Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law-Chapter 671 - 674: Nine Swords
The odds for a triple were extremely high. After winning just a single round, a pile of new, multicolored chips appeared in front of Liu Ergou.
Liu Ergou swept the chips into his arms and burst into hearty laughter.
"Hahaha, see? What did I tell you? My hunch was dead on! I knew I’d make a comeback this round!" he roared. "Look at this, look at this! Rich overnight!"
The people around him watched him roar with laughter, their hearts filled with envy.
"Tsk, this kid’s luck is insane! He actually hit a triple and won so much!"
"Yeah, seriously! Why don’t we ever get luck like that? I’m so jealous!"
"Jealous of what? There’s nothing to be jealous about. Trust me, his luck’s about to run out next round. He’s definitely going to lose, you hear me!"
Listening to the crowd’s chatter, Liu Ergou just smiled faintly before making a move that stunned everyone.
They all watched as Liu Ergou pushed his entire pile of chips onto the space for a triple.
"I feel like I’m on a roll right now," he declared loudly. "I’m betting on a triple again! I’m one hundred percent certain I’ll win!"
The people beside Liu Ergou exchanged glances, looking as if they wanted to say something. In the end, however, not a single word was spoken. They just watched him place his bet.
Soon, everyone saw the outcome of the round.
Once again, Liu Ergou had won.
This time, the crowd’s gasps were even louder than before.
The Croupier, who had remained impassive until now, couldn’t help but frown as a triple appeared for the second time.
How is this possible? Triples can happen here, but not this frequently. Two in a row? The odds of that are practically negligible.
Yet, it was happening right before his eyes, which made him wonder if the man was cheating. With that thought, the Croupier couldn’t help but glance over at Liu Ergou.
At that moment, Liu Ergou’s eyes were feverish and bloodshot, his gaze locked on the gambling table, showing no signs of looking away.
He’s clearly just a fanatical gambler.
Having confirmed this, the Croupier breathed a small sigh of relief.
It seems this guy is just exceptionally lucky, hitting two triples in a row. But there’s no way he’ll hit a third.
However, before the Croupier could finish his thought, Liu Ergou pushed all his chips onto the triple for a third time.
This action rendered the Croupier speechless. He suddenly had a premonition that this round might also be a triple. Don’t ask the Croupier why he thought this; frankly, even he didn’t know why such an idea had appeared in his mind.
Taking a deep breath, the Croupier composed himself and started a new round.
Just like that, six more rounds were played, bringing the total to nine. The chips in front of Liu Ergou had now piled into a small mountain.
The Croupier watched Liu Ergou, who was now drenched in cold sweat, his hands trembling uncontrollably.
At this point, I’m absolutely certain. This man has to be cheating, using some method I don’t know. Otherwise, it would be impossible to get nine triples in a row. He’s definitely cheating.
The Croupier felt he couldn’t continue. He looked at Liu Ergou, wiped the cold sweat from his own brow, and announced, "Apologies, everyone. It’s time for a shift change. We need to swap dealers, so please wait just a moment."
After saying this, the Croupier turned and walked away right in front of everyone, without the slightest hesitation. In the blink of an eye, he was gone.
Seeing the Croupier leave, the others grew impatient.
"Hey, where’s he going? Leaving at a critical moment like this!"
"Yeah! Can’t you let us win a few more hands? I was just about to break even!"
"Exactly! What a waste of time! I’m going to file a complaint later. That guy is so annoying!"
But Liu Ergou just sat there, looking completely calm. If one looked closely, however, you could see the anxiety in his eyes. Although he looked like a fervent gambler on the outside, Liu Ergou was actually thinking about something else entirely.
He was still pondering a single question.
Where did the person I was following go?
The first floor was massive, but Liu Ergou’s eyesight was exceptionally sharp. While playing the dice game, his gaze had already scanned the entire floor, but he hadn’t seen the man he’d tailed inside.
As for the second floor... Liu Ergou couldn’t even be bothered to entertain the thought. If that guy could really produce 20,000,000, then I’ll eat my hat. He just doesn’t look like someone who has that kind of money.
Just as Liu Ergou was lost in thought, the sound of high heels approached.
CLACK, CLACK, CLACK...
Hearing the distinct sound, Liu Ergou couldn’t help but turn his head. He saw a woman in a long red dress and red high heels walking his way. Before he could get a better look, she had already arrived at the gambling table.
Looking at the assembled crowd, the woman spoke slowly, "I’m sorry, everyone. My colleague has finished his shift. I’ll be taking over for him now. However, I heard from my colleague that there’s someone here with incredible luck. Could you show me who it is?"
No sooner had she finished speaking than everyone standing around the table took a simultaneous step back, leaving Liu Ergou standing all alone at the front.
Looking at the woman before him, Liu Ergou raised a hand in greeting. "Hello, beautiful. The person your colleague mentioned with the good luck? That’s me. I hit nine triples in a row! Hahaha!"
A flash of disdain crossed the woman’s eyes as she watched him laugh, but her smiling expression never faltered.
"So it’s you," the woman said, still smiling. "Well then, sir, I hope your luck holds out."
With that, the woman picked up the dice cup and shook it vigorously. The dice inside clattered loudly, and soon her hands were nothing but a blur that no one could follow—except for Liu Ergou.
Quickly, the woman set the dice cup down. "Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen," she announced. "No more bets!"
Yet when she finished speaking, nobody placed a bet. Instead, every eye in the crowd turned to Liu Ergou. He had become their de facto leader.
But what no one expected was...
