certain extent.

She was surprised, because she hadn’t done anything noteworthy at that moment that should have caused her class to rank up.

So when she saw the message, she could only come up with one explanation—Orion was the reason her class had ranked up.

She knew how absurd it sounded—ranking up a class from a single kiss. It wasn’t just unheard of; it was impossible. No one would even think to consider such a possibility. Why would a class rank up because of a kiss? It made no sense at all.

Yet, every instinct she had told her the same thing.

It was him.

And that wasn’t the only reason she was after Orion.

She wanted to experience that feeling again—the rush, the intensity, the strange connection she felt when she kissed him.

Again and again.

Forever.

And she knew, without a shred of doubt, that only Orion could give her that.

So she resolved not to stop at anything.

She wanted Orion. And she would get him.

In the present time

Orion and Sofia walked side by side through the capital.

They entered a fancy restaurant and ordered their food.

"So, what’s new with you?" Orion asked as he took a bite. "How did you manage the tests?"

"It was alright," Sofia replied casually. "I think I’ll make it into Division A. What about you? I heard you and my brother caused quite a scene." She smiled brightly.

"Well... it was all circumstantial," Orion said. Sofia could tell he didn’t want to talk about it.

She smoothly changed the subject.

"So," Sofia said teasingly, leaning back, "I heard you and Lilian are staying together now... sooo... are you two an item?"

Despite her playful tone, Orion could clearly sense the irritation beneath it.

"No," he replied calmly. "We’re just friends. Lilian was kind enough to let me stay since I don’t know much about this kingdom or the capital."

Sofia visibly relaxed.

"So," she leaned forward, resting her chin on her hands, "are you looking for a girlfriend?"

Orion leaned back in his chair. "I don’t know. If someone catches my eye, then sure—why not?"

"Oh?" Sofia’s expression turned serious. "And what kind of girl would catch your eye?"

Orion thought for a moment.

"I’ve never really thought about it. I don’t have a specific type. I just know it when it happens."

Sofia grew quiet, already planning her next move.

After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant.

As they crossed a small bridge over the lake, their eyes met.

Sofia blushed, and Orion felt something stir in his chest.

’Damn... she really is gorgeous.’

Suddenly, Sofia took his hand.

"Do you want to have some fun?" she asked.

Orion blinked, confused.

"Come on," she said with a grin. "I know a place you’ll definitely like."

Before he could respond, she pulled him along.

While Orion and Sofia enjoyed their time together, chaos brewed elsewhere.

Ryan knelt on the cold floor, his head bowed before the Madam.

"What do you mean?" she said slowly, her aura turning oppressive, "that one of the monsters from the Purgatory Box has been slain?"

"Yes, but—" Ryan swallowed hard. "I summoned a B-rank monster. I had no idea someone at C-rank could kill it."

Her interest sharpened.

"You mean it wasn’t a teacher who killed it?" she said quietly.

"No," said the man standing behind her throne. "The teachers are forbidden from entering the dimension, no matter what happens."

"That’s interesting..."

She turned her gaze to Ryan. "Find out who killed the monster. I want that information as soon as possible."

Before Ryan could respond, a figure stepped out from a dark corner of the room.

He was a middle-aged man, yet despite his age, he carried himself with such composure that he looked far younger. It was Count Norris—the man preparing to challenge Headmistress Evelyn for the principal’s seat.

"I believe I already have that information, Madam," he said with a sly grin.

"But Count Norris," said the man standing behind the Madam’s throne, "how did you acquire that information? I believe only a select few were aware of it."

"I have my ways," Count Norris replied, clearly unwilling to reveal more.

"Oscar, enough," the Madam commanded.

Then she turned back to Count Norris, her gaze sharp.

"Tell me," she said slowly. "Who was it?"

"Oh?" she replied. "Then who is it?"

"It was a boy named Orion," Count Norris said calmly. "He’s already on your radar."

The Madam’s eyes widened.

Then she burst out laughing.

"Ha... ha... ha... ha... ha!"

"I was only interested in him before because of his strange skill," she said, wiping a tear from her eye. "But this—this truly takes the cake."

Her laughter died instantly.

Her expression turned cold.

"I want to meet him," she said firmly. "As soon as possible."

The man beside her leaned forward.

"Madam, shall I bring him to you?"

"No," she replied.

Her lips curved into a slow, predatory smile.

"There’s no need," she said. "I’ll meet him myself."
