Chapter 109: Shardstorm

I opened my status window and tapped on the card category.

In that section, I noticed three new cards, each marked with a unique symbol at the top right corner. They were clearly the class cards we had just obtained.

I tapped on one of them. A man surrounded by swirling ice filled the image.

Just reading the description was enough to make me shiver.

I equipped the class.

My body immediately glowed in a deep, icy blue. A few seconds later, just like when I first activated the Timeweaver class, my appearance began to change.

All my equipment turned midnight blue. Even my hair shifted color, now radiating a chilling hue.

"Cool, dude!" Bob said, stepping back. "You just turned into a ice man!"

Linus tried to process what he was seeing, but a sudden gust of freezing air washed over him. He instinctively hugged his arms, teeth chattering.

Changing into this class dropped the temperature in my nearby area dramatically.

For me, though? It felt amazing, like standing in front of an air conditioner set at a perfect 25°C.

I turned toward the Red Condor, still charging its self-destruct sequence.

Its eyes met mine.

It must be regretting that its ritual took so long to activate.

"Step back, Linus," I said, eyes fixed forward. "This is gonna be very cool."

Linus took a step back and stand beside Bob and Plump, his eyes sharp, focused on me, waiting to see what I’d do next.

"Froze Zone!"

I cast the AOE spell, and in an instant, the ground around me transformed into a shimmering sheet of ice. A biting chill swept through the air.

---

"Ice magic?" Aaron gasped.

"Isn’t that the same element as that cocky glasses guy from the guild?" Dorian muttered, equally stunned.

Everyone including Cerdic looked surprised.

They all knew just how powerful ice magic could be, especially after witnessing Beltimore’s devastating spells. He was feared across regions under the nickname ’Four-Eyes Frostbite.’

Dalma, who had been unsettled before, was now completely focused. Her attention locked onto me, eyes narrowed.

In her mind, I had officially become the most dangerous of the trio.

---

The elite Red Condor let out a low growl as it began to twitch and shake, clearly disturbed by the cold.

The frost began creeping up its legs, starting from where its talons touched the frozen ground, spreading up its body slowly.

But it refused to budge.

Its eyes glared with unshaken resolve. It would complete its self-destruction, even if it froze solid doing it.

That’s when I noticed something.

It needed to remain perfectly still to complete the ritual.

A slow, confident smirk spread across my face.

Let’s see if you’re still so committed after this.

"Shardstorm Halo!"

The cold air around me thickened and swirled. From within it, ten razor-sharp ice shards materialized, spinning in orbit around me like silent sentinels.

Each one angled itself toward the Red Condor, gleaming with deadly intent.

I lifted my hand and pointed at the condor like a gun. My left eye closed, lining up the imaginary crosshair.

Then...

"Go!"

One of the shards shot forward with a sharp whistle, piercing the frozen air like a bullet.

Whiiissk!

One of the ice shards shot through the air and slammed into the Red Condor’s left wing with a sharp impact.

It didn’t trigger the Frostbite effect, but the creature let out a pained roar. Still, it held its form, wings outstretched.

But I noticed something, the sigil on its wings had begun to rotate slowly. The ritual was still ongoing.

"So you still don’t want to give up? Fine. Taste this one."

Whiiisk!

Another shard flew out, this time striking the right wing. And finally, the Frostbite effect activated. A thick sheet of ice formed over part of its wing, roughly 25% frozen.

That much was enough.

Its posture shifted awkwardly, wings now unbalanced.

I fired three more shards.

Only one of them triggered Frostbite. Looks like the Frostbite rate was lower than I hoped.

Still, it was working. Bit by bit, the beast was being worn down.

The elite Red Condor began tilting, struggling to stay in the air.

Every flap of its massive wings caused visible agony as blood and frost coating its feathers.

Thump!

The beast crashed into the earth with a heavy thud, sending up dust and ice shards.

I exhaled slowly, lowering my hand.

We stopped it... The calamity was avoided. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

I gave Bob and Linus a big thumbs-up.

Bob returned the gesture, grinning ear to ear.

Linus, however, stood frozen in place his expression pure disbelief.

And Plump?

Well, he was pecking the ground...facing the other way.

"Alan, released all of your shard to it and finished it off. We have been too long handling it." Bob said.

I nodded. It is actually my plan.

I shoot all the remaining shards, and when the last of it strike the condor, it stopped moving. It body was partially covered in ice, looked like sculpture.

"Tskk, to think I just cast a barrier for nothing." Dorian was frustrated, he then remove the barrier. Cerdic looked at the scene in front of him and then move toward the trio.
