Dragged Into Another World Because of My Otaku Friend-Chapter 164: Save The Princess
"Urggh... my head." Lee held his head as he woke up. He then looked around and saw he was inside a tent.
"You woke up already?" A voice came from beside him. He turned and saw Mark sitting on the ground with his back against one of the tent pillars, drinking from a cup.
"Where are we? Ouchh!" Lee tried to sit up, but a sharp pain hit his left arm and left side. He looked down and saw both areas bandaged. He was lying on a thick leather bed.
"Don’t move too much. You’re injured. We’re back at the base now. And the situation is grim." Mark said, finishing the drink in his cup.
Lee slowly lay back down. "What do you mean grim?" he asked, confused.
"The princess has been abducted. And the higher-ups are assembling a group to save her," Mark said.
"Kidnapped? By who?"
"Azul."
Suddenly, Lee felt his blood boil as he remembered the moment before he blacked out. He was obliterated by that masked man with ease. Alan and Bob would surely look down on him and bring this up in the future.
He then closed his eyes again, knowing he was useless in his current condition to help.
---
"We need to save her now!" Reymond shouted. Everyone inside the main tent turned toward him, including me and Bob.
We had received the news from one of the soldiers while we were returning to the base. And it looked like what I felt earlier was right. Princess Reika was abducted.
We immediately rushed to the base camp and were welcomed by a furious Reymond, who arrived earlier than us.
"Please calm down, brother. I know you are angry, but shouting will not solve things," Reid said to him.
I looked at him, then at Reymond. If I were meeting these two for the first time, I would definitely assume Reid was the first son, much calmer and more charismatic. Meanwhile, Reymond was far more robust and impatient. If I were a resident of this kingdom, I would surely choose Reid as the next king over Reymond, for sure.
Reymond looked at his brother, then finally calmed down. He sat on one of the benches nearby, resting his chin on his hand with his elbow on the table. His foot tapped rapidly, clearly unable to suppress his worry.
Reid shook his head before turning toward the table. A map of Daisy Town was spread open. Standing around it, aside from Reid, were Mirinda, Beltimore, Githa, Linus, Bob, and me, along with several knights from each royal faction such as Dave, Saul and even Llyod, the personal guard of Princess Reika.
"So, right now, we have a situation on our hands. My sister, the princess, has been abducted. And from the information all of you gave me, it seems the kidnapper is Azul, the masked man. Therefore, let us decide how we’re going to save her," Reid said.
"Umm, excuse me, but can I ask something?" I raised my hand like an obedient student.
All eyes darted toward me, including Reymond, who glared sharply at me.
"Hmm. What is it, Alan?" Reid asked.
"Right now, we’re planning to save the Princess, right? But why are only the three of us invited to hear this plan? Why not the others?" I asked. Ever since we were called into this meeting, that question had been circling in my mind. Even Bob and Linus nodded along, agreeing with me.
Reid looked straight into my eyes. Damn it. If I were a girl, I would’ve fallen for him instantly because of that charm. I felt genuinely jealous of his handsomeness and charisma.
"The reason we told this only to a small circle," Reid said, his face turning serious, "is because the group that will save the Princess will consist of Prince Reymond, and the three of you. Only."
"Only four of us?" Bob was shocked, and honestly, so was I. Linus barely reacted. That guy... he also wants to act cool, huh?
From my left, I could feel Githa side-eyeing us. She must be extremely annoyed and irritated that the three people she mocked before are now involved in saving her master.
"Yes. We don’t want the culprit to know our movements, and when the time is right, we will save the Princess in one full swoop. The other groups of soldiers and Dawnbloom members will act as decoys," Mirinda continued. Her orange hair was tied beautifully behind her back.
"I’m really delighted that we were chosen. But that Azul guy is really strong, the strongest we’ve ever met," I said. I didn’t want to crush the motivation here, but I was being realistic. That Azul guy was not someone to mess with. He was insanely strong.
"Are you sure he’s stronger than you?" Beltimore asked as he adjusted his glasses. "Because from what I saw, you two weren’t using your full strength against him."
I looked at him, confused. What did he mean by that?
"I already saw what you two were capable of against the enemies inside the Coldshire Cave. I believe that if you use the same abilities again, you have a chance to beat him," he continued calmly.
I glanced at Bob. He had the same expression as me, utter confusion mixed with disbelief.
By abilities, did he mean the Hero Grace skill and the Timeweaver class I used before? Thinking about it again, we didn’t use those when we faced Azul last time. But... will that really be enough to handle him?
"I agree. These two are really strong, if they’re dead serious," Linus added. His memory was surely still fresh from that moment when me and Bob were wrecking havoc against thousands of monsters back in Lily Town.
Reymond suddenly stood up and approached us. Me and Bob instinctively stepped back a little.
His eyes locked onto ours, sharp and fierce.
"You two... please help us save our sister."
Suddenly, his expression softened, showing a hint of desperation.
