Doted By The Regent King-Chapter 1113 - 1111: Princess Changping Seeks Me Out
Since the last time she did Princess Changping’s makeup at the Famed Flower Convention, Wufu hasn’t seen her again, nor does she think they’ll have any further interactions, given the social class disparity there.
Besides, she’s been genuinely busy these days. Although there’s a dedicated person managing the business, she can’t just wash her hands of it and let others handle everything; she keeps control over matters, filtering information from various channels. She can’t be like the young ladies in the city, spending days only playing with music, chess, books, and paintings.
Now, Princess Changping is actively seeking her out, which indeed surprises Wufu.
After tidying up and riding a carriage to Zining Pavilion, a female clerk was already waiting there. As she saw Wufu get off the carriage, she quickly stepped forward and curtsied, saying, "Miss, you’re here."
"Yes. Is the shop busy?" Wufu looked inside, seeing a few heads bobbing around.
The female clerk smiled and said, "It’s still early now, so it’s not too busy yet. Miss, the Commandery Princess is in the elegant room, and Manager Feng is entertaining her."
"You go ahead and get busy; I’ll go in by myself." Wufu walked into the shop and saw someone selecting cosmetics. The female clerks were all smiling and attending to them, which made her nod silently.
Ever since Princess Changping had an astonishing appearance at the Famed Flower Convention, the name of Zining Pavilion spread to many ears through her, and many noblewomen and young ladies became aware of its existence. Seeing Princess Changping herself using the cosmetics and looking quite beautiful, they all came to investigate, as everyone loves beauty.
Thus, the business opened up like this, and as the business continued to flourish, there weren’t enough staff, so Fengniang herself added a few girls to the shop.
Walking through the corridor leading to the elegant room at the back hall, Wufu arrived at the door of the elegantly and quietly arranged room, where someone was guarding it. Wufu recognized her as the girl who initially connected them to Zining Pavilion, who is also Fengniang’s niece, called Honghong.
Wufu smiled at her, after all, she was the intermediary; although she received an introduction fee, she still deserved gratitude.
Honghong curtsied to her and announced inside the door. Someone came out to greet her; it was Qing Xin, the chief maid by Princess Changping’s side.
"Miss Wufu is here; our Commandery Princess has been thinking about the Miss for a while," Qing Xin said with a smile and a curtsy.
Wufu nodded with a smile and walked in, seeing Princess Changping sitting at the dressing table, being made up by Fengniang. As she saw Wufu through the mirror, she widened her eyes and said, "You’re really slow, making me wait so long!"
Fengniang intended to salute Wufu, but Wufu waved her hand for her to continue working. Fengniang smiled and kept her hands moving as she was already finishing up.
Wufu then said to Princess Changping, "Blame it on me not being able to foresee the Commandery Princess’s grand visit, otherwise, I’d have been waiting in the shop since before dawn."
These words, who knows if they were sarcastic or joking, always sounded a bit off. Princess Changping knew her earlier words were rather abrupt, so she glared at her and said nothing more.
Fengniang just finished painting a flower pattern on Changping’s forehead, making her originally spirited face appear a bit softer. Changping herself looked quite satisfied.
Wufu sipped the tea from those below, seeing her turn around, she nodded, "It seems the Commandery Princess has learned quite a bit about dressing up; this outfit suits you very well."
The silver-white dress, waist wrapped with a Jade Belt, with two pieces of top-quality mutton fat jade plaques pressed at the skirt corners, the hair bun adorned only with two emerald and Sapphire encrusted pointed gold pendants, styled simple and elegant, more fitting far better than those overly flashy ones.
"So tell me, what does the Commandery Princess want from me?"
